1. A bomb- watching in spurts at my dtr's gymnastics meet in Columbus Ohio.
2. ACE said: "It makes a big difference what his race is. If he is white, he is heady, a real-overachiever, a student of the game. He can shoot free-throws, but is limited athletically. He does the "litltle things" well and gets the most out of his ability. He is always hussling. He is like a coach on the floor. If he is black, he is athletic, explosive, quick to the basket, but needs to work a bit more on the fundamentals. Not a great free throw shooter or jump shooter, but excellent at driving the ball. Great leaper. He has a high ceiling and has not reached his full potential yet, but with the proper coaching, he can get there." I can't put into words why this is a great post....it just is. The context is perfect, I know that. I'm sure you've got some scratching their heads, but I am totally "getting it". Nice.
3. Speaking of all A10, is the voting supposed to be based only on Conference play? If so, DE should be a first team lock.
4. DE says "21, 22...whatever it takes" Wish I knew how to insert the Mr Mom pic from my phone!
5. Score please, game tracker not working for mw
6. Captured the moment well. This could've been a trap game. The prospect of seeing SLU as a 4 seed is just....invigorating.

8. "If you are not from St. Louis, you won't remember the St. Louis Steamers. They were an indoor soccer team that had huge success in St. Louis in the early to mid 1980's. When I say huge success, I mean that there was one season where their average attendance was second in all of North America for arena teams to the Edmonton Oilers (Gretzky). Yes, this means they outdrew the Lakers, Celtics, Bull, NY Rangers, Flyers, Blackhawks, Blues, etc. Despite their success, they went out of business in 1988. They were replaced by another indoor soccer team that wasn't nearly as successful." Oh yeah, I went to a crapload of Steamers games. Players I recall fondly: Carl Rose, Tony Glavin (went to his soccer camp), Slobo I., Steve Pecher (sp?), Steve cacciatore, Don Ebert. It was definitely fun. They'd give away balls and had a great, Chicago Bulls-esque player introduction. Wish we could get an MLS team.....but these Billikens are stretching the STL sports dollar even more!
9. I was in school during the Spoonball era...it was so fun. Since I'm not in St. Louis now, it's hard for me to judge what the excitement level is like compared to then in St. Louis now. I'll never forget the game when we were still playing at the old arena and they had to start peeling back the tarp on seats been covered because the arena sold out. I do recall the Blues being pretty good when we moved to SAvvis, which may have helped us a bit. But I also recall that it caused scheduling problems for the basketball team (sharing Savvis). As for comparing attendance, we really had a good run at that time, but it certainly wasn't very intimate like the Fetz. You could argue that a couple of our sellouts this year would have been sellouts or nearly so at Savvis, driving up our attendance average. Still wouldn't trade Fetz for anything.... Aside: I was at a gas station in warrenton, Mo about 6 years ago wearing a SLU sweatshirt. I look over and this shortish guy with , you guessed it, a black turtleneck, looked at me and got the widest grin. I am 90% sure it was Spoon but didn't know how to ask. I felt like Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird, but didn't have the balls to say, "Hey, Spoon!" Wish I had, my dad always said he was very approachable. I just smiled and gave a friendly nod.
10. I'll be there with a retro dark blue sweater with red and white stripes down the arms, and an obnoxiously large Billiken on the chest. My jacket will be royal blue with an equally conspicous Billiken. My 5 year old son will be with me. Go Bills!
11. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="TheA_Bomb" data-cid="346337" data-time="1361811398">
Maybe this National Level inteview will help dispel the concern some have that Coach Crews is not a salesman of the program.

Well, I'm glad he accepted the interview request, but I wouldn't say he did much selling of the program. He answered the questions he was asked and (appropriately) deflected questions about his future with the team. I think he could have picked a spot to say something like "whoever coaches this team next year will have a beautiful arena to play in. It's great that people are now seeing what SLU And coach Majerus were committed to building. I love the student and local support these kids are getting and the future should be bright. Having said that, we're focused on St. Joe's and finishing the regular season strong" But, I don't think he did anything to hurt the
12. I'm going. I live in Cincinnati and I went to the Dayton game last year. My son and I were literally on the floor behind the bench. He had to sit on my lap to see the game! BUT, In the past the Xavier game tickets were not as good. I am going with the alumni tickets but I have no idea how good the seats will really be.
13. The thing is, there was a ref in better position to make that call, if there actually was a foul, in the backcourt. Its like he assumed there would be contact instead of actually seeing it. I'm sure the other ref was thinking "um...there was no contact there. Temple better win this game"
14. Temple got screwed, then screwed themselves, then Dayton pissed away a free shot at OT
