  1. I saw Collins once this past season. He's good. He can pass, he can shoot. No one plays much defense in HS, so that still is a question to be answered. I don't care if he is a 1 star or a 5 star, he is good. I don't care about his AAU stats, he is good. I don't care if he plays for the Beagles or the Poodles, he is good. I want him in Billiken blue.
  2. Signs are pointing towards Rhody naming a coach maybe as early at tomorrow. Besides the three candidates listed in the A10 thread, Micah Shrewsberry from the Celtics received an interview. Shrewsberry was interviewed for the Butler job, and didn't get it, and was interviewed for the UMass job, and didn't get it. If you buy into the URI message boards, current Assist Head Coach Cox would retain the recruiting class and all key current players including Russell, Dowtin and Langevine.
  3. 59 on the April 3 open market list. Take your pick. 5 have already landed.
  4. Credits are still being paid for Northern Iowa's 2016 NCAA Game. Loyola joined the Valley in July 2013, so they would likely get payouts from Wichita State's 2014 - 2017 runs. Boat load of money. I drive a 2012 Honda Civic. How does your new Mercedez Maybach run? You are in a higher pay bracket than most of us.
  5. The WCC apparently is changing their % in order to appease and hopefully retain Gonzaga. They are also reducing conference games from 18 to 16 to allow Gonzaga to schedule higher RPI teams than the conference provides. Interesting.
  6. Sometimes you like to argue simply for the sake of arguing, don't you. This tourney, Loyola earned the MVC $8.1 million paid out over 6 years equally to all teams. I don't have the current pot that Wichita State and N Iowa has earned that is still being pulled. I guess $8 million to $10 million isn't that big a deal to you. I wish I was in your financial bracket. I bet it is a big deal to Loyola. Coming into A10, they likely start at the back of the pack.. April Fools, right? If so, you got me
  7. If Moser dumps out of Loyola, will they be the Flavor of the Month next year? How solid would the program be without Moser? The three Division setup didn't work too well in CUSA. But it makes scheduling easy with the way you set it up. If Loyola leaves the A10, they leave behind a boat load of money in NCAA credits that would take years for them to recoup in the A10. Interesting article today in the PD, that Gonzaga is likely staying in the WCC, and they will LOWER the number of conference games from 18 to 16 so that Gonzaga can schedule higher RPI schools than what the lower half of the WCC is providing. Is this the trend for non-P5 schools who will all be at 20 soon? Will there be enough higher RPI schools to schedule? Should the A10 do this? That would be hard to do while adding a school and going to 3D. But I would relish another Midwest school in the conference.
  8. They gave each team in Pool 6 a win v PAC 12. So the A10 was 1-2, and I assume picked up a bag o' cash for the phantom win.

  10. SCHEDULE UPDATE | Tomorrow's game has been changed to a doubleheader beginning at 3pm due to impending inclement weather on Easter Sunday. 8:00 PM - 30 Mar 2018

  12. Dunphy will be 70 years old after next season. He's not going anywhere else.
  13. In my view, Foreman is a one trick pony. It is a very, very good trick, but his game is slashing and finishing at the rim. He did that to the tune of a very great 63%. But how many 10-15 foot jump shots did he hit this year? I don't know but I'm guessing you could count them on two hands. His 3.4 rpg was low for someone playing his minutes. His ORB were 1.1 rpg, but how many of them were on bunnies he missed? He also only blocked 10 shots, which was half the number Anthony blocked in significantly fewer minutesand half of Johnson's total. 51% FT shooter, no thanks. After 4 years of college practices, you would hope that he had it figured out. It ain't gonna happen. He did play on the point of the 1-3-1, but if you noticed, he tired quickly out there. After a few shifts, he was a step slow. Yes we need Foreman moving forward. Starting is for high schoolers. Let him get his minutes in key spurts. He can bring a lift to the team.
  14. Their website is not very helpful. The tourney starts at 6 PM CT on their twitter feed. With 10 minute games, I imagine it is impossible to tell when each team will play. I'm expecting multiple games happening at the same time, so more confusion. It does look like there will be three games for each team tonight, with 4 team pools. I can't find out what teams are in the A10 pool.
  15. STOP RIGHT THERE. Many on this board INSISTED that Coach Ford promised, yes promised J Goodwin the PG position, no conditions attached. Now what are you saying, Coach should back down from his "promise' and put Goodwin at off guard?
  16. Ya all are missing the big one. On this very forum, billikens.com, St. Louis Hoops Insider proclaimed that Bess has point guard skills and could have played PG for Izzo. Coach Ford didn't see it that way, but if STLHI says it, it's true. Problem of backup PG solved.
  17. Until Welmer says he's not coming back, he's coming back. 50/50.
  18. VCU is at 13. They beat UVA 11-3 last night. They had 3,621 in attendance in Richmond. The teams with the two current longest winning streaks in the nation will battle it out this weekend.
  19. I'm simply defining 757's "he can't shoot". Why do you think he would want to come back here?
  20. Okay. 38% from the arc is bad. 80% from the line is bad. 42% inside the arc is bad. There are a lot of bad shooters in the NCAA.
  21. Those were nominated whatever that means. The guys playing are the four I listed. Aldridge and Adams are playing in an All Star game somewhere else.
  22. Fourth player is Jonathon Williams from VCU. Looks like most conferences are going with four guards/wings.
  23. Mack was recruiting last night via the phone. He reoffered Romeo Langford and several other Indiana HS recruits. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/recruiting/2018/03/27/romeo-langford-louisville-basketball-chris-mack-recruiting/464094002/ Here is the list of at least 14 2019 offers made last night. Pretty impressive for someone not hired by UofL. They also extended at least 14 scholarship offers to Class of 2019 prospects, hoping to hit the ground running with what will be Mack's first class at Louisville. The 2019 offers included: Kahlil Whitney, a 6-foot-7 four-star wing who plays for Roselle Catholic, a Newark-area power Keion Brooks, a 6-8 five-star wing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, who was previously considering Xavier Armaan Franklin, a 6-4, unranked guard from Indianapolis-Cathedral who burst on the scene with a breakout junior season Ashton Hagans, a top-10, 6-4 guard from Georgia who is eligible to reclassify in the 2018 class Josh Nickelberry, a North Carolina guard who ranks in the top 60 nationally Cole Anthony, one of the top-five players in the nation, a 6-1 guard from New York Justin Moore, a four-star guard from DeMatha Catholic High, a Washington, D.C., area powerhouse Rocket Watts, a four-star combo guard from Detroit Isaiah Stewart, a five-star center at La Lumiere in Indiana Aidan Igiehon, a four-star center who had Xavier give him one of his first scholarship offers Jalen Lecque, a 6-4, five-star combo guard from North Carolina Anthony Harris, a 6-3 four-star combo guard who plays at Paul VI High, V.J. King's alma mater Greg Gantt, a top-75, 6-7 power forward
