  1. Hoops was there!?!?!? I knew I should have went! How did Andre Walker from Homewood Flossmoor play?
  2. >If I'm SIU, I pack my defense in the lane to take away Ian and >dare SLU to shoot from the perimeter. We need a much better >night shooting from young Mr. Lisch and D. Brown. SIU will not be packing any lane. They will play tight man defense all night long, and I expect double teams on Ian when he gets it down low.
  3. >I think Tatum will find it much more difficult going against >either AD or KL. I look for him to be held under 15. > >Bills to win by 9. Dreja and Lisch are very good defenders, but Tatum is very good and his 37 points is more of a product of sliding him back to the 2 guard. Freshman PG Bryan Mullins is now starting and has the ability to run the offense well. Mullins and Tatum both have the ability to shut down Lisch offensivly too. I look for Mike Dale to have a suprising game and make some shots. I think this game will end close, too close for me to even pick a winner.
  4. >Kirk is a great pickup for them. He will be an athlete with >no real peers in the valley. Mo State does a heckuva >recruiting job, if only they had better coaching to go along >with their talented players. Are you inferring that Kirk will be the most athletic player in the Valley? He might not even be the most athletic player on his team. Devean Mitchell is a freak of nature athletically.
  5. > >To be honest, I figured his dad, Hank, would make him go >somewhere in Texas - I guess that boy ain't right! Classic!
  6. >The problem with the strength and conditioning is that there >is only one strength coach. He has a one weight program that >every sport is doing. I am sorry but the cross country team >and basketball team should not be on the same program. The >problem with this is not everyone needs to gain strength. >Some need to maintain there strength and or possible just >tone up. SIU only has one strength coach, but he works mainly with the football and basketball teams. With the other teams on campus, he helps design programs specifically for each sport. Having only one coach is not the problem, he/she working hard enough is.
  7. SIU was his other offer. Bums me out! Tabb will be back at SIU after his prep school year.
  8. >You need to learn how to spell ridiculous. You need to just learn how to accept the truth when someone says it.
  9. I'll try to cover all these points. Ben Hansbrough is under-ranked is the recruiting services. He can flat out play. Tabb is still playing with the SIU guys every day this summer and still considers himself part of the team. If he wants to come back, there will be a scholarship ready for him, even if we already have snagged Ben. Ray Nelson is headed to Moberly JUCO.
  10. >I cant say I disagree with you, but he just doesnt want >anybody else working with or instructing his kids. I can >understand, but I cant necessarily say I completely agree >with it. That is rediculous. His kids? I don't know much about the V and their program, but that says all I need to know.
  11. Does anyone know who is a legit player for Leon Powell. SLU obviously, SIU is in the mix I believe. Any others?
  12. Coach Romar put together quite the class this year. He lost his prized recruit Martel Webster to the draft, but brings in quite a few other good players including Justin Dentmon. From Carbondale, originally signed w/ Illinois State. Didn't qualify and prepped this last year and it payed off.
  13. While I'm not going to call the kid a liar, I would have to believe he misunderstood SIU's interest as an offer. The fact that SIU doesn't have any scholarships would be one reason. Another, is that this kid is below the level of the SIU's, SLU's, and Marquette's of the world.
  14. Anybody headed to Columbia this weekend for the event? It's a fairly small tourney, but it should have some good players. http://www.stleagles.com
  15. Catron is good player. He makes up for his lack of height by having long arms. Athletic, a warrior on the court. I've really liked his game since I saw him about a year ago at an AAU event. Would be a good get for the Bills.
  16. 6'6, 210 lbs. Power forward. Good rebounder, soft touch, good finisher, solid all around play. He is believed to be still growing.
  17. >you have obviously never seen him play saluki. I have seen him play. I don't really think he ever took a shot within 10 feet at the KMOX shootout. And that was against a shorter Van-Far team. If you really think he can play power forward much in the A-10, you must be the one that has never seen him play.
  18. He's only 6'5. Combo forward with the lean to small forward more times than not.
  19. >our board has become a "valley talk" alternative as two >valley schools play "mine is bigger" and we couldnt care >less here. imo, until this rembrandt guy expresses any >interest we arent too concerned about bradley or siu bench >players. What's your problem? A SLU fan posted a name to throw around and I just thought I would quickly dismiss that name based on my experience watching him play.
  20. You don't want Rembert. He is not good at all. His final two choices were SIU and Bradley. Coming out of high school, Bradley's head coach gave the analogy/comparison of Bradley being a Ferrari, while SIU was a Yugo. Turns out he made the right choice...a mediocre program for a mediocre at best player.

  22. I believe it's their 7th straight postseason apperance. 5 - NCAA, 2 - NIT. Last year, they were in the NIT.
  23. Isn't Jihad Muhamaad a JUCO transfer?
