  1. Travis Ford is a great coach for us and kids who get recruited do not always blend with the system. We are lucky it is taking several years to build his program as we have been a stepping stone before. His following locally and recruiting locally is the best we have had-even exceeding Grawer. Travis Ford was a top performer as a player and shows signs of doing the same as a coach. people complain about him playing eight players and for many years we had only one or two players on the whole team
  2. Air France has tickets from Saint Louis to several airports in France such as Paris for just over 10 hours-
  3. They never say when grades are an issue
  4. I would like to see a wide body rebounder- if he can block shots that is a plus- surely there is a DJ Foreman type for us
  5. I for for one am excited to see Larry Hughes II play for the Bills:
  6. Bradley is more like our other universities
  7. I guess you guys have figured out which teams our players play more minutes against as well? Thanks
  8. We have the perfect scenario for a big who can play right away and up to 4 years
  9. I want Bill Murray as an assistant coach. we need as many do overs as possible and I am more pumped about Javonte Perkins being at full strength- if we have to play Rockhurst I would not let him dress for the game. This could be a special Billiken year. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=Groundhog+Day+1993+Film&FORM=VRDGAR&view=detail&mid=002E90E307358390C8EE002E90E307358390C8EE
  10. Hasahn French’s most important asset was how fast he could jump for a rebound and if missed shot jump again quicker th anyone else on court. I hope we never have free throw shooter like him again; Goodwin finally, got a little better on free throws his final year
  11. Playing basketball over an ice rink is not ideal. The wood floors do not bounce as well cold
  12. I was referring to Andrew Carr. A stretch 4 brings rebounds and a nose for the ball we missed the last few years. Yes we need a point guard but if we have several better shooters a ball handler who can see the court will be passing to a higher percentage player- if the shot is missed there is no assist
  13. Good luck to new coach Tillett. we supported coach Stone and think highly of her- the new coach may take us to a new level as men’s and woman’s programs often rise together and Travis Ford is due to have a run and has sure brought us some better talent. We like up tempo game atmosphere
  14. This guy looks like one of our answers to a better 2022-23 season
  15. Jim Roder controlled the game and was a better point guard than Yuri
  16. Not a Yuri fan prior to him not appearing in NIT game. If Tennessee plays better competition I doubt Yuri can compete; does not Have eyes in back of his head. He is fast but not the fastest; I am not convinced will ever be as good again; he had a very good season; SLU did not finish well in lots of games because we could not take defensive pressure. SLU got off to lots of good starts only to lose the lead towards end of game. A great point guard has a won-lost record better than Yuri’s
  17. $0 for Yuri that ship sailed and the wife I are watching to see if game changes as a result. We don’t really have to go in person
  18. I have a question? if some stars get paid via NIL will college basketball become a product similar to NBA where there are more and more games and eventually the players coast until the last five minutes of a game? Will it be a dunking exhibition? If games are tied will they have a shootout of free throws instead of 5 minutes of added play per overtime? If it goes that way it will become another sport I used to watch before long commercials forestalled any charge to the goal at the end of the game.
  19. A not too fast guard- ugh grass is not always greener Ford is a great guard coach if you want to work
  20. Evidently if you have money you can contact any potential player and twist
  21. He had a definite ceiling barely six foot point guard who let VCU guards pick his back pocket. In the last three years he improved but he did not play up to Ford’s standards- we have been weak at point because we have athletes who can’t dribble we did not steal at the level we did in the Majerus days and our ball handling has been defined by players like J N and Jordan Goodwin losing the handle
  22. Didn’t YC get pulled in last game he did play for us in second half and sit for 5-8 minutes?
  23. This would be a different assessment of Jimmy Bell if Okoro had not given us the best season we have had from a true center in a long time- the way the season started it was all ML until he got hurt and Frances stepped up.
  24. If we had PHD level academics in PE such as the big ten schools and others it would be an easier environment for some kids who only see college ball as a stepping stone to the pros. Wash U and SLU comparisons fall short of broaching the myriad of choices for 19 year olds and their parents. Being protective of your community identity is a lot bigger idea than letting Craig Upchurch become the media focal point during basketball season. Grads talk much more about what they learned than who lead the basketball team in scoring and rebounds. if you think differently: why is every basketball game free pizza and/or free t shirt night for students. Not too many at SLU or Wash U even attend games unless there are incentives.
