  1. Calls from last night that you don't see much anymore: 12 traveling violations (I agree on everyone of them, but traveling isn't called much anymore.) And Goodwin's carry of the ball. That was a head scratcher. Yuri's taking the ball out of bounds after Perkins inbounded it, was, well, let's just say humorous.
  2. He is listed having an abdominal injury, and Coach McCall said their is no timetable for his return. According to the Injury Report, he has been out since mid December.
  3. Starting a new thread for this year. As pointed out on the older thread, Coach was on with Frank this AM. Coach complimented the atmosphere. He pretty much repeated what he said yesterday. Frank asked about Jacobs. (He said French and Gordan talked about him before they went on the air last night.) Ford said he was 'brutally honest' with Jacobs, pretty much laying it on the line. My guess is he gave him an ultimatum on upping his game. Not necessarily scoring, but rebounding, defending. etc. Jacobs looked Coach in the eye and said 'Yes, you are right Coach'. No excuses given. On Jimerson, yes he will get a red shirt. He is lifting in the weight room. Should be off crutches in the next week or two. Thatch is practicing 20 to 30 minutes per day. He hasn't been cleared to play in a game. Coach doesn't know when he will be cleared. Coach said Jimerson watching the games and practices will help him. Watching and studying the game will benefit him. Frank on Collins, he was scoring 30 per game for St. Marys at the end of last year. Ford adjusted their press offense to get the ball to Collins which helped them out. Next progression is for him to hit his jump shots. His hands have something to do with it. Ford is looking for Collins to make himself a shooter this summer. Ford said Collins is similar to his PG at UMass Chris Lowe, now on the staff, who struggled to score as a freshman. LaSalle played a triangle and two on UMass and didn't even guard Loee. That motivated Lowe to develop as a shooter. Says Collins will do the same. Said Collins is a winning player. Frank "What do you have to do in conference to be NCAA worthy?" Coach "11 gets us 22 wins. 12 A10 wins gets us 23, that gives us a shot. We just have to win games. We are in position to talk about these things." In the A10, Dayton is on top, with about 8 or 9 teams then all bunched, able to finish in the top 4. https://590thefan.com/radio-shows/press-box/ Segment 2
  4. He had 18 against S. Miss, a SLU record that may never be broken. He did have Gray, Douglass and Bonner to dish to. I may be wrong on this, but I think he transferred here after a couple of years at Kansas State, playing for Hartman. KSU has a long history of stealing local talent. DeSmet grad?
  5. Excellent job as usual Pistol. Some additions in Red.
  6. Following GW, our upcoming stretch @Richmond, Dayton, @Davidson could well make or break any At Large aspirations.
  7. He said it after the Bethune Cookman game. I don't need to go find it. Now he denies it. Whatever. Have a good evening to you too.
  8. Okay. You don't have to admit you wanted Jacobs benched for Perkins. Carry on.
  9. It was last game when you wanted Jacobs benched. How soon you forgot. I never said it was today. Go back a few days if you care to. I'm saying Jacobs continues to earn his minutes.
  10. Ha. Nice change of tune. So now are you a Jacobs believer? There is only one GloryDays/TRavTFord/glazedandconfused.
  11. You were ready to throw Jacobs under the bus. Aren’t you glad Ford ignored you? (Ford doesn’t read this board .)
  12. Basketball can cause injuries. Thatch’s issue is medical.
  13. Good thing Ford didn’t take your idea of benching Jacobs for Perkins.
  14. Our opponent in next year's MWC - A10 challenge, San Diego State, passed their toughest remaining test last night, beating a good Utah State team on the road in Logan. SDState will be favored in their remaining 14 games, so they have a solid chance at running the regular season table. The Aztecs have 4 Q1 wins, so their lofty position in the polls is justified.
  15. Perkins and Jacobs both missed the front end of 1 and 1's. Effectively, that's 4 missed free opportunities. If/when French gets to a 50% FT average, I will rejoice. I'll take a 38% FT French over no French at all.
  16. The injured Mitchell is Kolton Mitchell, a guard. Tre Mitchell played in their last game against Akron. Weeks did not. As you stated, Weeks is a 48.5% 3FG shooter (32 of 66), so if he is unavailable, that is huge. This will be an interesting matchup of two freshmen point guards, Collins and 6'3" Sean East. East is a scorer, 11.6 ppg, as well as a solid distributor at 5.2 apg. They do have another player out for the season, John Buggs, a freshman guard. And just found this concerning Weeks. Dibaji Walker is a 6'9" transfer from Cleveland State. He likely could supply some depth. He played 17 minutes in his first game back and launched 6 three's, hitting one.
  17. Is that @SluSignGuy posing as a Colonial on the GW logo?
  18. Today the game is a Q1 loss for us as Duquesne is at 75. Not that any loss is good. If Duquesne plays respectable, this shouldn't go lower than a Q2 loss.
  19. No idea. Maybe the rims were tight....or loose. Checked the play by play and both Perkins and Jacobs missed the front end of 1 and 1. So effectively the trio was 0-6. For those three I would have written in 5 of 6. Yes they are good FT shooters, but not last night.
  20. French actually brought our FT% up last night. He hit 40%, while the team was at 38.9%. The culprits were Jacobs, Hargrove and Perkins. They were a collective 0-4, with at least one miss on the front of a 1 and 1. More shots for French!!
  21. Belmont was a Q3 win prior to tonight. I doubt it they fall to Q4 solely on this game. But the hopes of them moving up to Q2 are gone.
