  1. Huh, this was the number on wikipedia for the entry on the Chaifetz, I thought it seemed low. Even for a down year. Where do you get the numbers for our attendance?
  2. I think that's a spot on summary. The hardest stand alone away game is Davidson and their stellar back court. No shame is splitting the Dayton and SBU games by defending home court. I expect us to see an uptick in our home court winning % again this year; better crowds, more support, louder atmosphere. Our home stats are actually pretty impressive, all things considered. The Chaifetz has been good to us. I'd like to see both numbers with all years included hover above the 80% mark in the coming years.
  3. Its's Official: Columbus Dispatch: Chris Holtmann picked to be new Ohio State men’s basketball coach This makes our matchup in December all the more curious.
  4. I'll be curious to see where Creighton goes from here. They stand on a knife's edge as a program with this hire. Granted they are in the Big East now so it opens up a lot more options for them. Regardless of how McDermott did at Iowa State, he would be crazy to not take this job.
  5. Are the new recruits on campus already? Nice.
  6. Exactly, he had major Texas connections while in Stillwater. Let's keep it up. Generally speaking as well, the Texas Triangle is a fertile recruiting ground for SLU students as well. Good series to get going on so many levels.
  7. There will be a fairly large contingency of Bills coming down from Dallas. Plus, I know quite a few guys who live in Houston. I go down to H-Town quite a bit for business but admittedly don't know it as well as I know San Antonio or Austin. I'll do some recon before the season starts.
  8. Beat me to it Pistol. The pulse from Cincy fans on Reddit is that NKU is the far better option. While I am at it, here is the link the Fifth-Third's renovation website, they are very impressive as well. NKU's campus is a 15 minute drive from the campus of UC, so while it will suck for students, its not a truly terrible situation for fans at large. Plus, BB&T Bank Arena actually seems like a pretty impressive place.
  9. Dayton is going to overhaul UD Arena. Say what you want about Dayton, and I will say some pretty terrible things, but that arena is already great. And this remodel looks amazing, plus the marketing is well done. $72 million is a f***-ton of money. To put that in perspective, the Chaifetz was built for just over $80MM. Granted, the remodel will take place over the next 3 years, but its still a really substantial investment into the athletic facilities. Dayton ain't going away y'all. Link to info
  10. Couldn't agree more. I hate Mizzou because they won't play us, its as simple as that. Let's not give their fans a reason to be right about us. They look at us like whiny little brother, and threads like these prove them right. We can dislike them for battling for recruits, dislike them for refusing to play us, dislike them for the fans having a warped view of their basketball legacy, but there is no need to find a reason to bash Mizzou day in day out.
  11. Yup. This is my nightmare. Butler doesn't seem to have many hotel rooms around it anyways.
  12. So, some unfortunate news scheduling wise. If you are planning on going to this game, get your hotel rooms NOW. Most rooms are already sold out, it just so happens that the B1G football championship game is in Indy on that very same day. Get your rooms now gentlemen. Good luck.
  13. That's an awesome fact. Its actually a great concert venue as well. Man I love that arena.
  14. I highly doubt they ever take priority. I know the schedule might not seem robust right now, but I do remember back when the 'Fetz first opened I had a cousin who worked in facilities management at the Scottrade and he noted that the 'Fetz was an immediate drain on STC's revenue stream, so I bet it is busier that we believe.
  15. Baylor and TCU leave A LOT to be desired. They are like smaller versions of Mackey Arena at Purdue or Assembly Hall at UofI with way less atmosphere. Circlurlar seating plans for basketball have always rubbed me the wrong way. Obviously Allen Fieldhouse is beyond reproach. The Chaifetz does indeed hold its own against a plethora of P5 facilities.
  16. You're the man ACE. Keep those secret sources talking!
