  1. That's hilarious. Just order one of everything with the word "macho" in front of it and feed a small army for about ten bucks. You gotta love crinkle fries from a mexican joint in the shape of a space ship. Best 2:30 am sober-up-before-the-drive-home food in midtown.
  2. All you can do is call 314 977-4SLU and find out.
  3. That is just a surcharge!! Don't forget the "service charge" of $4.50 on top of that per seat. I paid $49.00 for two seats: $20 ticket price on a $16 (I think) at the door face value price, plus $4.50 each. Yep $49.00 for what I can get at the door for $32--or more correctly I would only get the $12.00 seats at the door. Those aren't an option online or over the phone as they were charging $16.00 for them and there were none left. The only thing I can think is that they don't sell the $12.00 seats at all on-line or over the phone? Maybe they split the upper bowl into upper (h-n) and lower (a-g) sections and only sell the lower section? If that is the case then there really isn't a "surcharge" but still a "service fee" of the $4.50. It doesn't appear that way online and they didn't know if that was the case when I called. They just show that there weren't any $16 seats left beside a few singles here and there. I usually get row j or i when I walk up. So, this may be the case. If it is--why?? It doesn't make sense not to sell hundreds--if not thousands of seats. Also, I am always on the end opposite the students. 208, 209 or 210--I hate 207 or 211, and I notice they are usually over half full. However, the upper bowl above the student section is a ghost town--why? Does anyone know? I have never gotten seats at that end when I buy at the door. I have probably been to 5 or 6 games this year.
  4. I dropped Fifty Bucks of pair of tickets to see the Bills' statement victory over X. I usually just pay $12 each at the door. I couldn't take the chance on it actually selling out. I am hopeful it will. I know there were no more cheap seats left through metro tix nor online a few hours ago. Go Bills!
  5. "Of course, the available allotment can change as soon as a team like Saint Louis wins the A-10 tournament." Best quote in the article.
  6. I'm a big fan of Vito's. Walking distance to the game and great pizza.
  7. I agree that X is a different animal, but not necessarily vastly better, just different. They have true force down low and Crawford who can take over a game at anytime--similar to what Harris almost did to us in Mass last weekend. RI has a ton of athletes who love to run up and down the floor--we controlled that. I think we can do that agian tonight. Points from "way down under" are going to be at a premium as we are #1 at defending 3's and they are #3. They rely heavily on that for their offense--just as we do, but even more so. I am not sure if they score more by percentage than we do--or if it is simply just a function of them getting several more possessions per game--either way 3's are a big part of their offense. Whoever wins the battle in the paint, I think wins the game. Love is a monster and Frease is a 7 footer who can play. If we can keep them from dominating the boards, and control the pace--I think we win the half court battle and get more points from behind the arc. Redford may not play, and we can focus on shutting down Jackson from behind the arc. Crawford is going to get his but if we can frustrate them as whole by controlling the pace and taking away their contibuting guys (and ours contributing guys step up again--Cody, Klye, JJ, BC, JS) I think we win. Go Bills!
  8. About time. The more the better. If we get the W I think we will get even more. People are starting to wake up to the program in their backyard.
  9. slu72 Great post. I got goose bumps while reading it. I am so pumped up about this game. The place is going to be nuts. I agree this is an HUGE if not program turning point game. If we can knock off THE perenial powerhouse and let us not forget recent elite 8 team, we make a major statement. We take another big step towards being the program we aspire to be. It is going to be fun.
  10. Great read!! More people need to know about the "Fetz." You don't beat us at home. Not in our house. Good news overall, bad news for me: I just tried to buy tickets through metrotix and/or online and all of the upper bowl $16 general admission seats are GONE!! There are only a couple of single tickets left. I coudn't get 2 together anywhere. I had to buck up--double what I usually pay at the door. Still a small price to pay for a full house and Bills victory over a top team. I can't wait--its going to be fun. If the students section can top what they have done in the last few games--it is going to be ridiculous tough for x in the second half. Go bills!
  11. I also gotta think that a year at CBC will do him some good in many areas. Not least of which will be academics and his transcript for D1 qualification.
  12. Here is what I found. Xavier Musketeers Player Status/Updated Notes Brad Redford G Ques Wed - Hip - 2/21/10 Redford is questionable for Wednesday against St. Louis as he deals with a hip injury. Jeff Robinson F Ques Wed - Flu - 2/21/10 Robinson is questionable for Wednesday against St. Louis as he recovers from the flu. I know that doesn't really tell you anything, but it is all I found. It more than likely means it will be a game time decision.
  13. Thanks for the link--fun stuff. It says that if we win out the regular season and just make it to the A-10 Championship game we have a 78% chance of making the dance. Not too bad. Of course, all that that requires is for us to win 6 more games in a row against against at least 3 of the top 50 teams in the nation--so no big deal. Of course if we make it to the championship game--why wouldn't we just win it and be done with it? This whole post season thing seems real simple to me. Regardless of what happens this has been one heck of a ride so far. Who would have thought we would be here after the "BG incident" (as I am now calling it)? I sure hope it continues. Go Bills!
  14. Am I the only one who went right past the goofy guy talking and looked at the cheerleaders come off the court at the very beginning of the clip? And then, and then...well you will see. The last one off the court with the dark hair. I'm not saying anything more--you judge for yourself. And for the record, yes, I a bit demented. Wow. Sorry. I couldn't help myself. It was just my natural reaction to the video. My eyes go where my eyes go.
  15. Perhaps "ton" was a bit overstated, but ther have been 23 teams in the last 8 seasons--about 3 per year. And yes, most (I don't know how many) were from BCS conferences. I got my info from the post by Davidnark on Sunday who says his source is "the RPI Report." Still 3 per year is a shot--Again, we haven't had a "shot" for a long time. Plus they like teams that are rising in the RPI. This is fun and I sure hope it lasts. First things first though, we must beat X tomorrow night. Hopefully we get close with our RPI and with our quality wins we can make a solid case. We have been in the discussion over the last week and there are rumblings around the college basketball world about us. So, a red hot finish and who knows? Fingers crossed. Go Bills!
  16. Of course we need to take care of X on tomorrow night, but this is too much fun and we as Bills fans haven't been able to it for a long time. So here goes... St. Joe's got a bid in 2008 despite an underwhelming out of conference performance and a 9-7 A10 record mainly because they got 3 conference wins against NCAA tournament teams -- Xavier twice, and Temple once. Their overall record was 21-13. They had an RPI of 47 and SOS of 71. Assuming we win out the regular season ( fingers crossed) and go at least 1-1 in the conference tourney that puts us at 22-9. But the kicker and most important thing (based on this line of thought taken from NITOLOGY.com and "A10 by the numbers") is our quality wins over tournament teams. Right now we only have 1 for sure in Richmond. Again, assuming we win out it would give us at least 3 with X and Temple. Furthermore, depending on whether or not RI and or Dayton wake back up we could have as many as 6 (Dayton Twice.) Based on the above example of St Joe in '08 we would have a better resume in that regard. However, our SOS will not be as high--probably around 100 when it is all said and done. And our RPI will probably end up in the 50's. As Davidnark pointed out Sunday there have been tons of teams that get invited with RPI's over 50--as low as 74. They also like teams that are surging upwards--that is exactly what we are doing and of course would be doing RPI-wise if we beat Dayton, Temple, Dookies, and X in the coming weeks. Heck lets just win the A-10 Tourney and be done with it. I know, I know, first things first, but this sure is fun--I can't help myself. It has been along time since we got to do this. Go Bills!
  17. I have never heard of a better reason to induce in my life. A few days won't matter to the kid--get it out early.
  18. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/349995-...ld-of-65-feb-22 Here is a link to another bracket projection site (found through CBS Sports page) that gives ome love, though honest, to the Bills. Again, the press we are getting is great. It is amazing what some W's can do for a program.
  19. Great read. It is awesome to see St Louis get some press--it is amazing what s string of W's will do for a program. Everyone here needs to go and vote on the "who should get in" poll he is taking. They are tied for 2nd right now in the poll. Not that it will make one bit of difference, but any positive press they can get is a good thing. If we get a few of these projection sites looking at us seriously and maybe even a couple putting us in the field--that has to help our chances--it absolutely can't hurt.
  20. I tried twice to contact Charter concerning the issue--once after the first 5 minutes of the printer infomercial last night and once today. Of course trying to get a live body in St Louis is impossible. The customer service rep has no idea what channel CCIN even is or who SLU is for that matter. He said if you are getting a picture than there was nothing he could do. Today I tried a live chat with even worse results. No wonder that company is bleeding money year after year. It is just ridiculous that a "local" company doesn't understand that their local customers can't get the service they are paying for.
  21. So...no update? Three pages and...nothing. (besides a good read, but nothing to answer original question) I guess if no one knows anything, no one knows anything. No biggy. But I, like many of us, am very interested to find out if we are getting this guy. What a great problem to have--2 high quality bigs. WR is getting better by the day--as is most of the team. Another year of eating and weights, and just as important--actual skill development and he is going to be real fun to watch and a monster to try to stop. I saw someting last night I never thought I would see--Willie putting the ball on the floor and beating someone to the hoop from the free throw line--that was just amazing to see and something we absolutely would not have seen last year or even in December. If he gets stronger, continues to develop his post game, his balls skills, and eventually a nice 15 footer--he will be all american caliber. Of course the same can be said of just about any player in the country--IF they can do this and that they will be great, but I don't think those things are that much of a stretch for WR. Lets hope he improves as much next year over this as he did from last to this year. Having Loe come here would open things up for WR on the block and only allow him to do more damage agisnt one man defense. If they double him--we go to the other big that can score, or kick it out to CE, MM or KW to drain the 3. I am excited to think about what is to come next year and again if we get Loe it will only make things better. Lets all hope JR is doing better and he is able to get back to a sense of normality. I hope he fully recovers and is able to play again, but if not--best wishes in everything. As for the rest of they guys--all quality players and we don't really lose much with most of them. Who knows maybe those guys keep getting better too and next year we can go 10 deep consistantly. Whatever happens with the Loe situation, next year is going to be fun.
  22. We all know that the final 2-3 teams in each and every year will have 2-3 other teams scratching their heads. However, the main point of the the tournament is to crown a National Champion. Teams in this group of "maybe in or maybe out" will not run the table and beat much better teams anyway--they could make a run and make it interesting though, but they didn't do enough to earn the right to try like other teams have. I know that just making the tourney is a huge deal. Believe me I wish our Bills were there every year. Bottom line is the teams in the wishy-washy, not absolutely-for-sure-bids have done some things to get overlooked--ie lost to teams they shouldn't have lost to--usually more than just once. We all know the the committee is going to make at least a couple of head-scratcher/borderline unbelievable decisions--they do every year. But again if you put your self in that position... Compared to the debacle that College football goes through every year...do I really need go there? I don't think so. The tourney does not need more teams in it. Again we are trying to find the best team in the country--I don't think the 94th ranked team in the country is going to be running the table and beating 5 or 6 much better teams. The tourney has too many one sided games as it is. Despite its falacies--it is still the best sporting event of the year--by a long, long shot.
  23. good last post '72. It all comes down to W's. W's put butts in seats--or even better puts people on their feet in the Fetz.
