  1. No, the MO taxpayers had to pay for the cheats from Gooberville's new digs. Whatever they are paying Randy Pulley...he's way overpaid after viewing last night's fiasco.
  2. However, I wanted to hurl something at my TV when Dickey Puke said knowing Snyder and Odem like he does, they just cannot be guilty on the paying players or academic fraud claims. Just keep drinking the SPUMAC Kool Aid Dickey Puke! Me...I wonder how much they had to agree to pay Conley to get him to make the switch???
  3. The interesting thing about the players you mentioned (all good players) was none of the were bigs. Robinson at what 6'6" would have been the tallest of that lot, and that was a big problem with Spoon's overall body of work in the recruiting vein...he never really recruited a stud big man. Of course, one could argue that none of his predecessors have shined in that area of recruiting to date either...school still being out on the likes of Ian, JJ, and Husak.
  4. That's because the recruiting plan of the snake oil salesman was poor at best. Sure glad he's not our problem anymore.
  5. Taj79, Agreed 110% especially on your comments about playing JJ and Clarke. I really do look for this to happen too.
  6. Exactly, I think the folks now on Brad's butt now about not offering Ahearn forget that we had received the verbal from Morris, and IMHO it was Morris who had the scholie offered that could have been offered to Ahearn. IMO it didn't come down to Clarke VS Ahearn but instead Morris VS Ahearn.
  7. From what has been reported on this board...it does not sound like he has enough range on his J to be playing on the wing. He's still a very young and raw but also one of the best athletes on this team. I'd hope that we will see this kid grow before our very eyes as a pretty serviceable 4.
  8. Has been doing the Bills games. I'm sure he started sometine during the 10 seasons that Rich Grawer was HC and Rich started coaching in the 82-83 season. I've said before that my feeling on Ramsey is SLU is strictly a job, and if something better came along, then he would be gone in a heartbeat. He's done an OK job but I go back to when Harry Caray and after him Jack Buck did the games and Bob just isn't in those two hall of famers league. The sports radio at KFNS sucked when I left town in September of '96 and I understand it still sucks...can't say it is any better here in Tampa either. My memory of Ramsey and Claiborne on KFNS weren't particularly good. I seem to remember the restaurant and movie reviews that were very boring to this sports junkie. I like the idea of writing to Woolard if Ramsey is ragging about SLU on his show. That's plain stupid...taking a bite out of the hand that feeds you. I would send Doug an email...please pass his email address for the out of town fans.
  9. As the people here in Tampa Bay remind about my Rams VS Bucs would hold true with SLU VS SMS...they seem to have our number.
  10. It looks and smells like a 6-5 start to me. That is, if we hold court VS Butler and K-State because I don't see us being able to beat Dayton on the road.
  11. We did just that during several of the Spoon years (play UMKC home and home), and funny but I don't recall even one KC recruit coming to SLU. I prefer tougher schedules and I think as our talent base gets better then we'll see more of the middling type teams instead of the ones holding up the rear. Let's see what next year brings as far as the buy games are concerned.
  12. That's been part of the territory of being a Billiken fan.
  13. I think Brad will do some real soul searching the next couple days with the help of his Assts and I do think that is very possible that changes will come about.
  14. I'll repeat my question for all of the Moo Fans...How much of a pay increase did the rest of your boys get once the Slick Rick was lopped off your payroll???
  15. 3star_recruit, I read Coach Soderberg's comments and while I don't want to try to read his mind...I believe that once he reviews this game, we likely could see some changes. The Butler game should be interesting.
  16. jjray, You and I are wondering the same thing. Perhaps, we'll see some adjustments in this regard starting with Butler next Saturday??? One can only hope.
  17. Again I'm perfectly fine with the notion of being patient and have preached it myself to some of the young Billiken fans. I forgot about DC's flu bug. He should be good to go and hopefully we'll see that in his minutes. I still want to see JJ's minutes go up (13 last night and Varner's (25 last night) go down. If we have to take our medicine this year then so be it...let's just take it with the younger talent getting some meaningful minutes, and learning the ropes for the better days to follow.
  18. I may just be whistling in the dark, but I suspect after reading Coach Soderberg's comments in the P-D today that we will see some subtle adjustments starting with the Butler game. I have no idea what they will be, but he is giving the players a couple days off while he does some sole searching. IMHO if we are going to lose then I would rather lose with better/younger athletes on the court...at least they are picking up valuable experience...think of it as on the job training...we've all gotten it in our career.
  19. Hopefully, that will be true as SMS now has a 3 game winning streak and I think they lead the overall series some ridiculous figure like 14-6, but unlike the ***** Cats, we don't duck them and we should continue playing the darn game.
  20. While I have to defer to those that have seen Blake play, but several have posted that he is a spot up shooter in the vein of the Diener's. Now I did see all of Clag's Billiken career and he wasn't a spot up shooter as he could get his own shot off the dribble.
  21. Maybe I am reading more into it than Coach Soderberg intended, but I do sort of wonder what kind of adjustments he will make going into the Butler game. He sounds as disappointed as many on this board were with the final result of last nights game...and it does sound like changes could be on the horizon. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...+hole+vs.+Bears
  22. On AD if his ankle is screwed up then it seems logical that the same holds true for him that did for IO when he played hurt...it's going to limit him...I give the kid props for giving it a go. The difference would be that even injured AD plays stronger D than IO does at 100%. You won't see me get on Coach Soderberg this year, as I said before the season started that ANY postseason play by our Billikens would be a real accomplishment. I'm hoping that with the remaining schedule we can finish at least .500 if not a game or two above, but I'm not sure what anyone was smokin to think this team had anywhere near 20 wins in them this year.
  23. And I am still saying my prayers that does happen next year.
