  1. Recent tounament history including a number one seed and an elite eight run. The school is situated in a much better area to recruit players than SLU. It has been shown it can be done there on a big level recently. THose levels haven't been achieved here in almost 60 years.
  2. Just because they are willing to spend big bucks doesn't make me confident they will make the right choice. In fact the actions at SLU the past couple days (not the firing, but the timing and the actions that followed) lead me to conclude the opposite will happen.
  3. Totally screwed Thorpe and Walker. Nice of Biondi to put them in the lurch after the coaching situation has been settled around the country.
  4. I would save the optimism to see how this all plays out. Right now we are a joke in town and in college basketball circles. Next season has been written off. The administration has shown nothing so far to lead me to believe the hiring process will not be botched in the same way Brad's dismissal was.
  5. David the St. Joe job right now is much better than the SLU has been in decades. They are doing a major facility upgrade. It is not the SLU level upgrade but is still major.
  6. It better be near the top of your list. If you care about the school it should be high. If you care about athletics it should be high. The school has tapped out many of the long time donors as much as they can and much expand the group of big and small donors. SLU has for a while been graduating classes that are over 50% percent female. It is not a good thing to leave a bad impression in that large group of how you treat your female employees.
  7. What I was pointing out is the fact that this could hurt them when it comes to raising funds from females. They do not like this kind of treatment and will remember it happening to CL a lot longer than any guys will. Slu has been turning out more female graduates for a while. Wives on average live longer than their husbands and end up controling estates. So when it comes to this, yes the gender matters.
  8. If CL, as appears to be the case, was left at of the loop on this.... fundraising from females. If I was a female I would not be to happy with the torpedoe job on CL. I would really wonder about SLU if this is how SLU treast it's most high profile female employee. This could have a long-term negative impact on the university. I have heard female caller upset about her treatment on the radio and it was mentioned to me at work today. The ladies definitely notice this kind of lack of respect.
  9. The longer the silence the worse they look. They better have been 8 million reasons for the change occurring. This is looking more and more like amateur hour. If you make this move, at this time you better have a plan. It sure in the hell looks like they have none. I can't wait to pony up my money for next season, which is now looking like it has been completely written off.
  10. JT3 is in my opinion a better all-around coach than his dad. Has anyone else read this article http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1604096,00.html .
  11. I doubt Novelly had anything to do with this. This action is not his style at all, not even close.
  12. Does he have any daughters that are looking to hoe it around town or who are currently attending USC?
  13. That is what makes me question it's validity.
  14. If that is correct the move becomes a much easier thing to explain to any canidate. It also shows that there is a source for big time funds when needed. That also makes the job a lot more attractive.
  15. You mean we are going to get a press conference? That would be nice.
  16. It won't happen, but it is what should be done. It is harsh, but this program can not walk away from $8 million. It just can't.
  17. If it is true I really don't see what choice Biondi had. They need the building paid for. I still don't like the timing. It should have been done a month earlier or a month later.
  18. I didn't mean to imply that it would be. All I was saying as this team has added no immediate impact players and it lost IV. As it stands right now they are not as good. I don't have a problem with the coaching change, but I do have a problem with the timing.
  19. I posted that yesterday. The person I talk to now believes he didn't find out till yesterday morning. Sorry for the confusion. We won't know for sure I guess till the involved start talking.
  20. I think 16 is about right. This team is not as good as last year as it stands right now, but it is not horrible.
  21. I think he would be one of the best hires out of what I think are the realistic canidates. But, he has turned down chances to interview for other D-1 jobs becuase the situation wasn't right. I think he would need some convincing that this is the right fit for him. I think it could be done, but I do not believe it would be automatic.
  22. The problem is that Biondi did not have the track record then as he does now when it comes to lieing to coaches. That is what cracks me up about all the Jay Spoonhour talk. Jay would love to interview for this job because it would be a big step up from interviewing for UMKC and SEMO. Jay, I don't believe, would ever take this job after what his dad endured here. He will definitely be looking for a place that is nothing like this.
