billiken_roy
at least a 1-0 baseball game has dominant pitching and probably some game saving catch within. i envision that 1-1 soccer tie as two teams kicking it back and forth at the half line. billiken_roy
skip says, "played 1 really bad season of baseball in grade school" you think that because baseball encompasses the single most difficult feat of any sport. hitting a baseball. nothing takes more skill and practice and concentration to succeed at. think of the fact that a 30% success rate is considered great. what if a basketball player makes 30% of his shots or a quarterback completes 30% of his passes. that is why i marvel more at good hitters like bonds or pujols than any other athlete. they are simply amazing. Tonka
Ha! I think I've heard it all now! Why must there be a contest in which is physically more demanding? If the most physically demanding were the case, soccer or basketball wouldn't be the case.
slufanskip
Thats the problem ... you can't envision what a real 1-1 soccer game is. A 1-0 pitchers dual could be just some really poor hitting, with alot of meaningless breaks inbetween. The difference is you understand baseball and all of its nuances ... you do not understand soccer. Much of the world finds baseball very boring ... they don't understand the game.
