  1. Skip, add Carlos M, to your list of contracts going away.
  2. I think no one really has any idea on how all these redshirt, tranfers, JUCO pickups Covid year rules actually apply and therefore I suggest we just play guys for however long we need them and they want to stay in school. No one will have any clue as to if we are correct or not. This is more complex than splitting an atom.
  3. Has anyone found Parker's shooting or scoring stats? There are now 2 separate posts about him being a 40% shooter from beyond the arc. That would be great if true. I just have not seen any basis for that stat. He certainly looks very good in his highlight video.
  4. Going back one page, one of our knowledgeable local recruiting posters - 3star- is likely not too excited. If he is really 6'3" it would seem like he is a good roster fit as a juco transfer, eventually replacing our two guard vets who are new this year, Williams and the C Ark grad transfer, Jones. In any case, I would say the initial descriptions of this player were a bit overblown. I still haven't heard that Williams has been cleared by the NCAA to play so this this might be a backup plan in case Williams doesn't wind up at SLU.
  5. My only point was that if SLU wants to really ensure that attendees meet the vaccination (or recent test result) it needs to require the 3 items that I mentioned If they choose not to, which is likely, then we are fooling ourselves to believe that all attendees are "safe." By the way, you say that there is no way that SLU is "requiring all that." You do realize that my post only requires one more item than your post, so I think referring to it as "all that" is a bit of a stretch. And of course my 3rd item is required to board an airplane, cruise ship or receive a passport.
  6. It takes more than just flashing a picture of a vaccine card, right? The phone with the picture of the card could be anyone's phone and card. Since our names aren't on our tickets won't we also have to show something to show that we are the person whose name is on the vaccine card picture? Really, the only certain way to make sure the card picture is the ticket holders' is if the 2nd doc is a picture ID like a drivers/student/military card. So to gain entrance I will need 3 things: my ticket, my vaccine card or a picture of the card, and an item to prove that I am the person named on the vaccine card/picture. If not then anyone can get in with someone else's card.
  7. The mask requirement for indoor venues is a City requirement which I imagine will still be required at Blues games unless they have worked out some special deal with Mayor Jones and her medical staffers.
  8. I would be very happy if we could get 8 points per game -PPG from Yuri to go along with his superior PG duties. The following is just a early guestimate of POSSIBLE PPG from the players. Obviously it will not work out this way but I believe the individual numbers are possible averages for the players, acknowledging that it's not going to happen for each of the players. I started out with the PPG mentioned above for Yuri. YC 8; JP 18; GJ 10; F Okoro 10; J Nesbitt 12; R Williams 10; D Jones 6; TJH 12; FT 6; ML 6; Group of MS, AL and LT 5 total. I think this comes to 103, so again this is not what I expect each and every player to average but rather what I see as possible for each individual. I guess my point is that this team has the potential to score quite a few points per game, especially if TF uses the depth of this squad to up tempo the offense and apply more pressure on defense. A side question for the Board, has RW been cleared by the NCAA to play this year? I can't recall seeing anything on this. We are just a little over a month away from the first game -Rockhurst - and I can't wait to see this new and improved version of the Billikens.
  9. Steve, I have been unable to use Billikens.com for around 2 weeks with one or two exceptions. However, all is good today so whatever you did seems to have corrected the problem. Thanks for taking the many hours you spend on this "project" to provide a tremendous service to us Billiken fans. I am really looking forward to the start of the season and seeing FO and JN in person along with the hoped for improvement in many of our returning players, especially Yuri, TJ and GJ. Also I'm hoping for an even better year from Javonte and his additional 20 lbs. of muscle.
  10. When I go to the link all I get is a segment on MIZZOU football. Edit: the link takes you to a 9/3 show. The interview with CT is Segments 4 and 5 on 9/1.
  11. Steve, I'm sorry that you are having to work on Board problems, but I have had problems getting any response from Billikens.com for at least 7-10 days. Thanks for your work to fix it.
  12. While a few more games are needed to fill out our home schedule, so far it looks like our OOC schedule is our toughest in many years. Using the top 144 website, it seems like we will have 8 OOC games against top 129 teams. So far the following are ranked: Mercer (H) 129; Buffalo (N) 87 Boise St. (A) 80 I certainly could be wrong but I think the following OOC opponents will come in above #80----Belmont (H), Drake (N), Auburn (H), UAB (H), Memphis (A). What's not on the schedule is what the Selection Committee would consider a signature win, with the exception of Memphis (A). Tough road ahead
  13. Obviously we need improvement in our goal scoring which can happen via injured or suspended players returning to the lineup. One other possibility is a position change. Unfortunately, because many of our defenders are from across the river or further out of town so I did not get to see them play in HS. (I seldom, if ever, cross the bridge to watch Illinois teams) Getting Miller and hopefully Groark back soon will certainly help and I had hoped to see more from our Union, Mo freshman but even with all of the above we still could use some more goal scoring ability, which takes me back to position changes. While I CLEARLY defer to Katie's knowledge of all her players' skills, I do recall two local players who were excellent scoring at top level high schools-Kohl and Heckel. The latter led her team in scoring as she and Jess P. led Nerinx to a second place finish in the MO large school division in their Junior years-they lost their senior years due to the Covid shutdown. Both Kohl and Heckel are aggressive, physical players and Heckel, I believe, is listed as our tallest player. Just a thought to shake things up.
  14. Seems like lots of injuries to start the season. . The more serious one's-Lawler and Larson- are a big loss and hopefully we can at least get Lawler back along with the others with minor injuries. Plus getting everyone off the suspension list has to help, especially since it obviously included some team leaders. KU will almost be like our first game but it would be a nice win. 0-3 is not a way to start the season when we were ranked in the top 25.
  15. Agreed, that's why I didn't name any names since there are a few question marks. However, as a group the DNPs is weighted heavily with Jr's and Sr's. It's also possible that one or more of the suspended players are also on the injured list.
  16. Our friends from 120 miles west just came in at #81, 10th in the SEC, projected to go to the NIT.
  17. What is discouraging is that the group of DNP's is comprised of some of our best players and all of them were upperclassmen. Since they have been with the program for at least 2 years, they are players you would look to for leadership on a still young team. I'm sure Katie was very disappointed, but I trust her judgment that these suspensions were warranted and sent the correct message to the rest of the team regarding her expectations.
  18. Question for courtside or anyone else close to the program. Last year we had an outstanding local player transfer from Tenn. , H Cytron. She is not shown on the roster this year. Transfer out or injured or just left school? No info that I can find on any school release, which is strange since departures from the basketball programs are shown.
  19. Thanks courtside. Getting Lawler back by mid-season would be big if she is anywhere as good as she was pre-injury.
  20. Davidson is listed as #5 in the A-10 (see the top of their write up), so 4 more schools to be ranked. Bonnies, Richmond, VCU and SLU. My guess is in the rank order
  21. I think we will see SLU as the next A-10 team somewhere in the high 70s overall
  22. Did we lose the Goalie recruit from the KC area?(I don't remember her name) She is no longer listed on the roster. Thanks for the excellent recap of the SIU-E game, including all the background information.
  23. I agree with you about Nesbitt's potential impact this year. I just hope he starts to hold down the 'woffin' after every good play. As much as Goodwin contributed to the team, I could have done w/o his flexing after some good plays. I can't stand the 'look at me' stuff. I much prefer the way Javonte acts after his good plays---like he expects that of himself and that he has been there before. Team first! Don't misunderstand, I like the players to show emotion on the court, just not the 'look at me' kind.
  24. Courtside, thanks as always for your input. With regard to Lawler. I trust your info more than Stu's.
