  1. Jeez Illini Board is already getting feisty.

”Man what a strange recruitment on Nesbitt. Earlier this month his recruitment went National in scope with involvement from Texas, Alabama, Memphis, Maryland, and Illinois. Only to be upstaged by his supposed premature commitment to a community college. Something doesn't add up here. Sort of reminds me of the Carte Are Gordon recruitment.“

In the comments, it is mentioned several times that the Illini are already using the saliva tests. I don’t know much about them. Just thought I’d post Rothstein’s tweet.

I’ve been taking the saliva test twice weekly for the past month and I think it’s great. Easy to administer (hardest part is not eating, drinking, or brushing teeth 30 minutes before test) and quick results (4-48 hours). Not sure on the accuracy numbers though.  I think U of I is doing an amazing job with students returning. All students, faculty and staff have to get tested twice a week, an app to track testing and contact tracing through geo-location, and can’t enter campus buildings or classes if you haven’t taken your required tests.

I think this has been posted before but it's a really nice highlight video. The step back 3 at the buzzer at about the 6:18 mark is nice. He has nice form, a quick release, and finishes with either hand. I can't help but feel this kid is going to surprise people.

Jacobs showed flashes of that. In the first UMass game we lose without him stepping up and being aggressive down the stretch. He was also assertive in the Valpo game. I agree that he needs to show that consistency a LOT more frequently, but I don't think it's fair to say he never showed it. We have some glimpses.

I thought he was great in the Tulane game where he was lights out from 3. Making a couple shots seems to greatly increase his confidence.

  5. Don’t think I’ve seen this posted but Markhi did a little periscope interview on twitter and talks some about the Bills. It kind of hops all over the place but starts talking Billikens at 10:30 in. Sounds like he has a likes his relationship with Coach Ford and all the other coaches and really emphasized how he like the “family” aspect of team blue.

when is the last time a senior was a 1st round pick?    i am asking i dont know.   might have been last year.   but it sure seems like over the last couple of decades the draft is all about finding the diamond in the rough or player with unproven potential.     seniors seem to pay a price for not coming out early.   i dont agree with this line of thinking just seems what it has become.

There are a couple of seniors every year that get drafted in the first round, usually not lottery picks though.  There are a lot more in the second round.

    2019:

    -Pick 11: Cameron Johnson (UNC)

    -Pick 20: Matisse Thybulle (Washington)

    -Pick 26: Dylan Windler (Belmont)

    -Second round: 9 selected

    2018:

    -Pick 21: Grayson Allen (Duke)

-Pick 22: Chandler Hutchinson (Boise State)

    -Second round: 8 selected

    2017:

    -Pick 29: Derrick White (Colorado)

    -Pick 30: Josh Hart (Villanova)

    -Second round: 11 selected

    2016:

    -Pick 6: Buddy Hield (Oklahoma)

    -Pick 12: Taurean Prince (Baylor)

-Pick 14: Denzel Valentine (Mich State)

    -Pick 20: Caris LeVert (Michigan)

    -Pick 25: Brice Johnson (UNC)

    -Second round: 10 selected

    2015:

    -Pick 9: Frank Kaminsky (Wisconsin)

-Pick 19: Jerian Grant (Notre Dame)

    -Pick 20: Delon Wright (Utah)

-Pick 27: Larry Nance Jr (Wyoming)

    -Second round: 13 selected

  7. A thing I've recently noticed about Ingvi's time here was that he built some stronger relationships with the other players that I wouldn't have imagined.  After he left he still interacts on IG with Goodwin, Jacobs, Isabell, KC, TJ, and Thatch.  That doesn't mean they are best friends or anything, but makes me think that he fit in well and got along with Team Blue.  He does seem like a big "what if" for the Bills just like Santos, Henriquez, and Graves
