Loyola chicago, our old conference mate in the MCC, chnaged their name to Loyola Illinois recently.

Not a real big soccer fan, but anything billiken interests me so I tuned in this afternoon to Coach Donegan on a rare soccer related interview on local sports talk radio. He made not that they had an expended exhibition season with their first game coming up soon, and mentioned their tough schedule with almost all of their opponents being top 20 caliber schools. Said at first the teams strength would be at defense where 3 starters return and 3 out of the 4 jrs or srs on the team (the other jr being the goalie). I couldn't believe that he said 23 out of the 27 man roster were frosh or sophs???? Really young team, but they have the No 3 rated freshman class in the nation, a couple of them are playing on the U-17 national team. Donegan the top scorers would be a a foreign guy Nedad or something, he is really real;ly good, and another frosh who is on that U-17 team Deondro or something like that. Tomorrow if anyone wants to know 1380 at about 1:00 will have the womens coach on.

Marque should have his own page soon. Soderberg said he would sign in SPain or Italy shortly.

New stuff coming out every day, this is not going away for Pretty Boy. Sanctions, probabtion, death penalty, who knows but it is coming down for Mizzou. All the notriety they have gained and advances on the court will grind to a halt. I would like to see SLU be the best missouri bball program by beating mizzou but this is almost as good.

Is there an image of the old billiken mascot on this site or anywhere else? I can only find a very small one, like not even a square inch. Does anyone know where there may be a larger image?

Maybe he has worked on it. Now playing against less than stellar competition it may look better. This is not just my single observation, I noticed it and was it was validated by a couple people on the board and I have heard Earl Austin Jr comment on it twice, once at a billiken club meeting.

If Meyer say yes to SLU that is good enough for me. If Stanford is after him there must be something there although we all have heard or seen his slow as mollasses shot. I really would like us to get more than one area player this year. We must be in on some guys outstate though. Rivals still lists us as strong for Justin Cerasoli, so who knows.

Evans is a decent shooter. I would say Polk is better as well as Liddell. Evans is not terrible though. I am anxious to see what he does being the man at Ritter this year. Curtis Muse has really improved his stock with some of his recent camp performances. Grades are still an issue.

I think JJ signed an LOI though, he didn't just verbal. To my knowledge, and they always make a note of this in news articles, a verbal commitment is a non-binding agreement. I assume it goes for both sides. I don't think it makes much sense to be reneging on deals though. Didn't we sort of renege on Blake Ahearn. I think Romar offered him, he did not verbal, but then Brad took it away.

Could this person possibly asked him before SLU offered? If this is true that we are off his list it is a big dissapointment.

Good news for Porter. I always liked him as a player. He did some great work with SA in his forties. He will make a great coach, though the Bucks have a lot of work to do to be competitive.

Varner will get only get mop up time. He does have some use though, he can come in late in halves or games as a tall 3 point shooter to match up on defense. That is about all he is good for though. We will have a bad season if he is seeing ten minutes a game. I will have to wait to see McClain, how good of shape he is in before I comment. Right now I am not expecting anything from him, but he could be a small contributor if everything goes right. I see Clarke and possibly Morris as the odd man out in the rotation. Clarke will have to be very good to beat out drejaj, and though Brad says Morris is a good pg, he could be another marcus jones.

I don't know how objective I would be if the program I followed was going to concievably blow their chance at a final four before the season even started. COuple that with the fact they have seen these things come and go with no punishment the past few years and there may be reason for optimism.

The team was allowed to have a couple of practices before the Europe trip, so I don't think SLU could have a similar deal this year. They could have a BBQ but no practice.

Ricky was/is a strange character. One of those guys with all the talent in the world but nothing and I mean nothing between the ears. I have heard numerous stories about both humourous and sad. How he got into SLU is a mystery, the program in 78 was not the one it is now.

Good move by Cincy. With all the pub Mizzou has been getting Cincy has to show they are the true thugs of college bball. Everyone else are just pretenders to the throne.

Great news. We have got to be able to beat out SIU-C. We play in a higher conference and we have to be able to offer him atleast the same amount of playing time he can get there, at least he will have a good chance to start. Lock him up Brad. Then we can focus all efforts on Liddell.

Success>Integrity This is really old. I used to take delight in Quin's mishaps but now I feel sorry for their fans. You reap what you sow though. I just wonder if this next years chance at a final four is worth probation and the ultimate demise of a program on the rise. Quin has built a program that is really popular now, top kids want to go to columbia like never before. I don't blame them if Lane is passing out C-notes. I really begin to wonder though, is this type of stuff just business as usual at perennial powers like Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina? Is Mizzou just being punished because they are not in the that club? If the tigers do get a final four will this stuff go away? Doesn't excuse their actions but you never know what is going on at these top schools.

include all D-1 stats. Also JUCO if you can get them. High School and grade school would also be nice. I would also like you to make a page for every billiken player in history. I think there is a high demand for viewable stats of SLU players like Chris Peay, Kevin Zapior, John Bolton, Melroy Butler, Everne Carr, Dale Renken, Redditt Hudson, Damond McCann, Guy Moore and the like. It will be alot of work but I think you are up to it steve. I am also bored today.
