  1. Everytime I hear Katie talk SLU soccer I am more and more impressed with her. Not just her knowledge of soccer but maybe more importantly her leadership qualities. We need to get her signed to a big-time, long-term contract. I also like how she always seems to fit in some praise for C Allen
  2. I assume you are referring to the 8-11 year old age group as the demo Zac's tank top appeals to? Go Lady Bills
  3. Good job guys, but please Zac, no more tank tops! Not a professional look.
  4. Watching this video confirmed two things to me. 1st, as in the first video, Gibson is still shooting from a starting spot of no lower than his chin (unless the pass to him made him catch it low) and 2nd, as I think was pointed out by someone a couple of weeks ago, Parker's shot starts down around his waist so that could be a problem against a tough defender.
  5. When do they get back to STL? Are they spending some time now doing some more sightseeing? When they get home can they continue with practices or do they have to stop for a period of time? Sorry for all the questions. Maybe someone in the BB office can answer.
  6. The SLU Ath website says 27 a pierce for GJ and Parker and another 27 for Thames, Hughes and Jake F combined so those guys account for 81 of our 102 points. This indicates to me that Perkins didn't play a lot so it seems logical that GJ and SP hit the great majority of 3 pt shots. Since we hit 46% of our treys that it a great indication of how those two can contribute in 22-23. I know, we weren't playing Duke or Kansas but I still like 46% against anyone and I'm sure The Wiz does also!. With the game score, it was probably 40 minutes of a hectic pace so at this early stage of the season, I can live with 18 TO's with one final assumption that Yuri was not in the game for over 20-25 minutes at the PG.. The trip seems to have accomplished what TF would have wanted, including team bonding with a slew of new players and hopefully no injuries.
  7. Drake beating KC, 3-1 is not much to talk about. KC tied Lindenwood 0-0. That's the same Lindenwood that we beat 9-0. I know comparative scores can be misleading, but assuming the KC-LU tie means they are somewhat comparable then Drake's 3-1 win pales compared to our 9-0 win. I will be shocked if Drake scores a goal against our defense. Go Lady Bills
  8. Courtside thanks for the report and video clips. On the second clip, where Gaebe missed the shot to the left of the far corner post, she passed up an easy SLU goal if she had just passed the ball to the wide open teammate to her left. Maybe a teaching point for Katie. What a great start to the year. On to Drake and lets pack the place for ND.
  9. A good article in the P-D today talking about the impact of 3 players who played little or none last year, Lawler, Larson and Groak.. If those three can make it without losing playing time this year this will be a heck of a team. None of them were included in the A 10 preseason 1st team all conference list, but if healthy, they would all be of that quality.
  10. torch, I like your take BUT as much as I like Jimmer I think you are way high on his PPG. He will probably have a couple of games where he gets 23 but not an average. I think our leading scorer will be, as expected, Perkins. Trying to do a reasonable look at the team's PPG, I think these following numbers are possible for each player, but likely err on the high side. JPer-18; GJ-15; Parker-12; Yuri-8; FO-8; FT-7; J Pickett-7; TH-5; JF-4; Freshmen-4. This totals 88 which I don't think a TF team will ever get to.
  11. Iona could be a nice, competitive H & H series for the next few years with the RP/TF connection, especially if they continue to get into the NCAA as a Conference champion.
  12. cgeld, agree with you on Cisse. I know we might have been playing the little Sisters of the Poor but he still showed some excellent basketball skills. I don't know about returning players or new additions in the A 10 but it seems like he will be able to hold his own against the returning "5s" that I recall watching last year. He is much better than I had hoped he would be.
  13. Having Anna Lawler back is big as long as she is 100% healthy. Probably one of the best players to come out of STL high school in the last 5 years. Also thanks for the update on Hannah and Emily. I can't remember if we have ever had a team this deep. I think our 2nd string could finish in the middle of the A 10.
  14. I am certainly not a MD but I am surprised that Hannah Larson is not wearing anything to protect her knee from re-injury. I would hate to lose her again this year.
  15. "You just can't fix stupid" especially if it works in the acct dept at a state school. Which one of us would not have fallen for a scheme to send $470,000 to a bank in Nigeria? Can you say none of us???
  16. But it sucks as part of the season ticket package. If that's the reason they are on the schedule then we better get that recruit.
  17. To have enough games to get your season ticket dollars. One of the worst home OOC schedules in recent years. The 2 tournament neutral court, Auburn and Iona are the 4 best OOC games and none of them will be seen by season ticket holders. The only other OOC games I have any interest in are SIU - Carbondale, Memphis and to a lesser degree Drake. Murray State and BSU are supposed to be down this year. What happened to all the coach-speak about building a difficult schedule? Something is wrong when Memphis and SIU-C are your top home OOC games.
  18. Why does it seem that there is absolute certainty that Yuri will leave after this year? Doesn't he have another year of eligibility?
  19. Me too and I hope Courtside stays with us. Meanwhile, 05, 13 and Pistol can have their own thread and need not come to this one with their personal hangups. Seems like the best of solutions for all involved,
  20. If it wasn't for Courtside we wouldn't have 90% of the news we get regarding the Women's soccer team..
  21. I spent the morning trying to figure out if Forrester has one or two years of eligibility and can't find a credible answer. Do any of you Billikens.com MBM's know the answer for sure?
  22. Congrats Peyton on returning to your roots in St. Louis as Director of Operations for the Women's team. I wish you would have come here instead of Mizzou to play, but I know you will do a great job assisting Katie and the rest of the team as the D of OPS. Hopefully an Asst. Coaching Position opens up for you at SLU during the next couple of years. Welcome home!
