  1. Ha! I've seen the Bills play in Memphis. It's a good trip to make, as Brian pointed out.
  2. There are certain players who will avoid Rick, but that's okay. He hasn't recruited too many flakes. Let's stick with players more interested in winning.
  3. Great post. For those of us who go back to the '70s and earlier, this one is very sweet. Let's make it to the sweet 16!
  4. This game should be played every year. There is enough history between the schools, and it will be a good rpi game for both sides. Let's make it happen!
  5. Certainly one of the best we've seen. Let's hope he has one more up his mock turtle neck sleeve for Sunday!
  6. Very classy post. Good luck to Memphis in the new Big East.
  7. Same old mizzou. Is this norfolk state or northern iowa!
  8. So saying that Haith did better job than Anderson is "sticking up" for mizzou? Again, I'm not sure how you could come to that conclusion. Of course, you are obviously delusional. I can see why you are so worried all of the time, though. You don't know much and act like a jerk.
  9. It's a big day for the A10, and all 4 teams have a good chance to win.
  10. First I'm a mizzou fan, then I'm a poster from your past. The count is 0-2! Nicely done. You're flailing around like Mike Tyson looking for his mouthpiece after getting clocked by Buster Douglas. Like many have posted on here, I think the conference is better off being smaller than adding teams just for the sake of numbers. I don't care if Charlotte and Umass leave. I've posted that on here. I just don't want more second rate teams in big markets. Detroit...we've been there/done that. Did you forget that we were in a conference with them? I'd like to see more than a 3rd place finish in a bad conference before we add them. I did a little digging...Detroit drew 2017 fans in their 8200+ arena for their game against James Madison about a month ago. Is that what the A10 needs? Let's start with Butler and see what happens. If there's a need for more teams, my next stop would be Creighton. Majerus can recurit anywhere. I think the only player from a town anywhere near an opposing A10 city is Manning. He doesn't need what you're suggesting. Now then, we're almost at tip-off for a game that really matters. Can you lighten up and enjoy the moment? Don't you want our team to win?
  11. How much longer is he under contract? I thought it was just one more year.
  12. Good thing it's not the 9PM tipoff!
  13. Wow! We're playing the biggest game in 12 years and you're focused on conspiracy theories! What kind of a fan are you? Oh, the kind who wants to rebuild the old MCC by having Detroit and Loyola join our conference. Why not Oral Roberts and Oklahoma City and Evansville? What are your thoughts on the game? You know, the NCAA tourney game. Let's keep you dialed in here!
  14. One of my favorite all-time Bills. A quick search tells me he's playing in Oldenburg, Germany. That seems appropriate! He's also been in Italy and Spain. Maybe Rick could sneak him on the floor today! I can hear Rammer now "Kyle Cassity seems to have grown six inches and shaved his head".
  15. Forget the screens, let's go for the old school Heinrich maneuver today!
  16. Proudly wearing Billiken gear to work today! Go Bills!
  17. No, you said he had "few" all-stars. The Cubs did have a few regular all-stars with Sandberg and Dawson during that time. How many all-stars did other teams average during that time (I don't know the answer there)? Keep in mind that baseball's all-star selection is probably worse than any other sport considering the fans vote the starters in. Also, you said that he was "always" in the playoffs. Whitey made it in 3 times while he was in St. Louis.
  18. Grad of SLU and native St. Louisian. Is that a crime? I posted that Haith has done a better job with that team than Anderson. If that's "ripping" Anderson, then I'm gulity as charged. Based on your post, you're saying that Anderson is a better coach than Haith? OK. Whatever. You're either know nothing about basketball or haven't watched any any of their games over the past 2-3 years. Who would pobsibly say that Anderson did a good job at Mizzou the past couple of seasons? The fact that you think Detroit would be good for the A10 shows us what you know about basketball. 11-7 in the Horizon before a miracle run in that tourney. As a SLU grad and fan, I'm really more focused on the MEMPHIS Tigers right now. You know, we're in the NCAA tourney for the first time in many years. MEMPHIS Tigers. NCAA tourney. Go Bills!
  19. As I recall Whitey had an all-star or two. George Brett, Hal McRae, Frank White, Darrel Porter, Amos Otis, Freddie Patek, Ozzie Smith, Vince Coleman, Willie McGee, Todd Worrell, Jack Clark, Tommy Herr, Joaquin Andujar, Bruce Sutter, George Hendrick, Lonnie Smith, Pedro Guerrero, etc.
  20. Anderson got outcoached quite a bit. He only had one strategy, and his opponents figured them out. Do you think there is a dramatic shift is a player's ability from junior to senior year? Your really think Anderson would have coached that bunch to a #2 seed?
  21. You could say that about most games. I expect a physical game from Memphis and don't count on much help from the officials. I'm counting on Majerus getting our team ready to handle the pressure. We have good guards who can handle the ball.
  22. Whatever floats your boat. I'm more interested in the Tiger team that's a little farther down the Mississippi right now.
  23. How many connecting flights did the y have between StL and Columbus?!
  24. He's certainly done a lot better with the roster than his predecessor. The real story might be that Mike Anderson is an over-rated and over-paid coach. Time will tell with Haith. If he's in the NCAAs after year 3 we'll have some idea about his ability. In any case, why worry about what's going on at Mizzou on the eve of our biggest game in over a decade?
  25. If you've been paying attention for the past several years, football is leading the way. It's not a surprise that they're thinking this way. My only thought here is that Charlotte could try to stay in the A10 for all sports except football. Also, I'm happy that the A10 has 4 teams in. That's great. However, SBU is only in because they won the conference tourney and XU would have been a bubble team if we could have beaten them in AC. I DO agree that the A10 was clearly the best non-BCS conference the past couple of years and would be a step up for most mid-majors. As I (along with many others) have posted on here, let's not add in teams simply for numbers. Let's start with Butler and see what happens.
