Taj79
Today: the Bonnies at Davidson with Davidson minus 3.5. The Bonnies must win to hold out any hope of reaching a top four double bye. They have to win out and hope somebody does them a favor by beating either Rhode island or Richmond to enable a tie. Problem is, the Bonnies lost to both and do not hold a favorable tie-breaker. Davidson can do nothing; even with wins they will find themselves somewhere in the 5 through 10 mess. Tomorrow: Duquesne at Mason. Mason should win. Much like Davidson, it will mean little as their plight is pretty much a lock in the 5 to 10 morass. A Duquesne loss sets up the Dooks and Joeys for title of head bottom feeder on Saturday at the Palatial Palumbo Palace. Geedubya at Fordham. More of the five-thru-ten tango. It might matter if we knew the fat eof the PIG rankings in order to look forward to a second round game in Pittsburgh. that's always good. Richmond at Umass. Has implications for Richmond. They need to win out and maintain a 3/4 hold. Umass looked pretty good against La Salle on Sunday but La Salle plays little defense. Richmond needs to and should prevail. Rhodey at the Joeys. Should be no contest as #3 faces #14 right now. But the Rams could have a trap game coming off their big win at home against VCU. They could take the Joeys lightly. All the good vibes the VCU win brought could go trash can real fast. Rams should win. Bills vs. La Salle. Big game #1. Why? We're always the biggest game of the night. A win or loss may not matter especially if Richmond holds serve against Umass. We're #11. Johnson, Powell and Price should be too much for us but La Salle is weird. We can win. I hope we win. VCU at Dayton. Big game #2. For really all the marbles. A VCU win ties things up and they will have beaten Dayton twice. A Dayton win gives them the league lead with one to play at GeeDubya on Saturday. A win/loss coupled with an expected VCU win over Mason on Saturday would give Dayton the title because they beat Rhode Island and Richmond if Rhode Island gets third. If Richmond gets third, does VCU's 2 and 0 against Richmond trump Dayton's 1 and 0? And that's why you got to love this conference come march. Wasn't that ending with the Bonnies and Davidson bizarre with Mobley's turnovers. I see in the stats he had 6 total but the last two in the last minute kept them from winning. The first one he goes up for the shot and the ball goes out of bounds behind him and the second he is dribbling down the court and tries to stop and travels and falls over. Taj79
CB: sorry, didn't see it, can't comment. Spreads are in for tonight: Mason over Duquesne by 8.5. Geedubya over Fordham by one. Richmond only by 1.5 at Umass (interesting). Rhode Island giving the Joeys 8 at Hawk Hill. Dayton by four at home with VCU. And La Salle giving us 7 at our place. I think both Richmond and Rhodey close the book on the top four seeds despite Umass getting some love here late.
CBFan
LaSalle is up and down so I hope for a win tonight on Senior night. I agree the Richmond UMass spread is interesting. UMass is a strange team that has underachieved and could be up for an upset. Dayton and VCU will be fun to watch.
