  1. This is very, very interesting. In addition to top 100 guys, OK has identified some hidden gems the big recruiting services didn't rank. I'd be more than ok with this.
  2. I don't disagree but Pollard was much more under control from day one of his freshman year. Their starting points in terms of college development were worlds apart.
  3. According to the graphic is has been only 3:30 without scoring. That cant be right.
  4. Announcers are brutal, officials are brutal, and the invisible cap over the basket is brutal.
  5. MC can't buy a 3. Luckily Reggie is playing like a man and cleans it up.
  6. Hard to find guards that can keep up in a foot race with Miles and Bishop. Nice break for 2.
  7. Why does it seem like the rims at Dayton aren't friendly to shooters. For both teams not just us.
  8. MC moving well tonight, good burst on the coast to coast.
  9. The quote isn't about bending his knees, it is poor phrasing. What I think Crews is referring to is that Miles tends to play tall and upright. It can look stiff at times and not as fluid as other players. By bending his knees he could tap into a little more explosiveness and it also helps with things such as shooting. His statement is an over simplification of what he means but this is something I agree with JC on.
  10. According to some K-State twitter, Diarra is announcing his decision on February 3rd. The writer who the info comes from posted in on some K-State forum that required a subscription to view, so I am going based off of the conversation on Twitter. Basically, Diarra is announcing February 3rd and K-State is the presumed favorite from what I have gathered. Edit: Also, according to Yahoo, Diarra had an official visit to SLU on January 9th. http://sports.yahoo.com/ccc/basketball/recruiting/player-Cartier-Diarra-187387
  11. Riverview won again yesterday, 4-1 with whole roster now. Zeke posted this little short video. For a player who doesn't have much film, figured this is at least something.
  12. There doesn't have to be a direct correlation between success in one revenue sport and another. It is a relatively weak argument for why a team shouldn't be founded. If you want to say that there aren't enough resources to spread around I get that, but if the boosters sat down and said their money is going to football I am sure you would see something happen. Their money ultimately determines what happens athletically. If they say fix the basketball program that will happen. While unlikely, if they back football then football will potentially happen.
  13. According to the MSHAA: If you transfer schools, you will be ineligible for 365 days, unless your circumstances meet one of the exceptions listed in the MSHSAA Residence and Transfer Rules (By-Law 3.10). Make an appointment with the school's athletic director to review these exceptions. Several, but not all, are described below. Exception 1: If you move with your entire family to your new school district, you will be eligible at your new school provided you were eligible in all other respects at your former school and provided there are no other issues with the transfer. You and your entire family must move to the new residence at the same time prior to attending classes. Always check with your school principal or athletic director before you transfer to determine whether it will affect your eligibility. Discipline follows a student to a new school. Being expelled from a school also causes 365 days of ineligibility for a student. Exception 2: A student may be eligible immediately at the school of his or her choice upon first being promoted from the 8th grade into the 9th grade, provided the student is eligible in all other respects. Exception 10: Foreign Exchange Students are eligible for varsity competition for one year only and only if they are seniors (semester 7 or 8), provided they are participating in an exchange program listed by CSIET. However, no member of the school's coaching staff for the sport concerned may serve as a host family. You shall become ineligible for 365 days if you transfer to another school for athletic reasons.
  14. http://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaaf/writer/jon-solomon/25457033/college-sports-discussing-eliminating-academic-standards-for-freshmenThe NCAA is apparently looking into getting rid of initial eligibility requirements for athletes. This could greatly influence someone such as Draggs or TilMon if he hadn't transfered away. Obviously it is has not happened yet, but the fact the NCAA is talking about it is interesting nonetheless.
  15. I thought if you transferred in the ncaa it isn't called a redshirt, but that you still have the 5 years to do 4. In other words, I believe academically he is a junior but eligibility is a sophomore based simply on transfer policies.
  16. Not that I want to stop the blue kool-aid from flowing, but i think we should look at this within some aspect of reason. It is still a small sample on some of these guys. Granted, last night was good for this new lineup and Hines did play well. However, I am not ready to proclaim him as the best PG on the roster at least for a couple more games. My apprehension does not stem from an endorsement of MR, rather just the desire to see Hines play more and showcase what he can do. I love the combination of Hines and Bishop, but just don't want to set myself up for disappointment if I claim them as something they are not. On a related note, I think this recent 3 game stretch has put something into perspective for me. MR on the most part has played well this season. Yet, the offense looks much better with him playing less. This would seem to not make much sense, but I think there is a logical reason for it. Miles' game revolves around his ability to draw fouls and not much else. This is great that he had the attacking mentality, but sometimes the offense could really stall with him on the court. His lack of an outside jumper made perimeter ball reversals less of a true threat to the defense. Now that we have more perimeter shooters on the court, it is paying huge dividends. I like this new lineup even though the defense is not great, and hopefully we can roll with and it continues to be effective.
  17. I will say this because I didn't get to actually watch the game, I'm glad we got the win but Davidson is not sound defensively. That being said, I am more than play trotting this lineup out there if it means points. Defense isn't being played regardless so why not score a little?
  18. I know that, which only weakens whatever perceived reasons the coaches had for not playing him. The narrative has been from some that his D is what keeps him out of the rotation. Irrespective of no one on the team playing good defense, he has to play because he is a threat offensively.
  19. For all of his deficiencies on D, Bishop has to play if we want a chance at winning. The kid just makes things happen on offense.
