The thing I remember about Tyus was he came to a few games when UB was here and everyone was creaming their you know what thinking maybe he might sign w/ SLU. Guess I just lumped in with the like of Suggs, Griffey figuring he was a top 50 or 100. Mea Culpas. There's just no way to slip or assume anything by the most knowledgeable posters in the land.

This is purely selfish, but I'd love to see us do a H-H w/ the College of Charleston. We've done it w/ Davidson and Furman, why not give the kids a trip to the historic Holy City. And trust me, RM would love the restaurants. I mean love 'em.

Should add, that if the Hill kid has really re- opened his recruitment and expressing any interest in SLU, I'd rather move someone out for him than a one and done castoff from UL.

Ain't that the truth. Griffey, Swopshire, a kid who went to FL( name escapes me), Suggs, etc all highly recruited who never really panned out as expected. Not saying they had bad careers just not what was envisioned at the time they were recruited. Would they have been better off at SLU? Probably may have had more of an impact here, but still no guarantee. Never ran the numbers, but the recruits who have the most impact all seem to come from the top 10-15 in the country. After them, it's pretty much a crapshoot and impact players can come from anywhere and develop at anytime.

Hard to argue w/ the team chemistry thing, Billikan. And I can't see RM guaranteeing this kid a starting position, which is probably why he wants out of UL. Still, given the uncertainty of BC's replacement, might he not be willing to take a chance on a kid who seems to be a hard worker, athletic, and is a real student? IU did it a few years back with a kid out of Auburn, and I think he became a first team big 10 performer.

My bad. Damn Jack and cokes mess with my math again. And K, I know their poll's for next year. But a lot of their reasoning probably is based on this past season's performance and who we've got coming back.

K, I think you may be discounting CE at the 4 next year. If BC could make the huge leap this year, than CE is fully capable of doing it as well. I don't know what RM will tell CE his role will be next year, but if he says, "you've got to pick up BC's slack", I really think he can do it. Add to that his ability to hit 3s, CE could be something special next year.

I can't believe that any of you would not want this kid to transfer here. First, he must know the value of hard work and tough D having played 3 years for Pitino. But the big thing is we all think we're very close to being at least a sweet 16 team next year and any player that could step in and contribute toward that goal from day 1 would be a huge get.

I'd agree about GG. He was a UNLV recruit and they're known for recruiting athletes. I apologize for leaving out CR as a possible BC clone. But he is an enigma wrapped within an enigma. At the end of his FR year he was showing progress. Then a nothing SO year. Then an up and down JR year. Why? He's been in the system for 3 years he ought to have grasped it by now and shown some consistency. But he does play better D than BC, and is probably a better rebounder, he needs to develop his offensive skills. I don't think we need our inside guy to be a 14 ppg man, because our guards and CE should provide most of our scoring punch next season, but we do need a guy with BC's toughness and the ability to be a threat to score.

Calipari stated his team leads the SEC in GPA. Which is a little like saying, "My dad's Donald Trump, but I made my billions on my own."

Don't forget UW as well. The Huskies will be no easy W at home. Still, would like to see us add a power like MSU to the OOC. As for replacing BC, even w/o the longshot of getting Swopshire, I think we'll be ok if: 1.) CE's inside game improves 2.) RL plays physical as he showed at times 3.) Manning is what RM says he can be 4.) Glaze comes along 5.) DE develops a nice mid range jumper Actually, we could be improved on the inside, no slam on BC whatsoever, if all the above comes to pass.

Cowboy, I don't profess to know the NCAA's rules in these situations. It just strikes me that there have been numerous cases in the past where the coach either leaves voluntarily or non vountarily, and the kid is then given his release. Most likely the kid is bound to his signing to a school, but schools tend to be "liberal" in these cases and grant him his release. IU could very well take the hard line with Hill and he'd be stuck in Champaign. But I'm thinking a lot of kids who get caught in these webs tell the school, "well, I'm transferring out after doing my one year." But, again, I'm no expert on these deals.

I could easily see us beating 65% of the teams he listed as top 25. Did he not watch the MSU game at all? We hit just 2 more of the many wide open 3s we had and we're in the sweet 16. Or another way to look at it, take Green out of MSU's lineup, we win by double digits. I know folks on here will say, "how do you take Green out of the lineup", well he's graduating this year and they're still listed in the top 15. BC's leaving us as well, but even w/o him I think we could take MSU with who we'd have left on the floor. I am hoping that when Izzo said to RM, "call me." He wants to set up a home and home w/ us. Izzo's not afraid to play anyone, so maybe this game is doable. Damn, October seems a long way off.
