To reassure you Moytoy, HIV is not easily transmitted. However stupidity is entirely a different matter.

For those of you that never served in the Army or other services: The popular notion of how things are done inside the Army (and other services) is not true. The Army is a place where you get reamed repeatedly for whatever it is that displeases some superior or the other. Remember the Navy saying; "BOHICA" (Bend Over Here It Comes Again). Anyone having to live and advance within such a system has to develop a very thick hide, enough said. If Crews was rough with some kid in the team, boo hoo to the pussyfooted sensitive player, what kind of a soldier is he going to be anyway? When you are in the Army, you are not following the rules of upper class etiquette or political correctness. You are not a gentleman in the Army, you are a soldier, you are different than civilians are, you think differently too. You are in an organization that trains constantly and is in the business of killing people. If you have not served your really have no clue.

I have read a number of positive comments about Hinson. We should remember that we only have 12 scholarship players for this season. I think it is reasonable to believe that if any of the walk ons proves to be able to play well and mesh with the team he may get a share of the playing minutes this season. Perhaps this is what Hines has in mind and why he is trying so hard in these practices.

Bishop and Neufeld (and Welmer as well) are raw freshmen who have never played D1 in their lives, of course they can look raw. It is nice that you think Neufeld does not look like a stiff.

This is wonderful news, and he will be reunited with Conklin to make it even better. All the best to Jordair. Australia is a great place to be at.

Bonwich, sad to read your story. It is a terrible fact, but many people have and will continue to undergo similar job situations with increasing stress and decreasing salaries until the time comes when something comes unglued and the person walks out. This type of situation has affected a lot of people in a lot of industries. Hope you do much better at your present position. All the best to you. -
It would be worse if you were an actuary.

Hey Kshoe, there is absolutely nothing in life that provides a 100% certainty of anything. Come on, you are old enough to have found that out already. There is no point in saying "I probably go with the guy that with 100% certainty will fill that hole..." This is a bunch of boloney, suppose this guy comes in with a written guarantee and does not perform, what do you do, return him to store you got him at and get a replacement guaranteed player? Everything, and I mean everything in life has some chance of going wrong somehow or somewhere. Stop criticizing Zeke in a roundabout way and pay attention to reality. If he starts playing and falls short of expectations then go ahead and criticize him, but first give him a chance will you.

Dear Lord I so wish the playing season starts so we can put all of this stuff to rest. I would like to make a point, my wife has had season tickets and has renewed them without fail for over 30 years. These tickets have been kept through thick and thin, through victory and defeat. through good and bad seasons, and through good and bad coaches because of her feelings for SLU and her liking for basketball. The important thing for her is neither value nor show off, it is SLU and basketball. I am not a SLU alumnus and just joined her a few years ago. I have found myself sharing her feelings for SLU and the Bills. I think SLU deserves our support rather than our bitching and our grandstanding and hope (no, I am not incapable of seeing reality) for a much better season this year.

Thank you Jimbo, Zeke deserves our welcome into the team.

Good to hear from you Wiz, yes this is a Rick Majerus type of player or so it seems.

Let's agree that the team had a problem last year, I know this is an understatement but let me continue. Let's say that they have looked deeply into the issues we have had with recruiting and have decided to go for a different type of recruit. Let us say that they are going after what might be called hidden talent. Talent may be hidden for a number of reasons including playing for a school that is not very good. Be what it may, let us consider these may be some of the reasons for the new recruits we are seeing. So, they may indeed be trying something new for them and they should be supported, at least until they are proven correct or incorrect with these changes. What we all want is a better team for next season and the upcoming seasons. Let's see if these apparent changes work.

Welcome to the Bills Zeke, we surely can use someone who can shoot and score. All the best.

My impression of Dr. Pestello is that he is not going to be making wholesale changes to the administration or the departments of the University any time soon. I think he will do many changes eventually, but then the changes to be made will be well thought out and will go smoothly. This means that I see no change in the AD or the Basketball coaching staff for next year unless something really out of the ordinary happens, in which case change may become necessary.

The Majerus SLU Crew team is more now than what it was at the time its members were kids playing D1 basketball. Both Conklin and Kwamain have been awarded MVPs in professional leagues (overseas of course but nevertheless a significant award for playing excellence), and the team has other members like Evans and Jett that were great playing for SLU and may be using this opportunity to start up professional careers. The Majerus SLU Crew is a team that in terms of experience is very much superior to our current team. i think playing with these guys will do a world of good to our team, both offensively and defensively.

OK, let's say that the coaching staff had evaluated our chances of getting JT as very low, which I do not think they were, and therefore had decided not to make a significant effort to recruit him. Let's say he had, as he did, chosen Duke. If the staff had not made a significant effort to recruit JT, there would have been a much larger chorus of voices clamoring for Crew's scalp after JT's announcement was done. The staff could not do anything other than what they did, spending time and resources in JT's recruitment to the end. Too bad it did not work out, it was a good effort. Let's move on.

That is not exactly correct Taj, whether or not you can live on $1M per year depends on who you marry and how much you spend. Let's say that you were divorced at the time Kim Kardashian became available and that you married her. I would estimate an income of $1M would fall woefully short to support this wife at the level she likes to live.

Just one point to be made, he is 17. He will find out eventually.

Yes Pistol, thank you very much for your work.

Some people cannot help themselves, they have to attract attention to themselves by posting anything at all they happen to hear.

If you think of the state of the team at the end of last season, it is quite reasonable that a few of the players may have considered transferring out. They did stay though.

I like your attitude Brian Hank Haenchen, you are proud and happy to do what you do. This is good. -
I think we should forget his existence and indeed move on.

Brianstl could not avoid smiling reading your post. You are correct, we need to get him out of our systems.
