What’s our bet for your bottom half prediction?
-
Just speculation but wonder if the coaching vacancy is tired to a package deal. You want a job. Bring me a player.
-
Remember the controversy many years ago with the sea shells being blown at a tournament game.
-
And I don’t have a problem with this.
-
This take is total crap. While we can all find deficiencies in his game he was one of the best point guards in the country. Assist’s say so. If you want to blame Ford for making him the focus of the program ok. Yuri was a great talent.
-
Here is betting he shows up at Missouri. If they can get Ricky Clemens in this is a no brainer .
-
Not to be argumentative but I’m not sure we were ever better than VCU.
-
I expect Parker to be our best player.
-
Don’t know about college but the PBA on tv can be very entertaining.
-
Don’t agree. 30 to 40 k on average should always you to recruit a very competitive roster. Lots of players out there. Changing sports I think Luther Burden got a lot of bucks. Not sure Missouri got their hoped for return. I would expect prices will come down. In my original post 500 k was just a number but I believe would be a very competitive number.
-
The Victory Fund is tax deductible. Straight out of Troy’s mouth.
-
So how much money will it take to be competitive in the NIL game? Would 500 k a year do it? If that would be the number why can’t it be done? You would have to raise 10 million with a 5% endowed payout. Twenty plus million was raised for the Champion Center. It seems to me an Endowment approach could be done Raising 10 million once would be easier then raising 500k every year . I also don’t believe anybody is paying Jimmie Bell 175k.

I agree with your description. I don't know if Thames can play the 4 or not but at 6-7" he is currently our second tallest player. Seems relatively built with ball handling skills. Ford may bring in a bunch of bigs to make this discussion mute. As I started this with a question to Coach why can't he play the 4. Broy hasn't convinced me he can't.
-
You are also talking about a player who could not get off the bench. Seems to me if an opportunity to play opened up I would grab it.
-
I understand that but we currently have a huge hole at the 4. Plenty of wings and no 4's.
-
Coach and others have said Thames is not a 4. I have to ask why can't he grow into that.
-
You beat me to this.

Chris Harriman - Returns to SLU as Assistant Coach
willie replied to stmdragons's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
I really don’t want to go here because I do think he’s a pretty good recruiter but we’re not talking coach Cal. With the possible exception of French he has not gotten that shot blocking rim protector that everyone seems to have. So yes he can use some help. -

While I know it's done I think coaching your own kid is a bad idea. I also don't think Ford listens to anyone when it comes to x and o 's Cody and Rob were 2 of the best billiken big men in recent memory. All we hear is our lack of a stretch 4. If he can bring anyone near their talent it is a good if not great hire. -

Roy. You seem to be the only one who doesn't think this is a good hire. If I am Larry Hughes why would I want to give up my current life style to be an assistant coach? If Harriman can get us a new pipeline for a couple of players that' s great. -

Not sure you would like anyone not named John Wooden or Paul Westhead. -

Seems like Billiken Bob and Billikenswin were right on. Everyone seems pleased.
