  1. You have severely underrated Erwin Claggett. Claggett was first team all conference 3 years 93 All GMC - Claggett, Ron Curry, Penny Hardaway, Nick Van Exel, Tom Kleinschmidt 94 All GMC - Claggett, Tom Kleinschmidt, Anthony Miller, Jim Mcilvaine, Robert Shannon, David Vaughn 95 All GMC - Claggett, Lazelle Durden, Tom Kleinschmidt, Danny Fortson, Lorenzen Wright Claggett made an all conference team with two first round draft picks as a sophomore. I think he's on a different tier than Jimerson. The Great Midwest was much better than the A10 has been for the last decade. Way more talent. Claggett dominated that league. 26 year old Claggett in the current A10?!?!?! He'd put up 30 a game.
  2. Nephew in the U City/Clayton area just finished his 2nd season of basketball and is 8 years old. Loves the game and he has my family's height. He's a bit young but he's never without a basketball and said he wants to play more and get better. We are looking for a good area program that can work him out a couple times a week personally or in small groups and also some of the best camps for his age group around the area in the summer. Thanks in advance for any info.
  3. If true, how do we have two of the top 3 players and finish 5th? No way we deserve 2 1st teamers. We don't deserve a 1 and 2nd teamer either.
  4. Jimerson has scored 20 points in a road victory in A10 play over the course of 6 seasons....3 times. Twice against Rhode Island and once against Fordham. Jimerson has put up huge counting numbers for SLU. He was the best player on a team 1 year, we finished 13-20 that season. He's never been a "clutch" player. He's not taking the last shot on any of his teams that he played on by design. He is a great Billiken. You can say that without implying that he was a clutch player in big big games. He wasn't and thats OK. If you take the special events in his career, let's say he played from 06-10, he plays 4 years, never gets two redshirts and a covid year. He ends up scoring about 1400 points. Not too shabby in Billikens history. Let's not rewrite history here though. Jimerson is not Claggett, Lisch, Bonner etc. Doesn't mean he isn't good though.
  5. Just curious can you name a few?
  6. Most Career 30 point games as a Billiken 1. Lew Mckinney 6 2. Larry Hughes 5 Anthony Bonner 5 Gibson Jimerson 5 Most 30 point games in a season as a Billiken 1. Larry Hughes 5 2. Anthony Bonner 4 Joe Wiley 4 3. Harry Rogers 3 Jimmy Irving 3 Lew Mckinney 3 (Twice) Gibson Jimerson 3 There are a number of players who should get consideration for having a number retired or their name in the rafters before Jimerson. Ray Steiner, David Burns, Jordair Jett, Erwin Claggett, Larry Hughes, Harry Rogers, Jordan Goodwin, Yuri Collins, Dwayne Evans all have resumes that should warrant inclusion over Jimerson.
  7. Can anyone explain why peyton kennedy went from an all timer to meh in a few months? Was her injury way worse? Why was a pre season all conference pick and one of the best scorers in program history yo yoed in the rotation all season?
  8. Jimerson made more here this season than he probably can make in any 1 season overseas. He's also 26, his pro career earning time is pretty short. He also may be able to make as much in a regular job as he would starting off in Europe, certainly in Australia.
  9. Her early success has bought her some time. The underlying area there is those teams got hot in the postseason. They weren't really good teams. Tillett didn't turn that on court success into recruiting success. I think she is still recruiting a level below where she needs to. This incoming Freshman class has promise certainly, Wallace should have the most impact year one, but there are no stars in that class, no difference makers. Her lack of recruits are catching up to her. Next years team will have the least amount of talent right now since Shimmy was here. The roster as it stands will be very hard to finish in the top ten in the A10. Thinking she will get an impact transfer is fools gold.
  10. Davis already has multiple offers from the big 4.
  11. With the talent level she has returning a tough schedule like that could easily get her fired. I don't think the administration is going to accept sub 10 wins from the Womens program anymore. No doubt Tillet has some in game coaching chops, and she performs in the postseason. She hasn't recruited well enough the last two years for her teams to get to the postseason going forward though.
  12. The 3 recruits Tillet has coming in will be nice players. Next year's team though will have 20+ losses.
  13. Davis is not coming to SLU. Neither is Rob Martin.
  14. The A10 is going to move to add 1 or 2 new members within the next 2 years. High Point is a strong candidate along with a couple others. SLU should go independent. I'm not joking.
  15. NBL 2025: How Jayson Tatum’s father Justin Tatum forging success for the Illawarra Hawks
  16. Hard to run with no pg or player who can finish on the break.
  17. I am guessing what post you are referring to but Conklin wants one more run in the Puerto Rican League and isn't getting any looks. He's played in that offseason league for years and has been a star, champion, and MVP on multiple occasions.
  18. Both Ian and Izik served suspensions for playing on a "team with other professional players" according to the Post at the time. Izik had an 8 game suspension, Ian's was 10. I'm not sure if the Post Dispatch was just not specific enough on the ruling or of the rules have changed or both but it is pretty commonplace now for European player to be on a pro team roster and still be NCAA eligible.
  19. Yes. If they don't want to spend extra money they won't sign him. But he also has a limited number of games that he can play under his 2 way, I think he is only eligible to play 14 more games. So he will have to be signed by the time he reaches that limit if they want to keep playing him.
  20. Hearing that barring injury that Goodwin will be on a standard deal by the end of the season. The March 1st deadline is key as that is the last day a player can be released by an NBA team but remain playoff eligible if signs with another team. Up until the final day of the season a player can be signed to a regular roster deal and be eligible for the playoffs so Goodwin may have to wait awhile on his deal. Buyout candidates for the lakers are Cam Reddish and Markief Morris with Cam Reddish being the more obvious one. The Lakers still might want to take a look and see what bigs are available after the March 1st deadline but since they are over the tax apron they can only sign a player who was making less than 12.8 million dollars. The market for bigs is poor, and with that salary restriction it gets only worse. Goodwin has another couple good outings Reddish could very well be released on March 1st. Then it is just a matter of time before Goodwin is signed to a regular deal.
  21. He may be on a pro team roster but he isn't getting paid, or the amount he is getting paid is akin to room and board. Only the very top teenage prospects go pro early in Europe. This guy is playing mostly on B and C team rosters for his club or is playing national league games in Italy while the real roster is playing euroleague.
  22. No only summer league and exhibition games. He was on an active roster though, but never was in a game.
  23. Great news for Yuri. Will get a 10 day at the very least and might get one of their remaining 2 way spots.
  24. While some really high jersey sales numbers were floated in the offseason, those numbers are under dispute. Bronny didn't make the top 15 jersey list put out late last month by the NBA. Hard to believe he put out those numbers and didn't show up on that list. Every other high impact rookie in the past has. More likely the jerseys were "produced" and not sold.
  25. There are 540 roster spots in the NBA. These are not the best 540 players in the world. There are 2-3000 guys playing pro across the globe who if given the opportunity could not only make a roster but could potentially be a rotation player or even star in the NBA. Getting on an NBA roster is all about timing, and opportunity and potential. Skill frankly doesn't count as much. Bronny, while talented, had a way better chance at a spot because of his father. Without that last name he wouldn't have entered the draft this year and the chances of him making a roster would be minimal. Just throw him in the pool with all the other guys and he's most likely not getting a serious look.
