  1. Blackened grouper would be more suitable to my current weight loss program as both my wife and I are trying to stay away from almost anything fried and we both really like grouper. By the way, my wife was the Kahok and she graduated from Collinsville in '67. Her maiden name was Shari Mashek. We'd probably be about 25-30 minute drive from Palm Harbor to that restaurant, and we will give it a try.
  2. Well I worked for 11 years at A-B before I left St. Louis for good in 1996. A-B seemed to constantly be watching their backside from some of the so called do gooder politicians. Believe it or not, but there are some that would have us go back to the days of prohibition, and you can bet the organized crime folks would love that. Your right A-B was famous for sending money to the PAC's in order to maintain enough political friends in Washington to ensure that nonsensical legislation was not passed.
  3. This is a vey good column about our two local recruits...thanks Bernie. I'm still saying my prayers that Tommie gets his academics in order so they can both play 4 years together at SLU. I'd love to see these two kids along with Luke raise our program to new heights. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/co...llikens'+future
  4. Our politicians are too busy stuffing their pockets from lobbyists and special interest groups to care about trying to solve many of the important issues like health care and education.
  5. Wow! Sign Guy may be right on and maybe we do have another 7 game end of season run in us. We sure did avenge the loss and it is spooky that DePaul repeated what we did...blow a big 1st half lead and let's not forget that they were a hot team on what seemed to be a major roll and playing at home. Lots and lots of kudos to our coaching staff and players for showing a huge heart and coming back to win a very big game in enemy territory. The Cincy game looms very large and would get me to thinking that we are back in the CUSA race if we can pull that upset. I mean Louisville is sinking fast. Who's going to win this thing???
  6. No way am I about to give up on Ian. Coach Soderberg is very high on his ability and that is good enough for me. Give Coach a little more time to work with Ian and I believe that we will all be pleased with the end result.
  7. Not too many surprise here and you can bet there will be plenty of pink slips in the what have you done for me lately world we live in. No surprise that the slimeball from SPUMAC made the list. http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/7103849
  8. For the compliment and no Atkins isn't for everyone and it is definitely not for me. My story is interesting in that my wife started on Atkins and lost 10 very tough lbs. I saw her struggling and she said to me when are you going to start and I told her the only way I start a Weight Loss program is if she decided to go to Weight Watchers with me. She said OK and she is already at her goal, but continues to go in support of me. I am 110% commited to the program and making my goal which may take me another 3-4 months to reach. Don't take my comments wrong because Atkins does work for many people but it just was not the right program for me. People have to be comfortable with their program otherwise they won't be succesful. Of course the other part of this is to get more active. Shari and I have new Trek bikes that we ride religiously. They are as much a part of our program as the change in eating habits.
  9. Anyone going be sure to have a Gino's East Deep Dish Pizza in my honor. It is easily the best deep dish I have ever had, but it would not be on my weight loss routine now. I have dropped 40 lbs. in less than 4 months. Getting back to basketball, I hope that our team can play 40 minutes of basketball this time as we really blew a big lead in our 1st meeting. We have lefet ourselves with virtually no margin for error the rest of this season as far as any NCAA hopes are concerned.
  10. Looks like they are ready to make the jump into the BE...not sure we can make the same statement about the team that we beat last night.
  11. JM, I knew that he was ill and looking at him before he was fired from the TV job that he had with the local Tampa NBC station, I had guessed it was cancer. I rarely got to listen to his WDAE gig as it is on at a time that I am busy in the office. He did know and love horse racing and got into owning some horses too. http://sports.tbo.com/sports/MGA0Q6IYUQD.html
  12. I'll cut that kid some slack as he played a whale of a game for MU and almost singlehandedly willed them to a win. We must of played a little better D on him in the 2nd half, but I was beginning to think he would go off for about 40 in the 1st half.
  13. That was the way the dudes doing the MU broadcast relayed the play...a MU player had missed a shot, I believe a 3 pointer that went out of bounds with 4 Ticks left.
  14. Just another reason why that walk to the new on campus Biondi Palace will be a blessing for the on campus students.
  15. In his postgame show and says there are a lot of tears in the MU dressing room. Well, I guess they now know how our team has felt the last 7 teams we have met. Somehow I don't feel too bad for the MU players.
  16. Travis Diener had 26 points...3 assits and only one TO. MU had 14 TO's and according to these MU dudes we tied them on the boards, but we were better than MU on the offensive boards. They are really talking up TF's play tonight.
  17. Yea, but when you think about it...how many games have we really shined on offense all year long...not too darn many in my books. This team has to win playing tough D.
  18. Yea, the MU radio dudes were whining about how many layups that we got in the 2nd half. TF finished with 9 points according the the MU announcers.
  19. slu72, Too bad you aren't down here in Tampa as I would gladly buy the 1st round. What a sweet victory over a conference rival.
  20. Way to go and you gotta luv it for the Sr. players Fish and Sloan who now have a win over Marquette.
  21. IO fouled with 3 ticks left...make the FT...
  22. MU just missed a 3. We need to end this stinking streak at 7 and give MU a 4 game losing streak.
  23. TO with 7 and change...we have had some empty trips with the lead and we have the ball...need a bucket out of the TO.
