Cowboy
nm does anyone else hate it when after one question they say - joining us on kfns is billiken head coach rick majerus - after one question?
Quickdraw
He said some of the same stuff we've heard before--changing habits is hard. He did say that our shooting in recent games has been down due, in large part, to ineffective passing. The players need to make passes so that the shooter can take advantage of timing. He sees Bryce and Barry as players who have not learned to "embrace physical contact." Eckerle seems to already have a better grasp of team play, whereas Anthony Mitchell's background has been dominated by one-on-one play. In terms of the tone of his comments, I would not say he dumped on anyone.

billiken_roy
it was a difficult interview to listen to considering how engaging majerus can be. we've heard majerus tell the stories and be as charming as any great late night talk show guest, but that was almost like listening to some guy testifying at a senate hearing on the dangers of lead paint. cheeseman
I agree. He also talked about how it took Pinkel 6 years to get MU where it is now so it simply is going to take a little time to get his system in place. He said he thought that KL was aiming the ball more rather than shooting and he used the example of a pitcher trying to aim to hit his spot rather than simply trusting his skill and pitch the ball. He liked the progress that TL was making and though it has not been as fast as he would like - he admits that he is impatient on these things so not TL's fault - but he has seen some real progress from Tommie. He loves KL's approach because he tries so hard and you could not ask for anything else.
Cowboy
he also mentioned when talking about fg% how the big guy from last year drew double teams which they do not have this year he said and frank and bob agreed, it does not take confidence to play physical and the team is not familiar with the offense so they don't know where and when the good shots are
