I don't think the innocent players should be penalized ... they should have the right to leave ... with no penalty. It is the coach and the player that should be hit hard. Right now the coach can move on and suffers nothing except for a reputation hit, even with that, there is always somebody else willing to pay him. If the coach and the player were given 1 year suspensions allowing no contact with the NCAA ... the school gets probation with all innocent players allowed to leave, the schools will start monitoring the programs better, the coaches will be more carefull, and the players might say no.

Wow ... if getting a 7 seed in the NCAA tourney leaves a soccer fan screwed ... where does that leave a SLU basketball fan ?

It does look tough ... but I hate to say this we are over ranked at 3. I'm not sure this isn't correct. A more decisive CUSA final win over an average Charlotte team would have helped. Either way you have to beat the best to be the best. If we are complaining about not being a higher seed ... we shouldn't have any problem winning until Maryland in the elite 8. I think we will be fine. I haven't seen Maryland play yet but Courtside has and says they are big and good. Best of luck Bills.

As big as a soccer fan as I am ... I understand that most people in the USA are not. The PD is going to print what they think the people want to see. With that said ... we have a team that has been ranked in the top 10 all year long with mostly local players. Starting usually 6 freshmen and we will probably lead the country in attendance. We should get more coverage than we do.

I'm not saying soccer is more popular at SLU than Bball ... obviously it is not ... but with games on campus there are a lot of students at the games and I bet most students know most of the players. I believe SLU will lead the nation in attendance this year at about 3,000 people per game. Not that much off some bball programs

No it isn't. Soccer is known throughout the world as the beautiful game. Tonka are you going to be at the game monday? If so come over and introduce yourself. Ease up on soccer ... those who go out of their way to knock the game are probably jealous of it's popularity. If you really don't like it ignore the thread.

I know Vedad has been here at least a couple of years ... I sold his dad a car a couple of years ago. I do not know why they came. South Stl. is a huge Bosnian community ... I believe 2nd largest in the US. It is also becoming a large Mexican community, especially around the Cherokee area. I would think more soccer players from them than from the Bosnians. I don't know the name of the park but it is the one where they filmed a lot of the soccer movie that is coming out about the US National team that beat England in the 50's. ... there is always soccer being played in that park. The young Bosnian crowd is not getting a good start in Stl. ... There is a bit of a problem there ... a lot of drugs ... and unemployment at least that is the story from the cops that patrol this area ... they see it as a rising problem. Vedad's family though are very nice people ... his Dad is a very nice guy.

Vedad ... with three unassisted goals and 1 with his head. Sounds like UAB wanted to get rough. I hate to see that when teams are losing they want to get physical. Every team needs a thug on the end of their bench to let it be known that your best player is in danger if you want to turn it into a dirty game.

Schasz ... I didn't say people who like him are idiots ... I said he was. I am very open minded ... but just don't get what people see in him. He is obnoxious and arrogant ... I probably wouldn't have as much of a problem with him if he didn't talk smack about people then turn his back and run when confronted. The Jim Everett deal years back exposed him. He is a wuss. He also kisses up to people constantly if he thinks they are "cool". Either way he has been successful which says too much about our culture.

We are really peaking ... WOW would I liked to have seen that game. A good win over Charlotte today and I can't imagine us not getting a 1 seed. Congrats guys ... Super game. Charlotte is playing their 3rd game in 3 days ... but obviously playing well. As a whole this tourney has not been good for CUSA soccer. It may reduce us to 2 or 3 teams in the NCAA's. I thought we might have had a chance for 4. UAB must be on the bubble having lost their last 2 games 1 at home 1 at the tourney by a combined score of 8-2. Not Good

I agree with your statement ... it is not fair to the players to be punished for a coach. The NCAA is a joke on this. If a coach gets nailed for major violations ... he and the players involved (including the Head Coach involved or not) should be suspended for 1 year for the 1st violation. They should not be allowed to have anything to do with the NCAA during that period, including TV work. Take away a coaches million dollar salary for a year he will learn the rules and pay attention to his subordinates. The player loses a year of eligibility and can not participate with any team in any way.

I grew up a huge OU fan ...and am still a huge OU fan, I follow them closely and even subscribe to Sooner Illustrated. Since moving to St.Louis in '90 and starting to go to all the Bills games I have become a bigger SLU fan. I love college sports more than the pros. If OU played SLU I would have to cheer for SLU ... but it would be difficult. I am not a college grad ... so I don't have that alumni bond ... but still live and die with the Bills ... even going to sit in the car to hear the game if it is not on TV anywhere as I can't get good reception. So I would say like Roy ... my heart can only truly belong to one team.

I agree it will be tough ... but with us healthy for one of the few times this year ... I think it is a game we can and should win. Im was also at the Louisville game and we should have won. I would expect Cinci to beat Charlotte and that is a game we really need to avenge. I'm looking forward to NCAA tourney games at home ... but we need to take care of business and win this tourney.

Thanks ... that sounds pretty equal to me. No question Marquette had a great year last year ... but the past decade seems pretty equal. Its funny if you asked most Basketball fans which school was better over the last 10 years ... I bet most would say Marquette.
