  1. Bay Area Billiken referenced my comment after the AP game that we lost the Heart (Mitchell) and Soul(Reed) of our team while most of the faithful felt we will still be ok, We lost the intangibles of leadership and belief in ourselves that is so critical to the success of a BASKETBALL TEAM---Confidence and a swagger are gone and I would say to you who do we have a leader to stem the tide...and now we are saying this is the worst team since 04/05.The reality is that we have much more Talent but we lack the intangibles mentioned and this is reflected in the regression instead of progression of the freshman who have talent, It also sapped the confidence of our Coaches who have had the potential of getting over the hump at SLU taken away from them FOR THIS YEAR. OUR expectations after the loss was a little off base( i said in October that Rick would be challenged to avoid his first losing season) and leads to craziness about the REALITY of the talent and the future success that CAN happen in 2011/2012. Temper your expectations and hope that Rick and his coaches have not HAD IT and also Hang in there for the promise of success ahead.
  2. Very well said SLU 72--along with that Rick,Porter et al are very upset( even though they can not say that to the press etc) with the cards they have been dealt and may decide enough is enough--Spoon only left because of the same approach by SLU over them not getting it totally---even with the money being spent they still do not get IT--
  3. The heart (Mitchell) and soul( Reed) are gone from this team---as I stated a few weeks earlier it will take everything Rick and his coaching staff have to keep from having his first losing season--- Yes there is talent but they are young(again) and lack not only the talent that was lost but the intangibles provided by Willie and Kwamain---We Billiken fans are eternal optimists but this path was set in motion by the decisions of the SLU kangaroo court---imagine what Rick must be thinking after working so hard to make this a relevant program......and so it goes..
  4. aah the billiken faithful!---let the kool aid drinking begin---have you looked at the talent we lost and the A10 and how strong it is--Rick will be challenged to keep his streak of winning seasons going
  5. Thanks alot for the news---I was looking last night and did not see it
  6. Send a PM to me with your email address and I will get them to you---
  7. I have 2 tickets for both sessions this weekend in Chicago that were bought awhile ago and are midcourt in the third row--
  8. the F in February should be a capital --it is case sensitive
  9. For those of you without charter but with direct tv the game tonight is on 640 which is the charlotte feed on MASN or Mid Atlantic Sports Network
  10. Courtside--sorry but kshoe is right on ---many coaches are afraid of all these things but they rarely happen whereas many 3 pointers have been hit in this situation---most broadcasters are now in the belief that a foul makes more sense since they have seen so many 3 point daggers themselves--the coaches overthink this one because everytime I have seen a coach go for the foul it has never worked against them---
  11. I think most of us believe these ARE 2 all time billikens but where most of the discussion comes from is their lack of stepping it up for their senior year--look at the recent past as Mo Jeffers-Marque Perry-Chris Sloan--Josh Fisher--Izik Ohanon all took their games up a notch their senior year and they were not surrounded by a ton of talent --Only Reggie Bryant had a dropoff his senior year and Ians was slight-----even Danny Brown showed some things at the end of last year that spoke of that extra senior spark so I believe most of the disappointment on this board comes from this lack of a senior upgrade by them both---do not forget that they both averaged 15 pts a game as sophmores which set up expectations they they have not met--who can forget Marque carrying the team on his back and I hoped for the same this year from Tommie and Kevin after a year of adjustment to a new coach
  12. For those of you with Direct Tv it is on Channel 613
  13. following on your theory that we must focus only on winning the conference tourney the next five are VERY important as broy states since a first round bye is still a possibilty and it is a very difficult task to win 4 straight ---Also would we feel that bad about Away losses to Temple and Fordham if Saint Bonaventure and Duquesne were wins---the first two losses changed the whole mindset of the fans and the team --the were the truly BAD losses as we would be 5-2 going into this week ----
  14. record for reg season--18 -11 cusa tourney--1 -1 nit 2-1 total 21-13
  15. p diddy--as usual you are right on--Tommie and father were at Jbucks on saturday for a lunch with the coaches---also joining them was Maurice Scott---We are still the front runner for Tommie---
