  1. Ahhhh. I thought I recognized that voice.
  2. Kevin something. Went by K Dog. Was a legend in his own mind. Mixed a mean trash can full of Everclear and Hawaiian Punch though. Mid 80s.
  3. David King and K Dog.
  4. Where is Earl Austin, Jr.?
  5. I think Sekeue Barrantine is warming up...
  6. Who pays for the electricity.... ...that pays for the force field around the Bills' basket?
  7. Awesome pass by Reynolds...
  8. RA gets misses, but he gets better with each game overall
  9. MY is killing us...again.
  10. Me too. I hope that he is happy about being part of the recognition event. I am really disappointed that this is after the game. So short sighted from my perspective.
  11. Wow. That is really sad. Dwayne was one of the brightest athletes I have talked to at SLU and there have been some very smart kids playing sports at SLU. Eckerle was very bright, Jeff Harris was very bright, Ted Mimlitz was very bright (another pre-med guy). That is one of the things I like about our programs, we have recruited some very good students. And, yes, some knuckleheads, I remember them when I was there... Now, as for Tatum, I think he is going to go wherever he feels he is going to have the best one year experience and where he can have the best legacy. He has mentioned leaving a legacy in at least one interview. That could mean anything, but he seems like a smart kid with his head on straight - a credit to good parenting!
  12. I get your point. That said, if you saw a fat women walking down the street, you wouldn't walk up to her and say, "you're fat!" You have the right to. Your speech is protected. But, even though you don't know her, you wouldn't do it (at least I hope you wouldn't). However, for some reason, on the internet, people feel free to say anything, anytime. That is bad enough, but these kids people are ripping are OUR TEAM. They are going to be our fellow alumni. And, they are still kids. Heck, most of them this year are still teenagers. Teenagers! I guess when you have teenagers (and/or have raised them) and you realize how vulnerable even the toughest 6'2" 215 lb kid is, you just feel differently. Reasonable criticism of play is fine. Obvious joking around fine. But a lot of the comments here are just downright mean and insensitive. I am really not criticizing any particular poster, just trying to interject with a little perspective. I'm sure in frustration we have all posted things we know we shouldn't have, but the incessant and sometimes vicious comments several days after a bad loss just seem over the line. Just my opinion and trying to think about the impact on the kids (and at least some of them DEFINITELY read this board).
  13. At least, if he is committed and has good guidance.
  14. So true. Every time I see an opposing player in the corner, I cringe because I know much of the time the defended is sucked into the middle, So for two years, Crews' teams were effective in 3 pt. defense and now they are not. Just curious - is that a function of the current crop of frosh not willing to play defense or is it more a function of the two previous teams just remembered what Majerus taught them and Crews was just fortunate to have the latent effects of that?
  15. If senior night is not held before the game, then that will be pretty definitive evidence that someone in the athletic hierarchy is tone deaf.
  16. It seemed like most on this board were very impressed with this class of recruits including Ash. Was that in an alternate universe?
  17. Perspective is everything. Thanks for the reminder.
  18. So you're saying there's a chance...?
  19. Which part? If it is the part about the sign, then I stand corrected.
  20. They also received the #1 seed for their conference tournament! Games were this weekend, but I have no idea how the Gorlocks, er, Gorloks, did. ' P.S. I always thought "Gorlok" was from the combination of "Gore" and "Lockwood" hence my misspelling.
  21. I have no idea who Clock is, but the constant narrative that the private schools offer scholarships to poor kids just for sports is so incredibly off base. I get so sick of hearing this. The majority of kids who come from economically challenged areas (primarily the city schools) are not big time athletes, many of them (probably a majority) don't even end up playing on a varsity team. Whether it's CBC, SLUH, Vianney, MICDS, De Smet, Chaminade, etc., there is a constant effort at our reach to help these kids. If some of them turn out to be great athletes, that is fantastic, but the important thing is that they are receiving a very good opportunity to better themselves. The high schools definitely look for kids who are well-rounded and begin an athlete may be part of that, but so is being involved in other activities. It just so happens that at the grade school level sports are the most obvious activity that is easily identifiable.
  22. He's the one who stood in the stands with a sign that said "Fire Soderberg". If anyone should ever be fired from a job, it was obviously Metz! Talk about a train wreck.
  23. I disagree with this. I have seen improvement by the players, but the improvement as a team is very limited. I think a big part of the lack of team improvement is a lack of a leader on the floor.
