It's sarcasm.

But did he win the future leader of flo valley award?
-
Just settle down, christ, you're like a six-year old meth addict on a cotton candy binge that happens to be laced with ex-lax. Is that a yes, some people have stated they don't want powell at SLU? If so, that's all you need to say.
-
You're kidding me right? Obviously a legit outlet, i mean this is only the site of "a 17-year-old junior in St. Louis, Missouri."
-
Has anyone stated on this board that they would not like to see powell at SLU?
-
You are in a lose lose situation because your lot in life apparently rests on being vindicated on billikens.com (see above post, tennis thread, the "SOMEBODY" post). I kinda feel sorry for you, ok, i don't. But christ, the ridiculousness with which seek to attain some status on an internet board is comical. Maybe you have answered it somewhere, but do you really expect SLU to offer every one of the prospects you tout? Perhaps you need to stop being the eagles or whatever AAU team's water boy, D-I basketball wannabe. Throw your line in the water, maybe you'll catch a little bit of reality.

For ease of reference, let's point out two statements you have made about Butterfield and see if you can see the contradiction: "Why are we chasing out of state pf's like Walls and Stemler and not even offering HIGHLY TOUTED JUCO's in our own state like Butterfield?" (emphasis added) "If you are referring to his recruitment of Butterfield, he is NOT a well-known commodity." (emphasis added) Do you see the contradiction? I'll give you a little while to digest the statements and come back to help you out if needed.

Vtime, i have read your posts for some time now. You are a cowardly twit that rarely responds to a direct question (also, there are quite a few insecurity issues that you need to work on, especially when you proclaim that you are "SOMEBODY" on an internet message board, but i digress...). You know about the local scene, hip hip hooray! I bet you didn't even have to put "local high school basketball knowledge" on the future leaders of florissant valley application (probably because of the suh-weet connections you had at Harris-Stowe).

Billikens next Assistant Coach! Get Excited/Angry...

Also Roy, we all know the ACT is culturally biased. -
A mistake is further compounded if you get a recruit who, while obviously a very good high school player, doesn't fit into your system. Don't know if that made sense, but if brad is going to stick to his slow tempo ball (do we have reason to think otherwise?), then you better damn well recruit the players that fit that system. I agree, why recruit DP if you are not going to utilize that person's skills?

Things seem to be heading south in a hurry

Pass the Kool-Aid!!! Accomplished 4 of the 5 "planks", come on. Just like the right-wing and left-wing nuts, the brad bashers and brad supporters certainly represent the fringe. Brad's accomplishments are somewhere in the middle. -
and the illegal immigrants.

Albright was worked against Jamaica (but in all honesty, the team was a disappointment), so i doubt he sees the field against Ghana. He is versatile and if he doesn't go up against a track star on the flank, i think he is very serviceable. Also, looking through the alternates...slim pickings.
-
I have to give you tort reform right-wing nutjobs a little grief (please note the lighthearted nature); i live near Boulder, CO, so i give the left-wing nutbjobs a lot of grief on a daily basis. If i was more dedicated to some form of Aristotelian absolutism, I would press you and Roy a little more on the Sampson/Bush comment. But for now, i'll just agree with you that we shouldn't soil Sampson's name by mentioning him in the same sentence as GW.
-
"The fact that one of my favorite actors, Cary Grant, sued Chevy for calling him a "homo" is just icing on the cake......" Interesting, you tacitly approve of the liberal notion to sue someone who called Cary Grant a "homo". Better yet, your "icing on the cake" is that Chevy got sued by someone who had such thin skin that "homo" offended him, but you'll deride Vtime for his thin skin. What's next, supporting the Bush administration and their questionable ways, yet denouncing K. Sampson for his questionable recruiting?

Depends on the opponent. If it's an opponent that cannot deal with Landon's speed, i start him up front with McBride (perhaps Italy), if it's an opponent with speed, perhaps you start someone who gives you a little more of a physical presence (perhaps Johnson with McBride against Ghana). I understand that Johnson has speed, but not on-the-ball speed like Landon.

what is the relevance of offers from other schools. My point is whether LS showed enough that a decent eye for talent would have seen the potential. If not, then i don't blame UB for when he offered. If so, then some blame lies at UB's doorstep.
-
Obviously, if the O'brien of '02 is around come June, the pick isn't baffling, but that is somewhat wishful thinking on my part. Although I won't rehash the argument, i think O'brien, when healthy, is one of our top 3 players, if not the best. However, that "when healthy" thing keeps lingering which is scary.
-
I would have picked ching. In the LIMITED action he played, i was actually quite impressed. I think both he and Twellman are of the McBride mold, but i think ching is a bit better in the air (mostly because of his size) and i was impressed with his touch. It seemed wolff did everything right in the past few games, except finish. I think he adds a different dimension, but doubt that he sees the field more than 15 min. a game. I would start landon and mcbride up front. I agree with you, i really like our midfield depth (fingers crossed that o'brien gets fit). The back 4 will be a bit slow, but i like its makeup more than the last WC.

Is it just me or is there a disconnect by folks on this board? There is a difference to me between being interested in a guy early and offering the guy early and a lot of people are confusing the two. Assuming that UB did not offer Stemler in the fall and waited until the spring, then UB might have been on Stemler early, but did not offer early. I think a lot of folks here are simply saying that "offering" early would have increased our chances. My guess is, no one could foresee the Kent State contact going to IU back in Nov./Dec., therefore, being on Stemler early and offering early would have increased SLU's chances of signing Stemler.

this isnt the biggest challenge Brad has faced at SLU

Thanks counselor, but saying that "Drejaj, Ohanon, Bryant, Frericks are a few who came aboard after the signing period" doesn't exactly answer whether those folks signed between May 1 and Sep 1. Came aboard after the signing period? what signing period (early, spring)? I'll be the first to admit that i'm unfamiliar with the history of SLU signees.
-
I'm not familiar with when recruits signed, but did those guys sign roughly from May 1 to Sept 1?
-
Without giving much to timmerman why not say or insinuate that there was a fall back plan if LS didn't sign, even if the fall back plan is to reserve schollies for next year?
-
Has UB recruited anyone during the timeframe you list above?
