  1. LaSalle coming back to earth. KSU making a game of it.
  2. Imagine what he would've done after the Bills did not make the cut in the first wave of the NBE. He might've jumped off the MLK.
  3. Can someone clarify the NCAA credit issue? Here's how I understand it. Teams get a credit for each NCAA tourney game played, and that credit amounts to roughly $1.2 million. The credits are paid to the conference and distributed equally amongst all conference members over a six-year period. So, assuming LaSalle hangs on, A-10 has 6 credits thus far and is guaranteed a minimum of 5 more because all A-10 teams advanced. 11 credits x 1.2 million = $13.2 million. Assume X, Temple, Charlotte and Butler get no share of the credits with departures to other conferences next year. So that basically equals minimum $1.1 million per team over the next six years, plus whatever credits are still being paid from prior years. Not too shabby. Hopefully SLU isn't around to collect any of this.
  4. Wow. If you're going to quit, might as well flip some office tables and steal some pens on your way out, right?
  5. How awesome would that be if they could? We would all chain smoke and get jobs in abestos manufacturing plants.
  6. Bills by 10+. Defensive intensity disrupts U of O's freshman backcourt and Ellis goes off.
  7. SLU hasn't been on the national radar until the last few weeks. Can understand why Oregon fans wouldn't know much about us. They have 8 losses, but their PG was hurt for awhile. Also three of those losses were in OT, and two additional losses were by 1 point and 2 points. They seem to be a very quality team and I'd be surprised if they didn't present a much stiffer challenge than NMST. Now, the question is, is Oregon>VCU? Butler? They played very well yesterday, but if you read their threads, many of their fans were surprised by that. Several fans on their message board admitted picking OSU over Oregon in their brackets. With freshman guards, one would expect the inesperience could be exploited, especially by a high-intensity defense.
  8. Link to Oregon's results this year: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/schedule/_/id/2483/oregon-ducks Lost to Cal and Colorado twice each. Also lost to Cincy, UTEP, Stanford and Utah. Three OT losses, as well as a 2-point and a 1-point loss.
  9. Yet another 5 seed in jeopardy. Wisconsin and Ole Miss in a tight one. Badgers down 2 w/six minutes to go.
  10. Temple is taking it to NC State right now. 33-18 w/6 minutes to go first half. #A-10
  11. It's a good read...surprising amount of support.
  12. Ha! I have no idea who you are, my friend, but I like your style.
  13. Strong, veteran team with outstanding guards. Led by PG Kwamain Mitchell and Junior Dwayne Evans. Our "bigs" (Loe and Ellis) are not typical in that they both are accomplished outside shooters. Evans is roughly 6'5" (depending on when he last got a haircut) and plays an inside game, but also has a good mid-range jumper. Defense is the calling card of the team. Relentless half-court defense, with strong contributions from Jett and McCall Jr., and we thrive on turning other teams over and keeping damage from the perimiter to a minimum. It's a deep team. Lots of scoring off the bench. 17-1 in our last 18 games with a 5-1 record (I believe) against ranked opponents. Beat New Mexico this year as well as three victories vs. Butler and two vistories over VCU. Lost to Kansas in November w/Mitchell injured. Won the A-10 regular season and tourney.
  14. Colorado State can beat Louisville. Watched them vs. New Mexico a couple of weeks ago and they can get up and down. They seem to play smart, poised ball.
  15. Oregon board seems to have a chip on their shoulder about the 12 seed. Understandable. Not a lot about SLU except sme dude saying Oregon should win because NMSU dominated us on the boards. http://oregon.247sports.com/Board/45/GameDay-Hoops-Blog-Oregon-vs-OSU-17619001/5
  16. Since you are nitpicking grammar, it is "player's" with an apostrophe.
