  1. Loyola lost to Purdue by 16 A-10 was 5-0 tonight though.
  2. I am pretty certain I will be there at least for the evening games.
  3. Our city newspaper doesn't even give last nights game a write up or a box score I'm not surprised others fail to respect SLU.
  4. 2nd fav team is Mizzou. j/k Probably Charlotte
  5. You are right earl has said it was a tabloid. Others on the radio have been referring to it as a book. I wouldn't hate on Earl, we come from the same hood, I subscribed to his keep hoop alive when I was in Jr high. pdiddy will you be at Pattonville on friday? If there I'd like to shoot the breeze with you. I'll be wearing a blue cap with a billiken head on it. My real name is joe.
  6. Considering you can fold it in half and it's not stapled together I would very loosely call this a book.
  7. North-CBC game started late about quarter to 6 and lasted till almost 7:30. If Thomas was there he must have a really fast car to see two games going on at the same time. There may have been asst coaches there as I cannot readily identify them but they weren't in their team's garb.
  8. You can't tell from that picture cuz it is from underneath. Booker was not taller than either Justin Tatum or Alfred Nelson. Ryan Pierson was noticeably taller than Booker and was also listed at 6'8. If Booker is a legit 6'8 than Pierson is at least 6'10.
  9. Earl had his little newspaper he is always selling. He didn't have copies of books with him that I could see.
  10. You are confusing Torres Roundtree with Rolandis Woodland at Summitt or Marvin McNutt at Haz Central. Woodland used to play BBall and Football at Lutheran North and McNutt plays both both at Central, both are highly touted football recruits. Roundtree to my knowledge does not play football and certainly was not a top player on McCluer North.
  11. I went to the first two games of the Pattonville Invitational tonight. First game was Chaminade vs Jennings. Chaminade set the team scoring record for the Pattonville Tourney scoring in triple figures while Jennings got close to 80 in a run and gun game. Neither team had any prospects. The best player on the floor was Alfred Nelson for Chaminade who signed with Drury I think. Chaminade has a ton of shooters, brandon Lockhart a soph guard for them may garner a look down the road, he has really good handles. Both teams were very quick, but Jennings refuses or can't take any jump shots. They shot one three, besides that their longest shot attempts were free throws. Second game was the one to watch, CBC vs McCluer North. North ran em out of the gym up by 30 in the second half, finished them off 63-40. North's big three all scored in double figures but Torres Roundtree was the star, dominating the Stars play on the offensive end. He finished with 23 points, all but 2 scored before the fourth quarter. Most of his shots were on drives though he made a great 3 from half court at the buzzer to end the first quarter. Roundtree also had half a dozen boards and as many assists with a couple steals. Femi John scored 10 points and deferred to Roundtree most of the time. John was a little more active on the defensive end and showed a nice midrange game. Anthony Booker had 15 points and showed some range with a couple jumpers from 15 feet and out. He was decent on the boards, not great, he had a couple blocks but considering his jumping ability and athleticism he should be more active. Booker is generously listed at 6'8, he is more like 6'6 and he has small hands, not good for catching in the post. John is really athletic, and was touching the top of the square in warmups. Roundtree is the least athletic of the trio but I believe has the most basketball skills. If we have offered John, Roundtree should be getting offered from us too. CBC freshman Ryan Pierson started for the Cadets. He is a legit 6'8 or 9. Definetely not as far along as say Griffey was last year but he has some skills. He is someone to watch as he grows in skill and stature. Angres was the only D-1 coach at the game. I believe there were a couple guys scouting from some D-1 schools. Lindenwood, Meremac, and McKendree all had guys there. Earl was there hawking his wares as well.
  12. averaging in double figures is a little better than average. His shooting % and TO #s are a little off though.
  13. Where can I get schedules for the holiday tourneys, specifically Pattonville's which starts tonight? There will be a few other starting in Mid December. I have seen no coverage for HS basketball schedules in the Post.
  14. No doubt. referees one don't call the game as in the rule books. It is one thing to miss a call, it is another to ignore rule breaking. Consistency is something that is completely foreign to college refs. Referees also have the tendency for makeup calls which are ridiculous. The fact that home teams ALWAYS shoot more usually twice as many free throws than visiting teams tells you that college refs are crap. They have actually no interest in calling a fair game, it is always tilted one way or the other.
  15. I remember as a kid SI's preview in 88 had a top 40 rankings and SLU was 40, got a litle blurb about Roland. At the time I thought it was the greatest thing ever. I still have that issue.
  16. Donnigan gets another year for his A-10 title and NCAA appearance. Obviously though this guy does not have the coaching chops to get us an NCAA title. SLU should be holding its soccer program to a higher standard.
  17. >That is just silly to beat on Stemler - the kid has a right >to go where he wants. Without bringing up all the stuff >that had been talked about earlier on this topic suffice it >to say that us not getting him was a two way street - all >Sampson did was get his foot in the door when we let it >crack open. Too wishy washy. This is college basketball. If you aren't with us you are against us.
  18. Ch 46 uggh. I can't get that station at all in florissant. St Louis city and the inner county municipalities can get it though.
  19. Fox Midwest plays big 12 bball games just like they play football games. I'm not surprised to see this.
  20. Our hopes for possible multiple NCAA bids are going down the drain with these early season losses.
  21. Came back from a double digit deficit in the second half. Stemler played a lot. He would have given us some more depth but his game is very similar to Meyer's and Stemler does not appear to be demonstrably better at the D-1 level. Good to see the cheating Sampson and the relocal boy who spurned us lose to a mid major.
  22. Good game by Lawrence but lets not call him Larry Bird yet. At best I'd call Matt Lawrence a Troy Robertson, who also had a couple 27 point games.
