I would think it would be hard for a post player to ever score 40 in RM system. Van Horn is the exception but BT is no Van Horn. Sorry, I am not accusing anyone here so I probably shouldn't have posted that. Don't try and act like there isn't some truth to what I said though. Racism at SLU is alive and well unless things have changed in the last 10 years. I heard the N Word and more racist jokes in when I lived on 5C than I heard growing up in southern Illinois and that is pretty hard to do.

I know people will say that this is being really picky but it is a small pet peeve of mine. His name is Cassity, not Cassidy since he is supposedly on campus and will be suiting up for the Bills this year, people should at least learn his name. Iwould think that you would want a game that you know you will win. The 1st game will sell out the arena no matter what, give the people a win. So yeah, I guess Mizzou would have been a good choice.

From a Valley fan, we don't want SLU. Not because of anything about SLU just simply because the Valley already has 10 teams and that seems perfect. Home and home series with everybody. I would gladly kick out Evansville and Indiana state for SLU and Butler/Xavier and this isn't going to happen. maybe we should just be happy with conference affiliations.

I don't like the timing on that one either, the idea that he deserves any sort of reprimand for this seems silly to me. He was just doing what 90% of journalists would do. If RM didn't want it the info out early, there wouldn't have been a leak. As much blame belongs on RM as does Strickland for that. The Cotto/Reed situation is completely different, if they do really end up on campus. I believe they will but nothing is set in stone yet it seems. If they do ultimately end up on campus, Strickland does have a lot of explaining to do.

I don't think what he did by announcing the four players being cut was bad at all. He is a reporter, had a scoop and reported on it. It ultimately turned out true whether people liked the timing or not. If the Cotto and Reed situation plays out like those here on the board then Strickland will have some explainign to do and should issue an official apology to them and acknowledge he is an ass hat.

Maybe if this sort of stuff went in the offseason board instead of the main board for Billiken BBall talk, the moderator wouldn't care.

The only player I entertain the idea of getting from Colorado id Fuentes (sp?). Holliday will cost too much, Fuentes will be cheap since he is only a rental. We do really need another bat though. Go Cards!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with everything you have said. My question would be what has SLU done to take any coverage away from MU since 2002-2003? I would guess that SLU does get more coverage today than it did then simply because of RM and the new arena. If they start winnign the will see plenty of coverage.

Who gets more coverage in the Chicago Tribune and Sun Times, U of I or UIC/Depaul/Loyola? The largest state school is always going to get the most coverage. SLU deserves more coverage from the paper but lets face it, MU articles sell more advertisement than SLU articles.

Didn't want to start a new thead here but since this is thread is already about an exempt tourney for next year I will just add a little news here. The Saluki's are playing in the Coaches Vs. Cancer tourney in MSG (if they make it past their 2 home games). 3 other host schools are Duke, UCLA, and Michigan. Will I be taking a trip to Vegas and NYC this fall?

I like to get a cheap half pint of gin and sit and drink on the steps leading down to the Grand Metrolink stop. Nice safe place to drink without being hassled.
