There goes the best dunker this program has ever seen... that being said, this is not surprising and I don't think he had much of a role going forward. In today's game, if you haven't cracked the rotation by the end of your sophomore year and you don't have a clear path for meaningful playing time heading into the next year, you're likely leaving.  I expect at least two more to leave.

He missed both dunks against UNI.

The last 4 coaches at Xavier, are currently not coaching. Thad Matta, Sean Miller, Chris Mack, and, now, Travis Steele.

Xavier won last night after a struggle.  You'd think they would wait till the NIT was over.

  3. When the Bills beat LaSalle tomorrow they will face St. Bonaventure on Friday.  The Bonnies have beaten the Bills twice this year.  It is difficult for a team to win three in a row against the same team.  Also, the Bills will have had a break in game which usually gives an advantage.

    Case closed.

    Oh wait!

We've beaten LaSalle 2 times in a row and It's difficult to win three in a row.  LaSalle has had a "break in" game and so is used to the court.  Hmmm

This may not be a slam dunk.

Is is possible for Guy Phillips to not be awkward in moments like these?  The sentiment was already out there about being hopeful that Perkins would be back.  It was clear that Perkins wasn't going to make a big announcement either way, although it certainly seemed at one point, briefly, that he wanted to.  The moment happened, it passed, Perkins handed the microphone off, and then Gus Phelps, "correction, Guy Phillips," launches into a very odd "HE WILL BE BACK, stronger than ever" thing that he repeated like five times.  I guarantee it was something that Phillips prepared ahead of time, because he thought it would be cute and people would be talking about how witty he was.  I also am rather sure that no one in the Athletic Department or the coaching staff knew that Phillips was going to do that or approved it.

It thought he took a very genuine moment that was happening, that everyone who was paying attention understood, and made it very strange and cringeworthy.

    100% agree

And it just wasn’t him Saturday. Okoro was really hot and at one point refused to join the huddle.

He probably refused to join the huddle because he was throwing up.  Coach said he had a flu bug and didn't even practice on Thursday.  Immediately after the game he ran to the locker room by himself and he looked very much in distress.  At one point during a timeout in the second half, he was bent over with his face in a towel.  He may have been hot, but with a fever.

Honest question: I know I’m an idiot but am I also delusional for thinking there is no reason why this program shouldn’t be able to consistently finish top 4 in the A10?

When you lose your top scorer before the season starts, expecting a top 4 finish is pretty far fetched.  The team is finishing about where it should.  I am still optimistic that the tournament will present some good opportunities.

Key games include Saturday with Dayton, the two with the Bonnies, at Davidson, @ URI, @ Richmond and closing @ VCU.  That is seven total games where we must defend the home fires (3 key games) steal one or two on the road and suffer no cannibalization from the league's bottom feeders La Salle and St. Joe's.

Based on the above, the only lock I will administer is to Davidson but our schedule will make it challenging for us to get a top four.  And as it satnds, La Salle is the ultimate trap game.  At their place of course.

The VCU game is at Chaifetz.

Thanks Brian.  I had to look this up.  Crawford hits a layup at the buzzer to win in double OT.  We and Mason seem to like playing more than 40 minutes.  Looking at that game stats, we played 6 guys, Crawford, Roby, Hines and Welmer all over 40 minutes, Johnson 36 min and Agbeko 34 min.

I didn't remember Welmer playing much back then

SLU can't sleep on George Mason.  Beat ranked Maryland, beat Dayton, beat Georgia. Played KU well.  SLU needs to bring their "A" game.

George Mason playing UMass on USA Channel today at 2pm EST.

I'm very concerned about George Mason.

Keeps Davidson within striking distance, we still have Dayton and vcu at home. GMU I’m not worried about being there at the end.

I don't agree.  I'm very concerned about GMU.  They beat the Bonnies tonight

Beard and Cronin are pipe dreams for Louisville. They have no AD and no President; I don't think the job will be as attractive as they think it is.

I've also seen Kenny Payne's name tossed around.

Does the board do the firing if there is no AD or President?  You'd think one of those two positions would be filled before hiring a new coach.
