  1. Rammer and Earl speculated about it during the post-game show but thought it was possible they were confusing it with a high school rule. They weren’t sure but brought it up.
  2. Wow, three mins till game time, maybe 800 people here.
  3. A D2 team had a field day down low tonight. We had no answer. I was surprised our guards didn’t double down in the paint. Make them beat us outside. It was mostly fun to watch for a first game. Lots of hustle on D, presses, they played fast. But it could be a long year if the 5 isn’t fixed.
  4. Gibby has looked good, too. 8 pts on back door cuts and beating his man off the ball.
  5. Bills playing fast. Pressing on D. Often discussed, rarely seen. Sometimes a bit out of control but like the hustle. Bills up 15-13 at the 11:00 mark.
  6. There are TV cameras set up in their usual location at the top of section 203. So someone is shooting the game.
  7. Everyone played hard in the scrimmage. A lot of talent at 1-3. LHJ on fire. Seven 3s (if I counted correctly.) Thames and Parker very good. Gibby was Gibby. Point guards Medley and Meadows looked good. Medley is skilled but awfully small, will have trouble physically as freshman. Dalger looked quite good as did Brad. Didn’t see much from Stef. Zhang didn’t play, was on bench in uniform. We’re deep 1-3, will be fun to watch. But need to clear transfers at 4-5 where our depth is limited.
  8. No argument there. I think it moves the needle for men's basketball, but only a little. Serious NIL is the real need. Outside of a lucky season, we need horses. 4-star players.
  9. Beautiful building. Great place to take recruits. Great place for the hundreds of SLU athletes. Another big step forward. Now we just need NIL and Big Dance appearances. No small feat.
  10. They need him officially involved in the program. Somehow, some way.
  11. This was a page 1 story in the print edition of today's Post-Dispatch sports section. Nice job, Stu Durando. https://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/thomas-expands-his-coaching-circle-by-joining-slu-staff/article_708d6e50-1f48-11ee-be90-7b11674b7d87.html
  12. A Chicago classic. They played it from the stage at their 2016 induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
  13. Thanks for sharing. An excellent video of one of the best Billikens ever.
  14. He liked and spoke a lot with Bernie Miklasz but otherwise 100%
  15. Nice piece from Martin Kilcoyne at FOX2. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. Not pro-SLU or Mizzou. But definitely pro-come home. https://fox2now.com/sports/tko-slu-mizzous-battle-for-love/
  16. This is a very good set of expectations. The only thing I'd suggest is clarifying the first one. My suggestion would be to Win the A10 regular season AND/OR tournament every 4 years. That would mean an auto-bid every other year and a likely At-Large every other year -- presuming the A10 goes back to a two-bid league. If not, then I'd say win the tourney 2 of 4 years. In the NCAA tourney 50% of the time -- either way.
  17. This. Will be interesting whether there’s enough money raised in BVF and via the Athletic Dept in sponsorship. More important now than ever given how we just finished. Guys wanna get paid and play in the Dance.
  18. to us hard core billiken fans, absolutely. but i think Stu's moved on since the game strategy questions were asked in the post-game presser yesterday. knowing that tomorrow might be their last game or, better yet, on Sunday they might be embarking on an NCAA tourney journey, a feel-good story about these "st. louis-area guys" would be a fitting story from the p-d. presuming the bills win tomorrow, this kind of story in the Sunday P-D would be perfect for the casual fan to jump on the bandwagon as they play for the championship. we'll see if they run it saturday or sunday. i'm betting they save it for sunday.
  19. Here is yesterday's post-game press conference. Travis addresses it in his opening statement as well as later in response to questions. Yuri and Franco do a nice job addressing it, too.
  20. Excellent question. Not sure. I can only guess two things: 1) questions like that were likely asked yesterday post-game (or should have been); 2) in the case of Stu, he asked the players and coach a question about the St. Louis area connections between many players on the team. If I were guessing, that will be the subject of his game-day story tomorrow (or Sunday.) We'll see.
