  1. 1. Tulane played to win 2. UAB shot 3-22 from the 3pt line. We refused to stop taking those low % shots late in the game when a FG or FT would've tied the game or put us in the lead. 3. Forced 25 turnovers and had 17 steals but didn't convert because we kept shooting 3's. 4. Tulane shot 10 more FT's than we did because our big men were in BIG foul trouble 5. We kept fouling Tulane on our end of the court!! 6. We kept shooting 3's instead of trying to draw the foul or make an easier bucket. 7. Tulane did what it takes to win, we did not I was so pissed off last night I set my house on fire.
  2. Man, I'm really upset now. To think that all along I believed that Coach Soderberg would address the players before the game on why they need to win for UAB's sake. This news is almost as disturbing as when I found out there was no Santa Claus. Today is a dark day. I'm going to cry myself to sleep now.
  3. Twice in the past two weeks they have beaten CUSA teams that were on our (UAB) backs. Charlotte and DePaul...both good wins for you. Keep it up.
  4. You helped us out by beating Charlotte so now you can do the same and beat DePaul. That would be great. Thaaaaannnnkkksss.
  5. What a dangerous combination, especially if you are an emotional fan like I am. I scream and yell at the refs even if I'm watching from a sports bar. Heck, I even heckle the opposing team if I'm watching it on TV!
  6. Hotshots in Chesterfield has picked up a few UAB games for me that were televised on FoxSports this season. You guys might want to try them as well.
  7. How good do you think they really are? I noticed that you guys played them tough on their court before falling in the 2nd half. UAB has Cincy at home on Wed and then we go to Memphis. We are hoping to pull at least one of those two out but Memphis is the one that confuses me the most. They've had trouble at home vs Samford, Belmont, Mizzou, and with you. (all very close victories for them) After seeing UAB play and Memphis play, how well do you think we match up with them on their court? They are riding a 9-game winning streak and just broke the AP top 25 at #23. Thanks for your insight.
  8. 46-45?? Was it a defensive battle or an offensive struggle? Good job in putting the game away though. UAB fans thank you for that.
  9. I will be out and about during today's game (taking my fiancee to a play at Fox Theater) but I want to get score updates on our way. Just need the radio station here in St. Louis. Thanks.
  10. Man, I hope you guys beat the crap out of Charlotte.
  11. the following must happen: 1. Your players forget about the 4-game losing streak and how well Charlotte has played 2. Your fans must support the team as if they are on a 4-game WINNING streak 3. Contain the 3. Stop Brown and Plavich and you win the game. Charlotte does not have the ability to make up for those two having a bad night. When we beat Charlotte we held them to 1-18 from 3 and Brown & Plavich had a combined 6 or 7 pts. Withers was the only way they stayed in the game and didn't get blown out. Good luck on Saturday.
  12. CUSA refs suck as a whole. All games have been poorly officiated. That is an understatement.
  13. who was played and coached w/ Nolan Richardson for 20 years. Thanks for the compliments though. We are in a rebuilding stage and have done better than anyone would've expected at this point.
  14. Louisville is very good. They press and crash the boards....we just press. The game was closer than the score indicated but UL made 23 FT's. Both of us shot around 30% that night. UL has a lot of weapons. Dean, Garcia, and Daniels for 3's...Whitehead for rebounding, OBannon for this and that, Dartez is a good role player, etc.
  15. I do not understand what is going on with Memphis right now. They barely beat TCU last night, they played VERY close games vs Belmont and Samford at home, and their whole season has been a mess. You guys are a disciplined team and sometimes Memphis is not. At times it seems as if the Memphis players do not know their role which creates a mess on offense. The key to you guys winning that game will be protecting the 3, especially from Sean Banks. Your coach has a week to prepare for it so hopefully he can get a good game plan in place. Good luck.
  16. The game looked evenly called on both ends. I do think that the refs did a good job. They were nit picky about traveling though!
  17. Sloan is a great FT shooter and Frericks is a good big man if he could stay out of foul trouble. Your guys did a great job of keeping Kennedy in check the whole game. He is a great offensive weapon but couldn't do much with Billikens smothering him when he got the ball in the low post. Just so you know, our players are up at 6am every morning running and doing sprints. They are in EXCELLENT condition. Good luck the rest of the way. I hope to make it to a few more games of your before the season is over.
  18. but there's no way you can have a gameplan when playing against us. We don't even know what we are going to do!
  19. Our attendance has gotten better but tickets are still easy to get. Just show up an hour before tipoff and you should be able to get them no problem at the booth. The reason why I say one-hour is because there might be a bunch of fairweather fans coming to the game because we have won a few games in a row and made a little bit of noise. The arena is very easy to get to from I-65. You'll have to exit off of I-65 South (either exit 256A or 256B..i think). If my exit numbers are off you'll see the signs for the university. Get onto University Blvd and you'll see the baseball field on the right. At the next light take a right (after the practice football field and across from a parking deck under construction). That is the biggest and best parking lot to use for Bartow Arena. The arena is on campus but there isn't that much parking due to construction of the parking deck. If you get there an hour before tipoff you should have no problems with tickets or parking. Hope that helps.
  20. I'm looking forward to the game too. Let it be noted that I am making no official prediction for the game on Saturday.
  21. It should be a very good game. Glad that it's on tv here because I can't make it down.
  22. You guys looked great at the beginning. They were taking good shots and playing smart. Didn't see the ending because I've been glued to Yahoo listening to UAB's game. At least you contained d. brown and plavich
  23. Saw on the CUSA website that you led the nation in soccer attendance. That's fine and dandy BUT IT WON'T HELP YOU ON SATURDAY!
  24. CBS Sportsline has both UAB and SLU picked for at-large bids. Aside from your game w/ UNCC we will both have identical records overall and in conference play. The winner of Saturday's game will make their case even stronger for the tourney. Good luck against Charlotte.
