A lot of teams would love to have our Big 3, who are playing elite basketball.
The Big 3 plus 3 pretty good role players in Anya, Kobe, and McCottrey will certainly give Loyola cause for concern.
-
Ball security in the last few minutes was horrendous.
McCottrey was dribbling completely upright and totally unaware of traffic.
Some bad handles from Jimerson and Swope as well.

I'd love to be able to outbid everyone for Bennett Stirtz at Drake, but I have a feeling his price is going to be high.
If McCollum replaces McCaffrey at Iowa, Stirtz may follow.

We sure pull out some surprising wins. The Big 3 came through big-time. Duquesne played very well.

of course i am. and the reason the other teams can contain avila is because anya is offensively challenged. i used avila correctly in the post. you missed the context of what i was saying by ignoring the previous post i responded to i think.
you are correct. Anya is a head scratcher

I think you are referring to Anya rather than Avila.
Nevermind. I was on a different thread. I was a huge Anya fan earlier this year, but I no longer see him as an essential cog for next year.

i love his athleticism, defense and rebounding but he is a black hole on offense. his offensive inadequancy is the reason teams can contain avila. and we havent even touched on his worse than french free throw shooting. players like that infuriate me because with the right work ethic and focus on his weaknesses i find it hard to believe he couldnt become a better game shooter and free throw shooter. he doesnt have to turn into swope or jimerson, but my gosh, its pretty much a dunk or nothing.
I think you are referring to Anya rather than Avila.

We have some turnover machines. And CJS has few other options

At least we’re not #3 Florida, losing to unranked Georgia 39-16.
Yes that would be terrible to be #3

Please change the pregame routine. Brutal

1912 Josh Schertz wouldn’t have seen the moonlight bounce off the frigid waters of the North Atlantic. He’s pure steerage.
This board never fails to entertain. I actually looked up steerage.
Bravo.

Thames + Hughes + Casey would give us an experienced 8 man rotation. Yes, we win several more games.
All teams have injuries at this stage. The broadcast showed a graphic of 3 experienced Ramblers out for the season.
I think our 2 biggest losses this year were Thames and Dotzler

Except we have less than a snowball’s chance in hell of doing anything in it.
Not to mention it would be nice to give the fans hope for the future by winning a higher percentage of these close games. I don't mind missed shots but the multiple careless turnovers are ridiculous.

If we simply cut the unforced stupid turnovers in half, we'd be world beaters.
Billiken fandom continues to suffer.

you could see the Anya turnover coming from a mile away. Holy cow.

Outside the top 3, maybe, but not the top 3. SJU and GMU both dominated SLU. Now it's Richmond's turn this weekend. I'd love to be wrong but the Spiders are the best of the bunch so I doubt I am.
I admittedly have not seen the top 3 teams play. I am suffering from wishful thinking, a common ailment among MBMs.

The A10 actually has 4 teams in the top 100 in NET this year. That has to be the best the league has ever been in women’s basketball
I hear you, but the top teams look beatable to me. Davidson is 94th in the country and blew us out at our place, then we looked way better when we beat them at their place.

Where do you get your weed?
LOL. I've seen enough A10 women's games, and the league is not impressive this year. Why not us?

Got in the WNIT last year with a record of 16-18, currently sit at 11-15. With the remaining schedule hard to see 5 more wins but wonder if the WNIT would give them a bid if they could match that record.
This team is hard to figure out. I say just win out in A10 tourney and go to the Big Dance.

AJ Casey is a complete mystery to me. I was excited about a former top 100 recruit, 6'9" power forward joining the Bills.
But some of the posts on this board about him being out-of-shape around the time of the exhibition games make me take pause.
Anyone in the know ... is he a player? ... does he want to stay? what's his condition now, healthy or still on the mend?
I mentioned AJ looked out of shape at the early scrimmage. In fairness to AJ, he had a lot of injuries prior to that, and he was probably looking to get back in shape in pre-season until more injuries hit. I too am looking for any good "insider" info on AJ. I hope he can help us next year.

We were not great at the free throw line.
With healthy AJ, Kellen and full speed Gibson we win this game.
We certainly miss the early season Kellen. I also would have liked to see Dotzler stay healthy. I have not seen enough of AJ to know if he's a better option than our other subs. AJ looked out of shape at the intra-squad game, and promptly pulled a hammy. At this point of the season, all teams have aches and pains.
I love our starting 5. We need to get McCottry or Max playing at a high enough level to help us in DC.

pure slop. swope has 3 unforced turnovers

Jimerson can’t make the key shot.
He had 18 and 5 rebs. He's playing his a** off.

Gutty win!
McCottry came through bigtime

That was painful.
Hopefully no postseason. No benefit with 3 seniors and no certainty of who will return.
