An assistant that won’t be in the running for the SLU job but would be a really good hire for an MVC program is Tanner Bronson.

I think he will end up getting a Big Ten job, but Schertz should be number one on any list.

Nothing will get people more fired up about the Duke-UNC basketball rivalry than when they are fighting against each other to convince Kendric Davis to sign to play point guard for them instead of signing an Exhibit 10 contract with Golden State. I for one can't wait for the kind of excitement that will bring to the table in such a historic rivalry.

And that will fail completely because that would be a minor league sport that will be attempting to operate on a major league budget. The revenues are going to dry up. Their isn't a sizable enough audience across the country that wants to watch a guy that was never good enough to play in the NFL entering his tenth season as Alabama's starting quarterback.

Good luck with that. People are really going to love their athlete employee who is in their 30's, entering their eighth year in the program, never graduated high school and is trying to hang around for another two years to get fully vested in that state pension program. Title IX first off. These schools can't survive without their federal funds.

You think voters and legislators in MO are onboard with adding 4,976 people to the state's public payroll that would happen if the state's public college athletes became employees?

You think state voters across the country that have turned against any funding for stadiums for pro teams are going to be cool with signing a 17 year old QB who hasn't graduated high school yet to a $500,000 per year deal not to mention a women's golfer to that same deal because of state pay equality laws not to mention paying females less would put their federal funding at risk because of how courts have consistently interpreted Title IX?

Exactly, people really have no clue of the actual cost of professionalization of college sports. The added insurance and legal cost alone would bankrupt many college athletic departments. Then you have state pay equality and equity laws which would apply to state schools who won’t be able to drop the now just as super expensive women’s sports (despite the fact they generate much less revenue) because of Title IX. Then you add in what will become declining revenues across the board as college sports become viewed as minor league and you are left with bankrupted nothingness.

I would rather stay away from hiring people who work for Stan Kroenke just on principle.

OU softball is insanely huge. They have averaged attendance above seating capacity for a number of years now. My guess is that it will actually be a revenue generating sport for OU with this new stadium.

It looks like Irby was recently hired as the COO at AEW wrestling. Probably out of SLU's price range now. Irby has a really impressive record after leaving SLU. The fact that Ari Emanuel put him in charge of marketing for PBR is about as high of an endorsement you can get.

I remember meeting him around 20 years ago. He was impressive even then. He was a Woolard hire I believe and I think it was his first job in athletics.

When was the last time we had someone working under the Athletic Director who became an Athletic Director somewhere else down the line? Was it Debbie Yow with Jamie Pollard, John McBride and Lori Flanigan?

Fair enough, but this has been the way the BVF has consistently operated since inception. It needs a complete overhaul.

BVF has now gone another two months without tweeting after going on a two week bender of tweeting commercials for Troy's real estate business. It has, also, gone a month now with out retweeting one of Troy's own tweets of his commercials. There is no link on BVF's X profile to the BVF's website or anyway direction on how to give. If you actually make the effort to find the BVF's website it is only a homepage. That homepage doesn't tell you what BVF does, doesn't lay out a clear purpose, states no long-term or short-term goals, doesn't give you any of the basics of how NIL works, doesn't offer incentives to give and has no way for a person to set up reoccurring donations. Troy is a good guy and he is doing this on a volunteer basis, but nothing about how he has run BVF says he is the guy to run the athletic department in the new college athletic world.

It is going to be SLU’s worst average non COVID average attendance season in almost 40 years. You have to go back to the beginning of the Grawer era for when the Billikens would have drawn worse.

There is no excuse for not having your team prepared to call a timeout after Fordham scored.
