  1. No, BB - we need everybody at every game because that says something to people in St. Louis who go to SLU games because it's a "social" thing to do. Screw that. That's what they do in Peoria at Bradley games. This is Saint Louis University - BLUE CREW-- show up at EVERY GAME. GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE. EVERY GAME.
  2. Philip Gilbert was awesome at BU. Roy, do you know what he's doing now, and this is an honest, no-sarcasm question. Thanks!
  3. YES! Mikey Montgomery! We need him sooooo bad....bring the old Choo Choo train on board!
  4. Yeah, that is just awful...but it gives the band some ripe material when the Dukes come to St. Louis Hit me with your best shot Bullet the Blue Sky - U2 Theme from "Gunsmoke" Any song by Guns and Roses Guns of Brixton - The Clash Guns, Guns, Guns - The Guess Who Theme from COPS, "Bad Boys, Bad Boys" by Inner Circle
  5. I'm a tool? That's odd. Go back to your cubicle and jerk off to some Larry Hughes posters.
  6. As much as you old guys don't like me, I'm going to say that I have a great deal of respect for Taj after this quote in a recent post: "With no history, no tradition, no major conference, no legacy of pro players...one just does not make the quantum leap. A Top 25 is an admirable goal but lets learn to crawl before we walk. Its nice to have dreamers and high-end optimists but for a program that has made four NCAA appearances in the past, what, 50 years.....Hoo- boy!" Spell it out. No history. No tradition. No legacy. That sums up SLU to a T as in Taj. Perfectly worded. We have nothing. We will never have anything at SLU because our Athletic Dept. won't get a Nike contract for merchandise for our student body and alums to wear, and other than the people posting on here, no one cares about SLU Athletics. I wish I had a SLU Nike sweatshirt or something to throw on as I head out to the games. I'll never see that in my lifetime.
  7. What are you saying? Altman recruits quality players and is a perennial Valley power. You can't even begin to say that about SLU. Why would have I had a reason to bash Dana Altman? If he came from Creighton to SLU, that would just cancel out the Warming departure.
  8. Are there any official plans to have tailgating or anything for the game??? I remember when IU came here in 2004 there was a shitload of tailgating on the top of Compton Parking Deck. IU actually out-represented us, go f-ing figure. But any plans guys? Legionaires??
  9. I bet Timmerman never even stepped foot in Grunk's office. Guy spends more time on the phone than my 14-year old sister. And he gives himself a byline. Great work, Dutchman.
  10. Holy crap! Somebody actually did something over there. Nice phoned in effort by the Dutchman, Tom Timmerman.
  11. Damn, you beat me to it!! http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/...sa-greece_x.htm ALL HAIL HELLAS! They probably smelled really, really bad. If only D. Wade's new fragrance was out on the market, the USA could have aided in the B.O. department.
  12. I get it free on my desk everyday. You're more than welcome.
  13. Also, I hear it's pretty dark in the sports room at the PD when Vahe comes in. He casts such a large shadow.
  14. Obi is fine. I was talking to Petyton Jacks at the rec last night and said he's at 98%, which is like saying he's close to 100% if you round up. Peyton and him are BFF's, since they both hail from the country of Texas, which is somewhere near Mexico. I've never been there, but I've been told that it's nice.
  15. Who is this Roy Baum character? He's got some kind of axe to grind, and typical PD editors to put in a Sound Off that blasts the SLU athletic dept. and administration for wanting a genuine college environment. If someone wrote in saying that "oh, the Budweiser Arena is going to boost SLU's rankings and/or recruiting," that person would be rounded up in the middle of the night and shot.
  16. Local - No St. Louis team gets No. 1 ranking -- you got a byline for that sidebar, Nate? You just pull that off the MISHA web site and give yourself credit? The PD never ceases to amaze me.
  17. First question: I'm an alum, so can I join? Second question: I'm pretty much broke, so how much does it cost sans SLU ID? Third question: Can you passback ID's? Fourth question: Beer?
  18. I know a lot of people picked on "potential" that didn't pan out...look at the end of our bench.
  19. The only thing good in Amherst is going to Emily Dickinson's old house on Halloween night and watching the UMass goths screaming her poetry at her house in an attempt to make her ghost come out. They used to burn those people back in the 1600s...Salem isn't too far of a drive...I used to live in Worcester, so I've seen this first-hand. As far as Minutemen Hoops, they haven't been the same since my boy Edgar Padilla left. Or E-Pad as I like to call him.
  20. You know the 'Kandi Man Arena reference was a joke, right? Turns out Pacific's greatest basketball is considered kind of a flop by #1 pick standards...
  21. Ok, everything Marquette does SLU does, you're right, but times that by 50. There's no atmosphere for winning here. It's non-existent. If you can find it, tell me, because we might have to bring in a Haz-Mat team to clean it up.
  22. I always thought 94 was the best year...a draft which included the great Billy Curley from BC, Dickie Simpkins, the greatest player to ever don a Providence Friar jersey, the formidable Fulbright Scholar Yinka Dare from GeeDubb, the "Haulin' Husker," Erik Piatkowski, Heisman Trophy winner Charlie Ward, who at this very moment is bagging groceries in Tallahassee, and who could ever forget Big Eric Montross??? I know I can't. What a class. #1 pick, Glen "Bigg Dogg" Robinson, who does more glass cleaning now that he is a janitor in West Lafayette, Indiana, than he did cleaning the glass as a rebounder.
  23. Good show, that women's tournament. I remember 2001 at Savvis when Ruth Reily and the Lady Irish cut down the nets. Then I never saw a good team play in that building for four years (not counting the MU-UofI games)...
  24. Yeah Pistol, I can't wait until the SLU-Pacific game out in Stockton...are you going? It's at Michael Olowakandi Arena.
