OT: Winter in Indiana

Recommended Posts

Since this is an OT thread and I have never started a thread, here goes an Indiana poem dedicated to our hoosier MBMs:

It's winter in Indiana

and the gentle breezes blow

seventy miles an hour

at thiry five below

Oh, how I love Indiana

when the snow is up your butt,

you take a breath of winter air,

and your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful,

so I guess I'll hang around

I could never leave Indiana

'cause I'm frozen to the ground.

You could call this "winter farm life in Indiana" if you wish...  remember to milk those cows!

Wonderful!  Second only to Jim Nabors singing Back Home Again in Indiana!

Uh, what about the hogs?  They need to be fed too.

@Old guy, now you have started your own thread for the first time.

(Just because a thread is "OT" [off topic (i.e., SLU basketball)] doesn't mean that posts in that thread aren't supposed to related to that thread's topic.)

Thanks for taking care of this for me.

And, as a transplant from Missouri, I found it odd that they are quite proud of being called Hoosiers here.  If they only knew.

People from Indiana have every right to feel that being called Hoosiers is a correct, even respectful term. The word itself may mean something else in different areas, but for someone from Indiana it will always be a reference to their home State. You cannot take the symbolism of a word or an object like a flag, from the minds of people, the connections go deep and will not be changed.
