Wherever they may have been, we still won the game. We almost fouled out of the game but won it. No Psimitris, no Welmer in play, only the 8 guys. Great game, great show of strength by our team. I agree it will be better after Bishop and Henriquez rejoin, but they are good as is.

We won! we played with our under strength team and beat VT. I said it could be done, it was done. To all of you who spent sleepless hours trying to figure out those pictures, you wasted your time. We can win with what we have available right now. Great game, great win. Trust Ford, trust the team, we are good as we are right now.

I have my moments Quality is Job1, and indeed anything is possible. I was looking at the Teamrankings analysis for tonight and I think we can do it. We will have to play all out defense tonight to screw up their game but I think we may be able to pull it after all. This is not certain of course, but it is possible, we can win this game.

Well, let's put it this way, if Welmer has to come in and play tonight it probably means that things are going really bad for SLU. I may be wrong here but I think we are more likely to see Psimitris going in tonight, not Welmer.

I think Ford is likely to throw anyone into play tonight if it is needed. That includes Psimitris and possibly even Welmer. Tonight we need to push VT hard.

Let's put it this way, all the doom and gloom about our short handed team will make it a lot sweeter if we win against VT.

Not ominous, realistic. When you see Bishop dressed in a SLU uniform and playing sometime during this season, that is the moment that you may take thank the Lord for deliverance. Before that moment you just have to get the idea that we will take care of business, for better or for worse, with what we have at hand.

Yes, we have to out rebound and slow down VT somehow if we are going to do do well next Saturday. They have a very high number of assists and rebounds in a game. They just buried Detroit and Citadel, both of which appear to be mediocre to bad teams. I think we have a chance even without Bishop or Henriquez.

So, judging by what you saw in practice there is some hope for Anthony being able to contribute in a positive fashion to the team.

The game I saw tonight could have been played by two different teams. In the first half we were tentative, shot lots of 3 pointers that did not go in and allowed Rockhurst to set the tempo and the play mode. Ours was not a very good team playing against Rockhurst in the first half and if we had played the second half like we played the first Rockhurst could very well have beaten us. The second half was a lot more physical with a lot more action close to the basket, we dominated the second half tempo and play although the play was not pretty. Goodwin is incredibly selfless and distributes the ball freely he may well be learning to lead the team, his shot will come. After seeing tonight's game I think we can win against Virginia Tech if they play the whole game like they played in the second half against Rockhurst. They need to be physical all the time against them. I was glad to see Foreman breaking through and getting to play better and with more confidence. I was glad to see Psimitris come in and drill a 3 pointer in the 2 minutes he played. I also was very glad to see French becoming more of the French I hoped he would be. I wish Anthony would do something when he was in, a rebound or an assist would do just fine but I just do not see him doing much. I think the guy we really need to have right now is Welmer, wonder when Ford will let him play. As far as the last 3 players go they were not present tonight either. For the time being at least, I think the team must learn to play with the 8 guys we have with the possible addition of Psimitris here and there and Welmer when he is ready. I do believe we can do fine against teams that rely on offensive and have little defensive capacity. This may not be the case when we face teams that are primarily defense minded.

Ace what do you mean by ugly it up? I think the physicality of this team is something to be cherished and enjoyed, I love the thought of being called thugs by our opponents. Basketball does not have to be refined with measured steps like a production of Swan Lake by the Kirov Ballet. Hell if we get close and physical and win that way, much the better. I would rather be the "thug squad" than the "lovable losers." We can win this game, whether or not it looks pretty, if we are ready to fight for this win, short-handed squad or not. In my experience watching the Bills we have never been in a position that allowed us to play a physical game and assume the role of thugs. I hope this is the year we do it, pretty or not. Thank you WVBilliken I will have to learn how to set the box to record but it can be done, appreciate the tip. I will really enjoy it, particularly if we win.
