  1. Maui is set for the next few years, we're not invited. After last night, we may never be.
  2. those to and the players he and signed after being brought in. The administration wanted to generate publicity and buzz with this hire, well, they just did. Nothing like being the lead story on Sportscenter for setting a record for scoring futility. At least they scored more than brianstl and signtool ever will.
  3. I kept looking for SignLoser on TV, now we know he was to busy jock sniffing to hold up his cute little signs.
  4. don't you know that you are not to question the abilities or decision making of the current coach? You may also not criticize the talents of current players (unless they are Ian Vouyoukas). You may rip the hell out of Majerus when he quits citing "health reasons" in the near future, but for now, he is a coaching genius and can do no wrong, just as was the case with Soderberg up until the day he was fired, when he then became the scourage of humanity. That said, the best coaches adjust their game plans to the talent they have while assembling the players to run their preferred system. Majerus is not doing that and is killing the talents of Liddell, Lisch and Meyer. It's as if he's just treating this season as a mulligan until he brings in his guys over the next 2 years.
  5. I love seeing the revisionist history going on here. "We all hated Soderberg." "We knew Soderberg sucked." "His recruits were no good and we knew it." Typical of this place, worship the guy who is here and consider him infallible, claim his recruits would be McDonald's AA's if not for the vast conspiracy against us, but when he's gone he was the scourage of humanity, responsible for the wildfires in California, the spread of AIDS and 9/11, while the new guy is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Did it with Romar and his recruits, doing it with Soderberg and his recruits, and when Majerus bails in 2 years, will do it with him. BTW, Soderberg was an excellent X's and O's coach. Look at the way he slowed down Louisville and beat an seemingly unbeatable team. Look at how he designed a gameplan to neutralize Morrison and almost beat a top 10 Gonzaga team, both games with inferior talent. Could go on and on. Brother was a damn fine X's and O's coach but couldn't close the deal with recruiting.
  6. considering you were there you should know whether or not SIU or Mizzou students were involved.
  7. While I was no fan or Soderbore, it seemed that during the last 2 seasons, more often than not, he did too (at a much cheaper cost. ). Making "adjustments" to a crap team like NC AT&T is nothing to write home about - never should have been down in the first place. The test is the Pitt game.
  8. you just unknowingly answered the question. Not the first time a player has been run by Majerus
  9. you're how old? My 7 year old nephew holds up signs like this. Perhaps you two can have a play date afterwards?
  10. I guess TL IV finally arrived. Gonna need a nanny for the team this year.
  11. 16 seed? Never. Try 12-14 seed. Knocked off UNC a few years ago, a rising program with the son of Del Curry. SLU's chance at Vouyoukas's little bro was extinguished considering the vile treatment Ian received this past season, particularly here (don't think family and recruits don't read these boards). Way to go!
  12. In Middle School I had a classmate named Jason Glascock. But yes, this continues the devolution of society, though I am sure brianstl is sleeping out front of the theatre so he can be first in line to see this. The Balls of Fury looks like a trainwreck as well. Cannot believe Christopher Walkin thought it would be a good idea to be in it. He needs to fire his agent immediately.
  13. who is the player with the full arm sleeve tat? That should send the "bad ass" message to the other players!
  14. That will be a moot point come 2007-08.
  15. OMFG. brianstl ladies and gentlemen. He'll be here all week doing shows at 8 and 10, the 10pm show is adults only. Thanks for coming and make sure to tip your waitresses.
  16. agree with skip. It was the kid who withdrew his verbal and therefore has invited other coaches to recruit him. He's on the open market now, unlike Gordon.
  17. and this is applicable to this board, SLU and SLU hoops how? People get in trouble here for talking SLU soccer.
  18. There's SLU Nike gear listed on e-bay. Don't have the links but it's pretty cool stuff. Looks like Coach M's reputation is getting us fans better gear!
  19. >This kid could play and as per the interview, this guy also >got character (being close to family and looking for a >school that is strong academically), a rarity... do you realize at least half of recruits cite academics when signing with a program?
  20. >That just raises a whole new set of questions. For >instance, who orders Sprite at a strip joint? my friend who was with us, he thought it would be significantly cheaper than the $8 bottle of Bud Light another in our group had just ordered. He was wrong and he did not order another one.
  21. >My whole post was a tongue-in-cheek way to rip on Pacman's >completely irrational behavior. I don't think the Admiral, >nor any strip club in the world, could ever be called >"classy." the gentleman's club I went to in Chicago was definitely classy. When one pay's $6 for a Sprite you know it's a classy joint.
  22. >He has gone to the final four and the national title game. >When has that happened at MU? He has had more success where >it matters than MU has ever had plain and simple. yeah, somewhere else. Bobby Cremins has gone to the Final Four but that doesn't make College of Charleston a top program. Has Texas Tech eclipsed the other in-state schools based on having Bobby Knight and his past success - he's done much more than Rick Barnes ever has. Let Majerus coach a season first....
  23. >Never say never, but I'd be really surprised if RM left for >a bigger program. Reasoning: He goes BCS he invites a lot of >pressure. Yes, he's under some strain to produce here, but >it's a pittance to what he'd undergo at most BCS programs. >Also, he doesn't strike me as the type whose in it solely >for the $$$, more a comfort zone thing to him. Again, Utah >wasn't a BCS school, yet he was there for 15 years. No >biggie put out feelers in all that time? I think he reneged >on USC because he sensed the pressure that would come with >that job from supporters, alum, press, etc. If he leaves it >will be for his health. I agree that when he leaves it will be health realated. Major heart problems in the past, pushing 60 years old, more overweight than Homer Simpson, not a good combo.
  24. There were more to the Majerus violations than what was reported - they weren't "minor." The NCAA doesn't give 3 years probation for buying kids pizza and burgers. The situation with this guy at Ohio State was bad enough that the NCAA banned him from recruiting for a year and Wright State fired him. He was giving money to a player, Boban Sobovic (sp?) and according to HBO Real Sports, arranging to have the kid's schoolwork done by others to keep him eligible. The OSU violations weren't minor either, they were enough to vacate the 1999 Final Four appearance and force the school to give back $800,000. Not sure what you mean when referring to the former Bradley HC.
