Well I guess Anthony only shot 4 times so he didn't shoot to much today he just had a bad game.

Hey Thicks I apologize I think I must have been having a bad day and over reacted. So Im sorry no hard feelings.

They won't be here till next year. I think Fisher has gone to the line more this year then he did in his 2 previous years. I think Fisher needs to start shooting the ball alot more and take some of Anthonys shots because the kid just keeps shooting and its not good for the team. Constantly heard the guys on the radio saying that Anthony was not getting out on his guy. Anthony you are a streaky shooter and if your shot is off you need to quit shooting the ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Run the offense.

Against Arizona it was because they were pac 10 refs. I'm not sure about this game because I did'nt see it. But it did sound like GT shot alot more free throws than us.

I have the same view as you do I loved having another guy on the floor that could score. Your right college is about getting better. I don't hate any of the players I know they are college students and athlets and have lives outside of the game. All I was doing was trying to prove my point along with the other posters.I know Reggie's defense will improve because it can only get better. I want all the players to have the same intensity on the defensive side of the ball. All five men in their guys jock and working hard. If all five guys have that same defensive intensity against Arizona we win that game, if we hit all are free throws we win that game, if we stay in the offense every series and make extra passes we win that game. So your right Reggie will never lose a game for the Billikens by himself because it is a team game everyone loses, just like everyone contributs to a win good and bad things. But so you know I don't hate any of the players on this team, Im a poster like everyone else and have my own opinion. Sorry I came across as a hater because a hater I am not.

I agree this is a game we can win it will be tough but we can win. I have us winning by 4.

Heck lets give that effort against GT on Sat. We should give that effort game in and game out every minute your in the game. If all five guys play d on sat and we control the tempo of the game and execute on offense I think we will win this game. This team has heart and experience where you need it with role player to add to that. 40 min of tough defense on your guy the whole game from every player and we can have a chance to win every game we play. Im not saying we are going to because there is always a better team out there. But good coaching and coachable players can beat any team on any given day. When all are kids get this we will win some big games and beat some good teams. This team is a sleeper right now but by the end of the year everyone is gonna know what a Billiken is.

Hunt and clarke will get minutes but not alot. The positions that we need more production from are all the big man role players. Izik,JJ,TF, and the other guy sitting out that can't play for 8 more games. All of our guards are gonna be fine if they run the system and play defense every night not every other night. I mean Fisher does't ever take a break he has to guard the best player on the other team everytime. Last week that player happened to be 6'6". Sure would be nice to be able to switch off that guy for a while so he can concentrate on his offense. I mean if Fisher just decides he is tired and doesn't play D I'm sure you guys aren't gonna give him the same slack or maybe you will if he happens to score 24 points. And for the people that keep saying Fisher isn't a true point I believe he has 20 assists and 8 turnovers, compared to Anthony who is tied at 11-11 on his assist to turnovers.I would also wonder how many more assists Fisher would have if we were hitting our wide open shots and converting all our lay ups. Im pretty sure Fishers ratio would even be better. And if you counted last year he would probably be 20 to 30 assists closer to the record.

Living with his defense now would only lead to more billiken loses every player on the team has to take the same approach to the defensive side of the ball. And I think that will happen atleast I hope I think some teams in our league throw up close to 20 3s a game. His defense will get better because Brad will not sacrafice loses so one player can score 20 a game. He is a team coach and Reggies defense will get better, I just thought I would address the issue. He has great up side and has to games under his belt after a long lay off,just want him to take defensive side of ball like he does his offensive side.

Watch fisher next game when he gets the ball on a break or off a rebound and see what he does. I think he pushes the ball very hard up the floor looking for the first pass to move the ball. The only thing I would like Fisher to do more is shoot the mid range jumper more off the break. So yes I think Fisher is a great point guard.I think slu has a great team and I think when all the players see that bad shots out of the offense and one on one play don't work in this system. I believe Brad has said that many times. Now Bryant shooting some early shots in the offense is okay he needs to get shots to get his game back. Anthony has to tone it down some on offense his defense so far this year has improved from last so he is making great strides and is a good player, we need him to play good for the team to be good. I think our guard play is gonna be great all year. Now our bigs? All I can say is Sloan is solid and a warrior he needs to hit his free throws and some more of those thunderous dunks would be great. The rest of the bigs seem to all still be trying to find their complete games when they all start giving quality minutes this team is gonna be tough to beat. All the players need to get the we can't be beat mentality, we won't lose and Im gonna be in my guys shorts every play. On the offensive side consentration is the key find the best shot solid screens and good cuts to set yourself up for back cuts and spacing to make a good move to the basket and at least going to the line. We have athletic players and this tean is leaps and bounds ahead of last years team at this time. Kids are working hard and making progress. I can't wait for this team to start rolling. It's gonna be a fun season.

Great post I think your right about everything you said it just makes me wonder about Reggie and caring about defense. It's not like he didn't know what coach wanted before the game he just didn't do it on that end of the floor and it really hurt us against Arizona. I hope the same thing doesn't happen with GT.

I have no gripe with Anthony I just think that sometimes he shoots to much and when his shot is off it is off,just like every other good player. He just has to recoginize that it hurts the team if you just keep throwing it up like that. If the shot clock is winding down then throw it up if not make the extra pass and keep the offense moving. It's like he wont get the ball back. So to summarize I have no grip I just think sometimes he shoots to much.

If you give up 15 points in threes because you wont close out and put a hand in your guys face you need to work on not only your defense but your effort.

So if you know your tired and you keep shooting and missing you would think he would know he is hurting the team by doing that your almost saying he is being selfish.

I agree they were better than usual.

6'3" see the court better than anyone on the team. Has the best handles and pushes the ball better than anyone on the team. Rarely turns the ball over. I think Fisher is a great point guard and the guys comentating were correct he is a solid 5th year player that any coach would want running their point.

even if izik is playing 25 min a game fish isn't coming out and neither will bryant unless bryant can't stay with his guy. Some of the shots anthony took were bad shots that he shouldn't have taken. Make the extra pass and screen away. I don't want him to stop shooting either but he needs to look to sloan and fisher and run the offense. They are the leaders and should get the looks. Just like it was for jeffers and Marque. Im not saying just because they are seniors give them the ball. Fisher and sloan are 2 of the best all around players on the team. They both make great decisions. Anthony is a great player dont get me wrong but last game he shot to much.

Im trying to remember watching Fisher play out of control. He pushes the ball up the court hard and has a charge every now and then but he plays more in control every game then any player on the billiken team I think. Always has his hands in the passing lanes and I don't think he has had a bad reaching foul on defense all year. And 94% from the line I know its early but thats gotta be up their in the top 10 in the nation. He is averaging 5 more points then last year and is having a great start to the year. Expect fisher to get better and more confident with every game.

So what kind of numbers would you expect from fisher in his career scoring wise, coming from the point guard position. I'm wondering how many shots fisher has passed up in his career because he thinks they can still get a better shot or a specific play is ran for another player. I think fisher is looking for his shot this year and really hasn't had the opputunity to in the previous years. I would like to see him get more shots. I thought Anthony took way to many shots last game and maybe he should go the the pecking order and get the ball to the seniors when his shot is off. If his shot is on the throw it up Anthony, but when your shot is off give the ball up and stop dribbling so much. The game was a heart breaker but our bills have great heart and will be a good team. Keep it up. And can we please get some more fans to show up.

Couldn't have said it better I think if the other players on the floor can make the cuts and get set up with a good screen fisher will hit them everytime.
