Eh. Few people would bat an eye if a student athlete heckled adult fans, there's just a level of taste necessary when it's the other way around. IE this Kendric Davis cat. He came in talking sh!t, he should expect sh!t talked back. He deserves it. More importantly, we all know we shouldn't rely on the student section to bring the energy and enthusiasm. I hope they prove me wrong tomorrow.

If we take MBB and MSOC this year we have the more important 2 wins of the 4 matchups IMO. Here's to hoping we do it.

I don't remember it before the basketball games, but I've been real annoyed by the warnings before soccer games about, basically, reminding everyone to be a pu$$y. "No heckling players, refs, or other fans." Bite me. That's what fans are for. There's a line that shouldn't be crossed, but we need to walk that line tomorrow night.
-
I wouldn't mind having an I-55 rivalry across sports, I think it's fun. Especially if the MBB and MSOC teams go out for vengeance to redeem our girls. I want blood!

You're not wrong but I'll admit, that one person sure knows how to get under my skin. Gotta be better about not taking the bait... There's just so much fu**ing bait. If this team were as consistent as his criticisms of it we'd already have been crowned the 2022-23 national champs.

Nope. If he's going to consistently be the worst poster on the board (so bad it feels no less than intentional) he is not above facing the repercussions for it. What if our players read the board? Or their parents? God forbid recruits read it. They deserve to know that we don't think the way he does and that we in fact stand up for them against his terrible opinions.

You're correct on the shots. I rewatched the entire game last night - a couple of turnovers were moreso the fault of the receiver. Tough to blame a QB for an interception when he hits an open receiver in the hands. One of those turnovers was a bad call on a ball that went out of bounds. 5 turnovers, sure, but it's deeper than that and anyone who isn't looking for justification to crucify Yuri (the best PG in the country) sees that.

Two things can be true in this scenario: 1) Brian Kelly was significantly better than the usual clown show we have in the PA booth 2) There was significant room for improvement if for no reason other than the repeated butchering of a very easy name And FWIW I've liked Brian Kelly for a long time. I didn't know that was him in the booth but knowing now does not change my comments.

And your interpretation of Ford's comments here is so narcissistically twisted to fit your annoying boomer NIL stance. What Ford was most likely saying is that they have an NIL plan because they view it as a necessary evil but it won't compete against the P5 bottomless bank accounts and that's okay because there are more than enough good ball players to go around. Certainly not "We don't care about NIL."
-
Then not only should Gus be fired, so should whomever is responsible for hiring our PA personalities.

What 18-22 year old kid isn't going to prioritize his paycheck? Of course it's a priority in recruiting, to believe otherwise is dangerously naive and stubborn.

I'll never understand the desire to bring back this headcase. No thanks.

A guy named Brock Vice simply HAS to be an all-star athlete. Sounds like a champion. If the hype comes to fruition the combo of him and Cian oughta be real special.

This is the same man who repeatedly announced "Yuhvahn Pickett" on Monday.

It's much more common among foreign players than American players, and that difference was highlighted in last night's game. Dayton is majority foreign born, it looks like.

Terrible. Probably should've been a red card, and definitely should've allowed advantage. Two total blunders in the same damn play and could've totally changed the direction of the game. I'm not used to complaining about A10 refs in November
-
As if I didn't have enough reasons already to hate Dayton their men's soccer team is icing on the cake. The incessant b*tching was unbearable and only overshadowed by the hypocrisy in their dirty play. Twice they committed obvious fouls on breakaway opportunities that IMO could've and should've been reds. I was directly parallel to the offsides call early in the first that took away what would've been a surefire goal and it was a terrible call. I complained about it all game. The worst part of the whole night was when we couldn't put away the ball that snuck through the defense on the free kick outside the box in the 2nd. I don't know how he even had the angle to miss high because the ball was seemingly already across the goal line. That was hard to forgive.

Don't even f****** say this out loud dude. Do not put this into the universe.

Roll call for the game tonight? Looking forward to it.

Avery Johnson is both first and second on that list, second place being his 10.74APG from the 1986-87 season. Those were his freshman and sophomore, and only, seasons at Southern University but therein lies the answer - he played for Southern University. My grandmother could put up noteworthy stat lines against that level of competition. Nelson Haggerty did it for Baylor in '94-'95 with 10.14APG and most recently was Ja Morant (barely) in '18-'19 with 10.03APG. Nelson Haggerty is the only player to make the mark with an impressive SOS. Murray State was ranked 131 in SOS that year and his assists average is heavily weighted by performances in all the games against the weaker parts of that schedule - he didn't break 10 assists against anyone impressive that year (Nor did he ever break Yuri's 19 record).

Jordan Goodwin signs 2 way contract with Lakers

(Selfishly,) The best part of what Goodwin is doing is the benefit it will be to SLU recruiting. Proof of concept to sell to all the local and non-local recruits that want to come to SLU and think they have a chance at the league. -

But often times adversity kicks us in the tip of the di*k. One hurts more than the other.
