  1. The online campaign to dump Ford and hire Schertz/not hire Ahearn had a definite effect on the decisions made in the last few weeks. How can you not see this? Burnergate doesn't happen without the online pressure. That embarrassment was the tipping point in Ford's tenure. There was no coming back after that. The AD's office is still talking about the box of clown noses. It was a big black eye for them. May might still have them, he did for several weeks after. The silly multi year flirtation with Blake Ahearn was put down completely by online pressure. Schertz as a a candidate was enhanced exponentially by the support of him online. But yeah the grassroots thing was stupid. The AD, Board of Trustees, and big boosters all read this board and Billikens Twitter. What we say does influence and shape their decisions.
  2. First quoting yourself is a ****** move. Your timeline in both posts is way off and your info is just completely inaccurate. You cribbed this off a couple pay boards that I am on too and you copy and pasted specifically from two posts on another pay site.
  3. Blake Ahearn has moved on from SLU. We have to go after the original Blake Ahearn, Kent Williams.
  4. Lol you do realize Slaten has been the sports director at two tv stations in town for multiple years.
  5. Fist fights would break out amongst the coaching staff before the first whistle blows. Then Slaten would sucker punch a cheerleader on his way out.
  6. If you bungle 10 projects at your job and do well on one does your company retain you?
  7. I actually know them. Just don't like the free passes certain people have gotten in the basketball community. Don't get me started on Pee Wee Lenard.
  8. Blue blood college basketball coaches embezzle thousands of dollars from their schools and then retain their jobs? They also run a fake mortgage scam for several years buying up a dozen properties to bilk out banks and investors. Also news to me. I've never heard of a college basketball coach who was an informant for the FBI for several years. There is no defending Floyd Irons. He is a criminal scumbag.
  9. Didn't say they were successful at it. Usually criminals who maintain ties to law enforcement do so because they've been caught multiple times. Typical of St. Louis to continually defend criminals in our community. Don't particularly care how they live. Irons is a convicted felon who recieved favorable treatment in his jail sentence, his best friends and business associates are criminals, he has admitted to cheating in gaining admittance for players to go to his school, paying for housing, forging documents, he's admitted to skimming off the top in the school district that employed him for 40 years, stealing thousands or more. The same corrupt school district employs his son in the same job he had, a son who was involved in the fathers criminal enterprises. This isn't hyperbole, this info is from court documents. I guess its all ok because his teams win games.
  10. Yes. Shameful what Irons did to him. This is what happens when you let felons run public schools. Irons for years would let kids go to school without uniforms if they paid him a dollar. He'd stand outside and collect the money every day. Told auditors this money went to the district. District had no record of receiving any of it. Floyd is a real life Clay Davis. Floyd, his sons, and Mike Knoll, were all wannabe gangsters who came up with a crooked mortgage scheme to rip off a couple guys from Town & Country. Knoll, a career criminal who used his nefarious earnings to bankroll Irons AAU program and multiple other scams, was also a longtime fed snitch along with Irons. They would rat on criminals so they could expand their own criminal enterprises. Floyd tried to snitch on his partners, lucky the judge didn't buy it. Still the FBI helped cut Irons possible prison time by more than half. Nothings changed since then. The Irons family is still involved in gangs and criminal enterprises while snitching to Feds and local cops. These are the guys shaping young men in St. Louis.
  11. Transferred in. Only went to Vashon 1 year. Not a real product of the program. Keep reaching. Actually going to Vashon hurt his rankings nationwide and decreased his offers. 99% of the players Vashon has produced this century end up in low level d-1 or d-2. High profile guys all have multiple transfers and underachieved.
  12. SLU reached out to Chris Mack and we were rebuffed. Vanderbilt was also told no. Mack wants a low pressure gig where he can win. He wasn't looking for a high major team or a team that wants to be high major. Floyd and Tony despise SLU. It would be a shame if we missed out on a lot of players that come out of the V except none really do. Irons prepares his teams to win at the HS level. Once they leave Vashon they all flame out. Any present and future SLU coaches should just stay away. Floyd went on several local media campaigns. After Melvin left SLU he did an interview with Irons on Sports Plus explaining his side of the story, assault charges, taking cash to play, etc etc. The one with McKinney's father was with the player Romar recruited that was ineligible, that Irons convinced to play on his semi pro team instead of sitting out a year and playing in college and then got shot shortly thereafter ending his career. There was also a big media campaign to get Joel Shelton to get an offer from SLU, if you get a second read up on Shelton fascinating story. It eats at Floyd and Tony that Bonner is the best player to come out of Vashon and the credit for his development, rightfully so, goes to Grawer. In the 40 years since with all their great teams they haven't produced a player even close to him.
  13. Plus the rivers aren't deep enough right now for much barge traffic.
  14. I had 13 of 16 teams in the sweet sixteen. I have 0 teams in the elite eight.
  15. Mine as well. I went from 2nd place to 31st in less than 24 hours.
  16. A good hire now does not wash away what he did with Crews and Ford.
  17. Melvin was very relaxed. Avila would have Robsinson in foul trouble in about 90 seconds.
  18. It is like a 12-20 season just never happened. May needs a home run hire to keep his job. Anything less with his track record and he's fired in disgrace.
  19. The area still has a couple bigger one day or weekend games with out of town big names. Highland Shootout Ramey Showcase usually at Lindenwood or Cardinal Ritter.
  20. Shot 30% from 3. Athletic wing that can't shoot. Are we picking these guys out of a hat?
  21. Is Ford still in charge? 7th or 8th man on Cornell?
  22. Sorry to tell you but our board of directors has been indicted, myself included and we are prohibited from doing business...and your car is being towed.
  23. Nah. The first of many and good chance he comes back anyway.
  24. Not a surprise that he is testing the waters. Will have to wait on Courtside to tell us whether he is considering coming back or not.
