  1. Ezewiro is in the portal
  2. Could be worse tonight. Illinois just lost at home to future Bills' opponent Winthrop.
  3. Campbell was previously posted as a joke by someone on here and was never truly speculated to be on the schedule. Coastal Carolina was only speculated as they are a part of the MGM Grand Main Event "visitor" teams, which include Ball State, Southern Utah, and Coppin State. Once Ball State and Southern Utah were confirmed to be assigned to come to Chaifetz, Coastal Carolina was removed from speculation. Only change other than the confirmation of Eastern Illinois, Chicago State, and Winthrop was the date change for SIUE, which was initially reported to be 12/10 by SIUE but was soon moved and updated on their schedule to 12/17.
  4. Rockhurst has released their 2016-2017 schedule and SLU is not on there. So unless it is an unlisted exhibition game for them, they will not be on the SLU schedule. However, I have noticed more D1 teams scheduling D2, D3, and NAIA or lower teams lately as part of their regular season schedules (i.e. not part of the allowed 2 exhibitions that you can play before the season). Even mid to larger conference teams have been doing this. Off the top of my head, I know Illinois is playing McKendree, Creighton is playing Truman State, SIU is playing Missouri Southern, Illinois State is playing Lindenwood, and Missouri State is playing Fontbonne. Teams that are the level of SIUE and SEMO have even been playing 2 of these games which count toward the overall record (but not toward RPI). I know everyone hates when SLU schedules a team below D1, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a team like one of these on the schedule based on these recent trends.
  5. Wednesday, 12/14 at Southern Illinois. Game will be streamed free on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
  6. Saturday, 2/4 vs. North Carolina A&T at home. Strange nonconference game in the middle of the A-10 season.
  7. MGM Grand Main Event Preview: http://www.bloggingthebracket.com/2016/8/16/12361430/2016-men-who-speak-up-main-event-preview-history-alabama-byu-valpo-saint-louis
  8. Saturday, 12/10 vs. SIUE at home at 7 p.m.
  9. Monday, 11/14 vs. Southern Utah at home as part of the MGM Grand Main Event. Coastal Carolina can be removed from the front page as SLU opponents in this tournament will be Ball State, Southern Utah, BYU, and Alabama/Valpo. Tournament Link: http://mgm.bdglobalsports.com/
  10. Hey Steve,

Thanks for updating the schedule on the main page.  Just wanted to add a couple quick edits for accuracy:

11/21 is vs. BYU in Vegas

11/29 is vs. Samford at home

SIUC game is on the road this year

I can't 100% confirm the Coastal Carolina game at home as part of the Vegas Tournament.  However, based on the tournament format it is very likely.

    Thanks!

Thanks for this.  I hopefully updated the front page correctly this time.

  15. Alabama released their non-conference schedule today. They will play Valparaiso in the semifinals in Vegas on 11/21. As such, this means SLU will play BYU on 11/21 and then will play either Alabama or Valpo on 11/23.
  16. Davidson is in the Puerto Rico Tip-off (Nov. 17-18, 20) against Clemson; winner gets winner of Xavier vs. Missouri. Other participants are Oklahoma, Arizona State, Northern Iowa, and Tulane. UMass is hosting the Gotham Classic between Dec. 8-22 with home games against Pacific, Kennesaw State, North Carolina A&T, and Rider. Fordham is hosting a 4 team event in November with home games against Lipscomb, Lafayette, and St. Peter's. Duquesne is in a 5 team event in November hosting 3 games vs. opponents TBD and playing a road game at Kentucky. I am not aware of La Salle being a part of an exempt tournament this year.
  17. The @ Indiana State game on the front page can now officially be removed, as the Sycamores released their non-conference schedule yesterday: http://www.gosycamores.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=65149&SPID=7259&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=211042089&DB_OEM_ID=15200
  18. Samford went 14-19 last year and 4-14 in the Southern Conference. They are coached by former Kentucky Wildcat forward Scott Padgett. Padgett was a starter on the 1997-98 team that beat up on the Larry Hughes led Bills in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament.
  19. You are correct on already playing in the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic, as the Bills played in this during the 2014-2015 season. With the exception of some host schools (such as Hawaii in the Diamond Head Classic), teams are only allowed to participate in a specific event once every four years. As such, no Corpus Christi tournament this year.
  20. Unfortunately the odds are not good for the Bills to be playing in this one, as St. Bonaventure is already a confirmed team for this tournament. These exempt events typically do not include more than one team from a conference. An exception to this occurred during the recent realignment years when contracts for the larger ESPN run events had been signed years in advance.
  21. His team was eliminated tonight. Pending any CBI/CIT/Vegas 16 bid, he finished his career with an 0-10 night from the field: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore?gameId=400870703
  22. So much for getting excited about this tournament in 2016. Looks like we will have to wait a while longer to see what tournament the Bills are slated to play in. "https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/661608053700083713">
  23. UCSD Tritons are D2. University of San Diego Toreros are D1 and play in the WCC. Different schools.
