Saint Louis University Re-Signs Soderberg

By Associated Press

November 4, 2004, 2:16 PM CST

ST. LOUIS -- Saint Louis University signed basketball coach Brad Soderberg to a new 5-year contract.

The agreement, announced Thursday, means Soderberg will coach the Billikens through the 2008-09 season. Terms were not announced.

Athletic director Cheryl Levick said Soderberg is the right person to lead the basketball program as it moves from Conference USA into the Atlantic 10 for the 2005-06 season.

"Brad is a proven leader," she said. "His ability to motivate college-age student-athletes and successfully coach that age group is perhaps his greatest strength."

Soderberg is entering his third season as coach of the Billikens and has a 35-27 record. He has a 10-year career head coaching record of 166-100. Soderberg took the Billikens into the postseason in his first two seasons.

The Billikens host their first exhibition game Friday night against University of Missouri-St. Louis.

sorry - forgot that it was register site...

and for some strange reason - the article is gone already - couldn't find archive.

was about the Lisch signing - since he was highly rated illinois kid.

am actually surprised that brad hasn't worked chicago more recruiting wise - he certainly has to be familiar as wisconsin has always recruited the chicagoland area....haven't seen the bills listed on kids up there.

as is - was a great day for bills fans - locking up two very very good kids - and protecting the home turf at the same time.
