The team goes through 3 hour practices at 7 in the morning during the school year. I'm not overly concerned. If we can't hit shots it's because we just simply can't shoot

George Mason up 22-21 on VCU with about 7 minutes left in the 1st half. VCU's half court "offense" consists of a random ball screen and then driving to the hoop. Every once in a while the 2 guys playing on the wings will switch spots but it doesn't accomplish anything. Get VCU in a half court game, and I don't think they beat anyone good.

Opening week in the A10. Obviously SLU over URI Tuesday. Duquesne beat Fordham Wednesday. St. Bonaventure took down Richmond Wednesday. UMass used a late comeback to beat St. Joes Wednesday. Tonight, George Mason takes on VCU on CBS Sports Network at 6:00 in a matchup of former Colonial Athletic Conference teams. At 7:00 George Washington travels to La Salle in what could be a telling game for how GW will compete in the A10 this year.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that Frank Haith is one of the best things ever to happen to Mizzou. I guess Cam could play longer in the postseason at Mizzou then at SLU. Not sure when the NIT or CBI ends. We could just turn this thread into a Mizzou bashing thread. That way all those who support Mizzou don't have to read it in other threads.

I agree that it's not typically a very smart shot, especially early in the shot clock, but I'll take MM taking that 17 footer over the way he's been driving to the hoop lately.

I like fouling on purpose in that situation if say you're a huge underdog (or 16 seed vs 1) on the road facing an elite team and you're tied with them late and they have the ball. Chances are even if you get a stop, you aren't surviving 5 more minutes in OT so you might as well take your chance to get the last possession in regulation.

McCall has to be better. At least we've seen it out of him in his career. More jumpers. Less driving. McBroom has the green light from me to shoot from anywhere. Evans has to be better. Cheap fouls yes. But that's life on the road in the A10 (and at home for slu). I was so upset when he took that ball all the way to the hoop at the end there. Not a smart senior play. Jett. Wow. Barnett. Yeah. Wow did that great last second play before half time turn out to be huge. You can say that about every basket but those were stolen points. For all the Rhody fans upset about calls at the end. The 4th "foul" on Dwayne was a disgrace. Take that call away and keep DE on the court and Rhody doesn't come back like that. Ugly wins are fine on the road in conference but it'll take a much better performance to beat Dayton. Pretty solid heart attack tonight
