  1. 2nd TO 18-10 and Welmer at line for +1. Still no turnovers.
  2. 25 band members, 6 cheerleaders, apparently no Baby Blues.
  3. I have no issue with the Wiz posting his predictions. It just grieves me to see someone like SIUC favored by 12 points. And all of this year's predictions grieve me, because they're always 10 to 30 points away from where I think we should be as a team.
  4. The subject line grieves me. (As have almost all of The Wiz's subject lines this season.)
  5. Et tu, Roy? What about a loss to McKendree? (Yes, kiddies, that happened, back in days of yore.) Or losing to UMSL and SIUE in the same season? It may not have been worse, but it's certainly been as bad. And nobody punched the coach at practice last year.
  6. Does anyone really think Ford managed to recruit all those guys and get all those transfers based on anyone currently on the team? The obvious pitch was "You'll start from day 1" or "You'll easily get at least 25 min/game the minute you suit up for real." When life Crewsplatts on your head, wipe it all off and start clean.
  7. Ahh, yes, you hadn't yet arrived during the Coleman or misspelled Albright years, had you?
  8. For a while, it kinda felt like we were back in college, didn't it, Roy? Except that the gross underattendance in the student section wasn't mirrored by gross underattendance in the rest of the arena.
  9. Oh, yeah, that was the icing on the cake. At least 10x more K-State fans at the game than students in our student section. I saw lots of kids wearing local hs sweatshirts and stuff, though. I bet they'll be really eager to come to SLU.
  10. Game day management this evening was the usual clusterfork. So, I guess they didn't know in advance that they'd have several thousand more people than usual. Musta all been walkups. That's the only way to explain not having about half of the checkouts open at several, maybe all, of the concessions stands. And the trash cans overflowing in the men's rest rooms. Also loved the "Home Alone Cam." Very well thought out and explained. Finally, although I always thought anyone would be better than Gus, even the PA sub was pretty bad tonight. And how, you may ask, was this the game-management group's fault? Well, perhaps everyone else in the arena save me and the folks sitting immediately around me heard him just fine, no muffling, correct distance from the mic, etc. If not, someone should have simply walked down and told him. Luckily everyone was so distracted by the utterly abysmal basketball that they probably assumed that everything SLU does is abysmal.
  11. Yow. 13:00 left. Grand Canyon Antelopes 46, Louisville 45.
  12. Michigan State 34 Oral Roberts 33 at halftime.
  13. You will note this paragraph in the obit: "His designs are transcendent and diverse. Chaifetz Arena on the Saint Louis University’s campus brought simplicity to a multi-use facility, Alberici’s 110,000 square feet headquarters is a marvel of sustainable materials and the new Central Institute for the Deaf campus is designed to match its existing 1927 Mediterranean-style building." Most certainly he didn't design an 110,000 sf building on his own either. Nor did Gyo do that for the Planetarium, Priory chapel or the Eagleton Erection. But it's fairly standard practice to attribute overall projects to a single person, as has happened in a number of the tributes to him from the past few days. For the record, the official team on the Chaifetz project was: Dan Mitchell Principal-in-Charge Jim Konrad Project Manager Marcus Adrian Project Architect Kyle Wagner Architect
  14. Um, yeah, OK. By that logic Gyo Obata wasn't the architect of the Planetarium, either. http://www.mackeymitchell.com/projects/chaifetz-arena/
  15. I've known Gene for about 35 years and I never connected it that he was the Chaifetz Arena architect. http://bit.ly/2gQ4BFk
  16. Well, I'm sure the Wiz has some grades to show us, but off the top of my head, we can probably beat SIUE at home, and later down the line we should be able to stop powerhouse NC A&T. And I bet we win at least 2 in conference, although woe are we if any of our at-least-mediocre players get hurt.
  17. Hey, so what was announced after the Samford game ended? I heard something as we were leaving about the next game being Saturday at 2 p.m. against Eastern Kentucky. That's the women's game, but did Gus actually say it was the women's game, and did he say anything about K-State? Of course, we were so numb from watching the numb-nuts play that I may have simply missed everything.
  18. Said big booster had the ear of the prior autocratic president. Between a new, receptive-to-outside-ideas president and a newer booster with high quality standards and at least 20 times the donations of said big booster, I think we might have a chance at a change.
