Haven't been able to watch any of the game. Is it as bad as it seems? I know when you play bad teams it takes you out of what you do but how does our performance do against a team like Valpo? Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr seem down on McBroom handling the point and down on Jakes defense against such a weak opponent. Usually they know what they're talking about. Can anyone fill me in?

Crawford had like 13 points vs semo. It may have been their backups but their backups are still better than Rockhurst. Get MC in there

Hope Jake is getting some confidence. Anyone should be able to score vs Rockhurst but he needs a confidence boost

Won't be able to catch any of the game. I know it's only Rockhurst so you can't gather much from individual performances, but I appreciate any updates. Hopefully we can get a confidence boost for guys like Barnett and Glaze

Our seniors who have either started for 4 years or gotten starters minutes for 4 years aren't executing either Also, go Auburn

+1 Last year we also still had New Mexico in our schedule at this point. They finished like 3rd in RPI so that was a huge win for us in the eyes of the committee. Our only chances left for big wins are in conference play. Don't give me Indiana St b.s. I don't care how they've looked we should beat them without a problem especially at home. There are some good A10 teams but who really expects Dayton to still be there by the end of the season. Same with GW. We've blown 2 chances at big wins and close losses don't mean anything

The biggest baby in college basketball is your coach. I remember him working the refs last year at Chaifetz when you guys were down 26 points just so that the score could look remotely respectable at the end of the game. He needs the score to look good because he wants to be able to rank VCU in the top 25 every week.

From my view (which was pretty good) it didn't seem tipped. The ball didn't seem to change rotation at all but I guess it still ccould've been tipped

Has anyone heard from him? Is he alive? I'd actually like to hear his thoughts on the season so far. He can usually give a pretty good opinion

Worth noting that we stopped their 17-0 run in the 1st half with McBroom on the court. I believe he scored 5 of the next 7 points and like 7 of the 11 after that run

Yeah no good losses. This team is missing a leader. I thought it'd be Evans but I don't know maybe he just doesn't play the right position to he the on court leader. Evans needs the ball more. He's unstoppable going baseline. Also Evans must hit that 18 footer like 80% of the time in practice because he keeps shooting in but I haven't seen it go in this season. This team isn't as deep as I thought. Manning has actually been decent and I think we all want to see more of McBroom but other than that it's not much. There's nothing else to say about Barnett. Glaze is truly an energy guy and that's it. He still looks lost and out of control but he's been ok. Agbeko seems to struggle with off ball defense. He's always late to get back to his guy. Lancona looks ok but outside of 1 game he hasn't really done anything. I guess I underestimated the loss of last year's seniors. Having Jett and Ellis come off the bench was huge. I know they both played starters minutes or close to it but it still made is deeper. Kwamain was a great player and a great leader. I don't see anyone on this team really get at each other on the court. If someone screwed up last year Kwamain was there yelling at them or coaching them. Same with Ellis. Kwamain wouldn't have let those huge runs go against us. He would have drove to the basket against the WSU players with foul trouble. Hell even Remekun could be counted on to go out there and know what to do. I just hope our bench gets better as the season goes on. We can't keep losing these games that give us quality wins. Jett needs to step up. Not sure what's wrong with him. McCall was really good today especially defensively. One of them needs to step up as a leader.

McBroom is better than Barnett. Even if Barnett is better defensively, McBroom's offense is significantly better.

I definitely agree that we'll be better a lot better come January. But your point that WSU is better than any team we play in conference this year is what worries me. I hate losing these opportunities to beat really good teams. Especially at home.

Teams that want to be consistent top 25 teams don't lose big games at home. You want to be big time, don't lose big time games at home. This post is laughable. Stick to your small time SIUC basketball.

Grandy and Jake tried to foul for about 10 seconds. They weren't good enough to foul on purpose. Manning could've done it though. Nobody racks up fouls like him.

He's maybe an off the bench guy. Hes not a play 28 mins vs the #12 team in the country guy. More McBroom. Barnett is not better than McBroom at defense. That missed ft was a total choke job. You could see the pressure get to him.
