  1. I wonder if the administration knows the answers to the questions that have presented above?? I inquired last week and was told no decisions on psl's have been made, but my mistake may have been asking such a focused question as other options are available and maybe (probably are??) under consideration. Another inconsistency is Cheryl was radio that day (KMOX w/ BM and KTRS with Randy) and I remember her saying along the lines of if you want to sponsor a drinking fountain, we will come up with the price. There was nothing in the letter addressing these types items as one could get quite creative with this. I guess Harry Stonechipher is out as a major donor...
  2. Did anyone else notice our favorite St Charles County law enforcement officer was trying to ref the Ok St/Colo game last night? Gerry Pollard is horrible. And what is worse, this may mean he gets NCAA Tournament games and is going to screw a team and end their season just so he can strut about and look like he is in charge. I hope somewhere sanity is lurking as I cannot fathom that he is one of the 99 "best" officials in the college game (33 play in and 1st rd games times 3). I could certainly see him in the top 5 as far as attitude though (not sure who would be above him, so he may be #1) God I hope we do not see him in the A-10.
  3. you are welcome I am pretty sure she also mentioned $13mil
  4. in no particular order... -CL asked BM to donate and he said he would but his meager wage wouldn't allow for much -BM very curious about who the donor is -donor not gotten by CL but rather by Board of Directors and FB -BM mentioned how Mizzou wanted to keep their big pocket a secret but it got out quickly - CL told him she did not know this but she isn't saying and thinks we will never know -donations were coming in "every day" through Dec and then kind of stopped in the new year -BM asked how hard it is raising $$ during this poor season and CL said for the folks that would have given $500 for a winner they won't give now but the 7 and 6 figure donors can see the future -I somehow am thinking CL said "the donor may match upto $2 mil which would get us to $19" - as a SLU grad that math don't work 13 + 4 =17(not an English major) does someone have a better recollection of this?? -18 months construction from first shovel to bldg opening -still mentions summer '05 potential constuction start date but that there is absolutely no timetable, this will get done when it gets done my thoughts -CL portrays herself very well in these situations -great idea (wonder whose it was) on the matching part as it has sparked interest according to CL -after CL left and a commercial break BM mentions how the MVC has 4 teams with RPI's higher than the highest A10 team but that these things are different year to year and closes with "maybe SLU can have a soft landing in the A10 next year" - what a chowderhead
  5. B-roy, am I dreaming or didn't we have a couple game ending plays earlier in the season and Reg did not get off a shot or at least got it blocked as much as LM did?? or is your point he would have progressed at this point in the season to not be in the same situation as earlier?
  6. Our AD will be on KTRS AM 550 in the 8 pm ct hour to discuss the arena. For out of towners, KTRS does broadcast over the web.
  7. Guest, you realize the response that is coming from B-Roy b/c of your statement?
  8. that on Sat evening Bryce Husack will be DC of Wed?? or maybe more realisticly gets some playing time?? Absolutley not a knock on IV, I am really impressed with the progress he has made in season. But I would like to see BH get some minutes. Hell, play them both at the same time with DP,LM,DB.
  9. The concept of continuity makes sense to me and I am not discounting it. But so also does the ability to put the ball in the goal which I think is key to our problems, but maybe the two are related more than I first thought.
  10. I repeat my opinion on a new bldg...it MUST be the caliber of Paige, I mean Mizzou Sports or very close. If you don't have the $$$ to make it right, wait, don't skimp. These messages about facilities now not being included in the current design makes me nervous.
  11. I think The Mighty Q and Larry Brown's daughter are no longer. Q's current wife's name is Helen, again me trying to think. I also think she may have goten enhanced.
  12. Sorry for being late on this one....but THANKS for that picture. That is a Quarters game I would play!!!!
  13. One game evaluation.... a huge compliment here in today's world in my book - nothing flashy - just solid, real damn solid I think he took 4 3's and made 3 and 6 ft's and made 5 is thicker than I imagined from reports, esp since freshman was being defended by very quick guards and handled very well others on SCW were hot that night so he was not looking to score but to distribute, another huge compliment, he knew his role for the night can;t give eval on his defense, sorry very biased word to those to watch him play...no fans cry like SCW fans, and with Kramer involved, it goes to another level
  14. wish I knew where we are headed with our bball program... brehms I wish we had more to surround your brother as I think he is more than a very nice player.... tom's dad I hope Tom can get healthy (looked like he was holding his head the entire time he was on the bench Wed)... I wanted to keep this positive but just cant if gerry pollard the st charles county cop gets another SLU game this season I will have to leave my seat to scream at him from much closer range when he shows that 'i am a god and am in complete control of the mayhem i have allowed to exist in this game b/c i am a terrible official but i have a whistle in my mouth and a gun in my duffle bag' attitude, of course he will arrest me if ever I am at the same quicktrip where he naps.... somehow we need to take something positive away from the rest of this season or we risk falling back from the progress we have made (I hope that makes sense as it is predicated on being able to upgrade our team through recruiting, some of which I hope is on the way in TL and KL) or maybe we luck into a couple 6'8" dudes with the Paul O'Liney attitude who when he saw Mizzou get waxed by Arkansas said "hey I can help them" and a belated Santa sets them on our stoop.... how would you like to be raising funds for our new arena now....yikes.. and by the way, whatever that counter is counting will go over the 1 mil mark today best to you and slu in '05
  15. b-roy "more concerted effort to get the ball down the floor now compared to the last two seasons" in my mind a concerted effort is more than just DP dribbling down the floor at a fast pace only to find he is the only player there
  16. b_roy "in brad's defense, he is paid to coach the team, not entertain on a talk show. now if they want to change his contract and set up a post game brad soderberg show that he is compensated for..." if there is not something in our contract with our radio broadcast partner for a post game chat with the or a coach, why is it ever done? out of the goodness of the coach's heart?? the university receives the rights fees for the broadcast, I would be shocked if there is not something in the contract saying we will have a coach on after each game. If someone knows the details of that arrangement and I am incorrect, then I apologize. maybe it does not have to be the h/c, but if there is a trend that UB only appears after a win, I would find that interesting. "coach the team" has many responsibilities outside of X's and O's
  17. b/c there are some players I would like to see if they can develop, but they need to get some minutes to see if anything is there that can grow. in no particular order - clarke, husack, meyer and jj.
  18. "I have no problem with stating that polk plays to get experience for the future" B-Roy, does this line of thinking go for any other players? If not, who is going to play with DP in the future?
  19. Actually my fear has been that we may have some transfers out of the program. I do hope that is not on the horizon.
  20. B-roy: any bets they dont ref the shootout again? yep, I'll take that one. Pollard will be there if he continues to ref (I would like to say officiate but that would be stretching it). He gets SLU games, he gets Mizzou games and I don't know why, as it appears he thinks he is the show, and always touching the players, very curious about that, does that mean they can touch (preferably with a good right cross) him? But I wouldn't want to ref either as the best case is half the people hate you with every call. He and the shorter of the other two are St Charles (MO) County sherrif deputies
  21. B-roy, if I remember the stats correctly, Lisch shot 25% from the field, that is below avg even on the current Bills team, so while I have seen Lisch play a few times before, he was not impressive in this ONE game. Just a note, two of the three refs from that game are St Charles (MO) County sherrifs, so I pay for bullets for these dudes, scary isn't it??
  22. What did Clarke and Husack do to relegate them to the pines? I gotta think something is up.
  23. Someone please inform me if I missed something during the week, but the last I saw on Husack from UB is that he earned minutes with his performance last week, and so here comes Hawaii and he sits for 40. What did I miss? Also what is up with Clarke? Thanks for the help.
  24. "Curtis Muse last year, he has high D-1 talent" Wow, I did not see it, high D-1? I don't care if was 6-9, he was not high or mid D-1, maybe low D-1 but only b/c there are 325 D-1 schools. IMO he could not contribute to any D-1 team in Missouri without a great leap in his playing ability, and UMKC is on this list. But back to the real issue, who are these V kids in the 90's and 80's (complete headcases as you referred to them) with D-1 talent that did not get into a school b/c of academic qualifying or lack thereof??
  25. "As always there is a chance that grades will be a problem with a Vashon player" Torch, Please give examples to backup the above statement where Vashon players (other than Nick Kern)who are recruitable skillwise don't get into schools because they can't qualify academically. My quick recollection over the past few years is that Shelton got into SEMO and left (I heard for personal reasons not academic related but I don't know for sure), McKinney and Franklin(for football but played basketball at the V) are at Mizzou, Polk is at SLU, not sure what happened to Gordon so he may or may not fit this discussion and there was a QB at the V that went to Mizzou also, not sure on his status there(I remember him and McKinney being close friends). How many schools in STL area have produced this many D1 prospects in the last 5-6 years and have a better placement record that is public knowledge? Looking at Vashon from afar and commenting on this without really knowing (but that is a large part of internet posting), I think the record is pretty good, all things considered
