  1. I always appreciate the updates to these threads, so I figured I would contribute by putting together a scholarship grid. Let me know if you see any inaccuracies on this initial version. @Pistol Feel free to utilize however would be helpful.
  2. That poster also claimed Illinois was in good shape with Nesbitt only a few days before. He/she has no idea, and now is backpedaling to save face.
  3. Good post. Somehow I missed the news about SFA being penalized. That’s pretty wild.
  4. Does anyone have insight into one of our current players supposedly leaking or hinting at Nesbitt’s commitment? It’s being discussed on social media, but I haven’t seen it.
  5. Brian Snow is very selective in making predictions, and generally only makes them when he’s certain on the outcome. He is 250 for 265 all time on crystal ball predictions.
  6. There’s a fairly consistent pattern for local top 150 guys we land: (1) staff builds a strong relationship early; (2) local insiders, including a few on this board, begin publicizing the real possibility of the player choosing SLU; (3) national recruiting analysts join in to say SLU has a real chance; (4) player commits to SLU a few weeks later. I like where this is headed...
  7. To be fair, they would’ve made it this year. Regardless, it goes to show how debilitating one bad HC hire can be for a program.
  8. Yes. The current situation in general is very helpful for local recruits.
  9. Your obsession with this is strange. You say you are focusing on the future, but yet you continue referencing programs that are known for their performance in the past. Like Cowboy said, let's focus on winning games. The reputation boost will come if and when we string together successful seasons.
  10. 1. Text on the side looks strange. 2. Why is "SC" on an island? 3. Arch and Rivers graphic is a blur. I'll give them credit for using a unique shape for the crest.
  11. Crest is really bad, everything else is great (including colors).
  12. The Pac-12 postponed all sports through the end of the year.
  13. This is true, and increasingly likely to be reality. I also think it’s entirely possible the NCAA would expand the tournament field if things have returned to normal by early next year. They have been exploring the idea for years, and this would provide the perfect rationale for doing so.
  14. This is the offer that worries me. Memphis has been slow playing him, but an offer was inevitable. Hopefully it won’t matter.
  15. Hyndman spent 5 years at Fulham, including 2 years playing for the senior team. He made 25 appearances across those 2 years.
  16. A few of us said the same earlier this offseason and some posters laughed. All personal matters/jokes aside, I totally agree. He has the body to be an NBA player (on top of the other obvious skills).
  17. We really didn’t recruit McKinney very hard, which may have been the staff’s choice or because they knew he wasn’t interested. Regardless, he was never a top local target for us.
  18. I don't think it has to be either or. Relegation + real financial fair play rules would be the ideal combination. In the NFL, for example, the salary cap ensures parity; however, there is no mechanism to keep teams from tanking.
  19. IMO having 30-40 teams split into two leagues with relegation is better than 30ish team in one league with no repercussion for performing poorly. The last 5 games of the EPL season were entertaining for two reasons alone: (1) fight for the top 4; and (2) fight to avoid relegation. The fact you cited is somewhat irrelevant to the point, although Leicester City proved a quick ascent is possible and incredibly entertaining. BTW, I'm not arguing relegation would rapidly increase the MLS' popularity. Rather, I think it is a far superior structure across sports for a variety of reasons.
  20. +1. Relegation is the best feature in sports. It'll never happen in the U.S., which is unfortunate.
  21. Luck or not, Liverpool outpaced Man U and Chelsea by 33 points and likely would've created a bigger gap if anyone really challenged them. It's hard to imagine Liverpool below 80 points next season. On the other hand, 80 points seems like a realistic ceiling for Chelsea (who I thoroughly enjoy watching).
  22. Interestingly, they had the Okoro commitment pegged when most people thought he was going to Illinois State. At least one poster on that board is connected to one of Illinois’ coaches.
  23. You forgot to mention that David didn't even kill Goliath!
  24. The irony in their creepiness it they could be committing recruiting violations in the process (although I realize the NCAA has basically been forced to ignore this fact).
  25. *no reason to mimic the rest of the world. Fixed it for you.
