  1. True. I don't think his knee was "bad" per se, just that the strength/conditioning/confidence wasn't there. And of he was behind in early pratices, kinda hard to make it up with other players getting into a rotation.
  2. I am speculating here too, but I think going into the season, Diarra's knee was not 100%, and that, obviously, kinda put him a ways behind everyone else rotation wise.
  3. If I could, I'd like to add a side note to Coach Ford's halftime interview prediction. In every pregame interview, Coach Ford will act as if whatever team we are about to play is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I know every coach does it, and it's part of keeping the guys focused and respecting every opponent, but Ford is so good at it, makes it so believable. He could make my former 5th grade Kirkwood Junior Basketball League team sound like the Chicago Bulls dynasty of the 90's. It's really fascinating to listen to with Rammer and Earl on the radio.
  4. Notice how you conveniently ignored everything else I said. Ignored how Thatch has been out all year. Ignored how we're the best rebounding team in the league. Ignored how we shot 55% from the field and 60% from 3 just 5 games ago. Whatever fits your narative sweetheart.
  5. It's hilarious to me when a dude watches 1 game, we play poorly (but still win by double digits) and wabts to start talking $h!t like he knows something.
  6. You didn't come here to talk hoops, you came here to troll. But since you seem intent on continuing this charade...let's talk hoops. Yes, we shot really poorly tonight. But just 5 games ago, we hit a school-record SEVENTEEN 3's. We've got a kid who has barely played this year, who probably would've started every game so far if healthy, in Fred Thatch who is about to return. We play stellar Defense. We've shot significantly better from the line the past few games. Oh...and if we miss 40 shots in a game, you can realistically expect we'll get AT LEAST 15 of the boards on those missed shots, because we're THAT GOOD of a rebounding team. We're 11-2 with our only 2 losses coming against top-15 teams (and before you even start with all the 'Seton Hall isn't that good' BS, when Powell is actually healthy, they ARE that good) and gave undefeated Auburn all they could handle IN Alabama. It's not all that difficult to look at a stat line from 1 game and use it as a basis for a biased, misleading argument. You could do the exact same thing for every team in the country. No more questions your honor. The witness may step down.
  7. Totally agree. I also think it will depend on how good teams not named Dayton and VCU play against significantly better competition in conference play. For instance, if we win this week @ Duquesne and they turn out to be a top team in A10 play, I would consider that a "marquee win." However, if Duquesne fades and their current record is more reflective of their extremely weak OOC schedule, it may not be considered a "marquee win" at the end of the season. But for the most part, I agree with you. If we finish top-4, we will have collected some signature wins along the way. That's kinda why I posted it. Optimistic way to look at it is: if we take care of business and finish top-4 in the league, there's a good chance we're in.
  8. "It might be possible to end up 4th (or tied for 4th) by beating up on the bottom half of the league, and without notching really marquee wins in the league, and at that point, this resume would be of the 'quantity over quality' subtype, which is never a good place to be in the committee's eyes on selection Sunday." Brennan's exact words in the final paragraph of his answer about SLU. Just posting what he said.
  9. Belmont beats Western Kentucky 79-62.
  10. Eastern Washington beats Weber St. 79-77
  11. Hey guys, wasn't sure which thread was best to post this in, and a little bit of old news. But I haven't seen anybody post it yet (plz forgive me if it's a duplicate). Just noticed this, on the Athletic, Eamonn Brennan did a "mailbag" question about our Billikens. It asked "if SLU beats K-State (obviously this was written before that game) and finishes top-4 in the A10, will they have done enough to get an at-large?" He explained that he wavered back and forth on the question 6 or 7 times and his final answer was kind of a lot of "what if's" but he basically said that if we finish in the top-4 by simply beating up on the bottom half of the league, the answer is probably "no". However, if we finish in the top-4 with a few wins over Dayton/VCU/Richmond/Dukes/Rhodey, the answer is probably "yes". Just thought I'd share.
  12. Hey guys, followed the board for a while, but never really posted, but wanted to help out if I can. I "cut the cord" earlier this year. I had the ATT bundle and still use them for wireless internet. They're going to try to jack up the cost of your internet since you won't be using the bundle anymore. What you're going to have to do is insist that that is unacceptable. Insist that you can get "new customer" prices for internet with Charter for $50. They're going to try to give you new "discounts" for the internet/tv bundle. You're going to have to talk to like 3 different people, repeating yourself over and over. But just keep insisting that they can either get $50 from you for internet, or nothing at all. It might help to say that if they won't give you the $50 price, you will write some scathing reviews saying that ATT cares more about new customers than existing ones. It will be a long, frustrating process that will make you want to pull your hair out, but once they (finally) agree...it's $50 for internet, $50 for YouTube TV and $6 for ESPN+. So it will all be worth it. Hope this helps. All the best.
